Yeah, if tonight is about the duet, than I cannot imagine that another famous singer will perform the song. It's not really clear to me what is going on though. Do we know whether the solo version or the duet is being released as the single? And do we know which of the two will be played tonight? I thought qbee mentioned something about this earlier?
Really? Well, that'd certainly be surprising!Well we'll see i saw a journalist outside the award thing talking to NBC news and saying wow guys USHER will be performing on a never heard before song of MJ tonight blablablablabla
Well, to be fair, Hold My Hand was recorded for Akon's album, so it makes sense that Michael didn't feature as much on it as it should have. Not much he can do about that.
They could have put Justin Timberlake on Do You Know Where Your Children Are. Now that would have sucked lol
I hate to admit it, but a lot of radio stations (at least around my area) are hesitant to play Michael Jackson because of his past and the controversies and such.

That's a lot of big artists! Apart from the Grammys, this is the perfect event to premiere the new MJ song
I hate to admit it, but a lot of radio stations (at least around my area) are hesitant to play Michael Jackson because of his past and the controversies and such. But they HAVE to play a song done with Justin Timberlake. They just can't.
Let's hope this does well!
One side note: I don't expect the show to open with the new song.
i cannot see one single big artist on that list
Lady Gaga with the vomit "artist"? :black_eye:
There's certain lines we know MJ recorded because they're in the final track, but Akon chooses to sing them in other parts. There's even the line "so why make our lives harder" that Akon sings WITH Michael. In that situation, I'd have just had Michael sing it in the final mix given the shortage of him on the track. Just an example.
No offence, but the radio stations in your area sound terrible. It's certainly not the situation in the UK. Michael is played everywhere.
Where are you from Always There? I am from a conservative small town in Florida and before all these allegations Michael's songs were played all the time then they stopped in 2003. But since 2009 they've been playing a lot of MJ more so than ever!
i cannot see one single big artist on that list
That wouldn't make sense though. Akon sings the entire second verse, which Michael never recorded. Why would he suddenly stop singing for one line?
i cannot see one single big artist on that list
If I'm able to listen to that remix today, I'll skip it once I but the album. I can't stand Michael copycats but if Sony prefers money over integrity, let them have their money.
Looking at the bright side, I'm glad LG wasn't featured on any of the songs, I dislike her music even more than JT's
If you listened to R&B in the 90's and early 2000's, you know who D'Angelo is. He's actually a very talented musician with a good and distinctive voice. I'm glad they chose someone of his caliber for the song over a Timberlake or whoever.
I haven't listened to any of Mary J's latest work, but I know she's a very talented vocalist. As for Lauryn Hill, everything I've heard from her in recent years has me wondering if she can even sing anymore. She sounds awful live.
I hope RedOne includes her on one of his unfinished songs he did with MJ.
Link anyone?
