People should not complain, this new album is celebrating Michael's career! we all knew we'd be getting the leaked song's eventually! and that time is now, the album cover.. i actually find it subtle.. to be fair i do prefer the deluxe cover to the standard but i don't think fans should be broadcasting there disgust so often.. and for exactly the same thing.. Michael's music shouldn't be pirated, it deserves to be heard the way he recorded it and this is that time.

In reply to whoever it was, i meant that no videos from Michael album where proper "Michael short films)! No budget was spent on them, ok the girl in "Hollywood Tonight was hot as hell " and her dancing was tight! but i want with this some risk taking, please estate do it right .

There is so much story in the songs with the right talent Michael could live again in animation. Use Travis for new moves etc.

Please guys dont spoil this fantastic *buzz* we have at the moment, just enjoy the excitement and the build up just like how Michael would of wanted.

I miss running round London etc after you MJ! Plus the fooling with the fans in your hotel lol. But feel your spirit in this release!

Please do. The problem is not in different opinions, problem is with people calling something crap before hearing more than 15 sec or 1:30 min of a song.

YES! I hope they will collaborate with reputable animation studio to create these new MJ films. Otherwise, it's gonna be another behind the mask, hollywood tonight and hold my hand. Music video makin is not their forte.

Who's "Their"? It all depends on the directors' vision. They should treat music videos like they do with the music itself and let talented and experienced people do it. An animation can turn out pretty shitty too if they don't use the right person. I think they're not going sit there and let the album fail in the videos field - it's like money time: YouTube, MTV and everything. They should make videos that can go viral and I think they know it. That's the best promotion and no signs and ads can top that.

Yes thats what i tried to get across there is enough story in these songs to make short films but is there enough talent?

Pixar/Disney animation would be fantastic! Even Sony could commision Sony Animation studios!

All in all very poor, low budget and not good enough for MJ.

I think that is one of the reasons why Michaels later work is soooo underrated. His later art & work was way more complex than the earlier things he did.
You'd need to take some time and listen to the songs more than once to gain access. And unfortunately few people did it...

Coincidentally i just twittered about Tabloid Junkie - ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITE MJ SONGS EVER! If you take the time & immerse in the song you just have to appreciate this as a great & very unique piece of art. You can hear the effort which was put into it, all these layers of sounds, that staccato verses & that otherworldly chorus & harmonies. Also the beats of course.. Tabloid Junkie is simply MAGIC, not to forget the message. One of the most important messages regarding MJ as a person & how he was treated.

And nobody has this song on his list, i can't understand why. I think it's because of the people don't take their time & listen closely.
But that is their fault, because they are missing out immensely...

I love the behind mask video but its not short film! btw mean unreleased one!

We need short films.

As regards to saying about ppl hearing songs , but to complex for some, thats why estate needs to show how and more importantly WHy he mad the songs. Look NME is usually crap to Michael but they done a big article on how Michael Jackson made music. It was all related to the making of beat it that was leaked!

I also would love to know what has been done with the katrina song, from the bottom of my heart,i have this dream, and the fan song he mad i love you.

The best songs are always the ones that get inside ur head , that invoke emotion and thought.

They are necessarily the ones that have that initial hook but the ones that grow.

I wouldn't worry about it at all. They are a small but a vocal group. As they make noise some think they are big and/or influential but they aren't. It's just a noisy group. The real reason for most boycotts is the hate towards Sony and/or Estate. Reasons for Sony is obvious: Michael's fall out with them back in the day. Reasons for Estate includes problems experienced in the previous releases to not wanting the Executors to be Executors. Some of these people will boycott anything and everything just because it comes from Estate / Sony, they don't even consider the contents of the projects. They want to wait until MJ's kids take over for anything to be released - which could take decades to happen and that's if they want to take over. And you are right it's a oxymoron and of course they'll download and listen to the songs. They just won't buy it.

Big Active Creative, the design agency behind cover designs for artists such as Prince was commissioned by Sony/Estate to produce the new artwork.

It's new music from our idol and in my case inspiration. I can't complain! Especially if it'll get the worldwide play it deserves. We got the originals too, so I really don't see a problem, this is how it should be done!

The irony is whatever they buy from MJ they support Sony/The Estate. If they buy Thriller, a part of the money goes to Sony/Estate, if they buy Bad, Invincible, OTW, HIStory, anything from adult MJ a part of the money goes to Sony/The Estate. I wonder if they boycott those products as well...

Thing is Michael did have his falling out with Sony but that does not mean he wanted his releases to flop and wanted his fans not to buy them. He was happy when Thriller 25 did well.

This actually heavily depresses me.

Pentum, I've seen your posts. You don't enjoy the release, fine, but I have seen you give props to the songs that are included and express how much you enjoy them. This is what people don't seem to understand. If you come into a thread with only negative opinions and refuse to give the album any credit at all, that's when people look at you as the negative guy/girl. But you don't. A number of members do. Sharing opinions is encouraged unless you plan to bring everyone down, which you don't.

That's obvious with any song. There are going to be people who like it and people who hate it, regardless of what version is released as a single. If someone here doesn't like the new version of Slave to the Rhythm, they won't listen to it. That's how it goes. Yet another situation where someone only likes to post about why they hate the album and refuses to engage in discussion with anyone, unless he sees an opportunity to hate it.

It may be the first thing that people who don't know any of the music will see (in real-world record stores), and it is meant to attract their attention and interest, in the same way that the Xperia video is meant to. It is meant to 'say' something about Michael to people who might not know his work. It is also a lasting part of his legacy; something that will always be associated with the tracks on the album, and will be interpreted and re-interpreted in fan art and writing.

I love this, your thoughts are so interesting.. (and so inspiring as a graphic design student!) -- but yes, I totally agree, I think it would be really wonderful to see the intimacy and inner imagination, the personal, human connection that goes along with the music. That is the world I 'escape' to when I listen to Michael - it is inside, not necessarily out.

I do appreciate the artist's vision for the existing artwork, and understand the 'otherworldly' and 'unattainable' portrayal of Michael and why people are loving it, and the fact that it's such a conversation starter is great. I certainly don't aim to ruin it for anyone, or to complain, or dismiss other people's opinions - but I do think there are other ways to visually interpret Michael's music/presence. I don't think it's fair to completely bash the artwork beyond reason (because I don't think there's anything 'wrong' with it per se), but I feel there's an interesting discussion to be had.

LNFSG is 1983 (Thriller era).
Chicago is not included. She Was Loving Me (new Chicago is) - 1999 (Invincible era).

Only era that is missing is HIStory and probably Off The Wall (if we assume that the unknown track is from Bad sessions).

there is a song called chicago 1945 that he's from the bad eara but its not the same song. :yes:
