AlwaysThere, thank you for reading my posts. I do not want to belabor this and please know I am not singling you out personally. In my previous posts, you will see I made two requests because I felt those discussions did not pertain to Xscape. Those discussions happened anyway and I had to make a choice: ignore those posts or respond to the point(s) being made. I only responded to those points because one was erroneous and the other seemed to omit half of a situation and told half of a story. Looking back, I am glad the posts were made so I could offer more information for members who may not have known.
No fandom is the same. The cover is more important to some while the track listing is more important to others. I dare say, some fans have no interest in this product and will not support this product and it has nothing to do with the Estate/Sony. Those views and more are valid and we can only ignore them or respond to the point being made. For me, I do not have as much knowledge about the outtakes so I appreciate and am learning from the discussion here.
With that said: question please: is Billboard the best gauge of success for a cd? I ask because I would like to see this product be as successful as possible. Which would carry more weight success-wise: Itunes, Amazon, or a physical store?
Xscape would not be like Bad25 where it did matter what you purchased (Billboard did separate the two disc version from the three disc version I believe) and from where (where are purchases from MJ.com reflected if at all?). It would not matter if one purchases the standard or deluxe unless it was Itunes, Amazon, or similar outlet, correct? In those outlets, a clear message would be delivered by purchasing the deluxe over the standard, correct?
Apologies, I am trying to find the post about a member’s dream but, I cannot find it! It had a great idea of releasing the name of a track a day and maybe a snippet of that track as well. I like that idea and it reminds me of the idea Michael had. I cannot remember the details correctly but, I beleive he would release singles during TII and then put all of the singles on a cd.
