Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.
*sigh* Yes. Fans will always have something to complain about. Projects are out of our control for the most part, and when something is done that's not in their favor, they immediately judge it before it has had it's time to shine. To be released and listened too, etc. It's something I've observed over the past month. Everybody needs to take a chill pill, because at the end of the day it's the Estate and Sony that has the last word, not yours. Sure, fans may influence their decisions but we don't have the executive position here. They do what they think it's best for business, of course while serving MJ's loyal fans. But there will always be compromises, you can't have it all YOUR way. If you don't get that by now, I don't know what to tell you.
It seems this time around, they are trying REALLY hard to please us while getting this album ready to the general public. They've been careful in selecting songs- "the best of the bunch," even INCLUDING the original demos, have these producers that are influenced/worked with MJ in the past to work on the album, invited selected fans from all over the world to listening parties/held listening parties to the media... and I believe that was not out fun but also to observe reaction and tailor the tracklist to picking the single, starting to roll-in with promotion we haven't seen before with the disaster MICHAEL album was, and so on and so forth. There will always be knit-pickers that focus on negativity, no matter HOW MUCH they're really trying to make this album right to the best of their ability without Michael's touch on it... Seriously, in the end we should be thankful that they're putting this much effort in making it right, and making it a success with what they have.
Like what someone said early on back, would you rather not have them release MJ's music AT ALL then? THEN you would complain about that, how they're keeping his work from us. There will never be complete satisfaction from you guys, but content and accepting things you don't like and moving on are better. Michael needs your support, he's not here anymore to stand his own ground. All I'm saying is, his music lives forever yes, but when comes to posthumous releases there will always be compromises. Just take it or leave it. Be thankful that there's such attention and still excitement when it comes to Michael Jackson (even when he's gone) and that his posthumous releases are always looked-forward to, and now taken into care this time around. You don't see that really ANYWHERE with long-gone artists. And that's a big pointer than MJ is still and will be really big deal, and all the more reason to continue his legacy.
