Xscape chart positions. (incl. singles)

It's dropped down to number 6 on iTunes, and Black Keys are number 3. This can't be! :(.

On US-itunes:

Black Keys are 4, Xscape is 6

LNSG is 12 and 79, Slave to Rhythm 58

USA-Amazon:

Xscape 1, Black Keys 2

Coldplay are number one.

None of this matters for the chart being announced this week.

Plus - it's all about the 'physicals' baby! :cheeky:

Plus, folks always forget that in Xscape's case it's the combined number of Deluxe and Standard that counts.

OH NO THEY DIDN’T: The Black Keys’ duel with Michael Jackson to rule this week’s album chart just got very personal. Having already dissed Epic’s new from-the-vault set, XSCAPE, the band’s Patrick Carney told MTV News, “It’s the classic story of Dan [Auerbach] and I. We want to have a #1 album, but Michael Jackson releases something from the grave and cockblocks us.” In a prior interview with Rolling Stone, Carney referred to XCAPE as “some ****ing bullshit that sucks so bad that it took them three years after he died to make it listenable. Like he had to be dead for three years for it to be released.” Classy, right? “They are trashing an album they haven't even listened to,” Jackson estate manager and uber-attorney John Branca shot back, adding, “We are formally extending to them an offer of four free tickets to the Michael Jackson ONE show in Las Vegas so they can continue their education.” Stay tuned for updates on this throwdown, and keep an eye on our Album Sales Chart as the two records tussle for the top spot. (5/19a)

I think MJ will debut on #1, cauz the Black Keys only their fans are going to buy their album, while MJ who has way more fans will have his fans and the public who isn't really a MJ fan but who is interested & wants to see what it sounds like.

BURNNN! I love this reply! :D

As for the Black Keys... just sit down cuz you're fifing over a lost cause... Coldplay is #1 now and Michael is #1 in over 50 countries... sooo...

Looks like Black Keys will get their precious #1 album in the US. Preliminary sales estimates from HDD has the Keys approx 3000 copies in the lead. We tried guys!

How do you know? You're making me worry!

How are they handling the Standard/Deluxe situation? What if Black Keys have the Number 1 spot and MJ has the #1 and #20 spots - and the two versions sold more in total?

I saw this on twitter -- no idea if it's correct or not

I so hope this is correct!!! Hopefully, the early lead for the Keys is
weighted with their pre-sales and does not include all of the physical copies

Do we know where the early sales come from?

This is important;

If it's from pre-orders and iTunes, then MJ has a chance to overtake them on superior physical sales.

Any Xperts on HDD around?

Guys, DON'T WORRY about the HDD building charts.

The first update is basically the digital sales - and BK did better than MJ on iTunes, we already knew. But THAT'S OKAY, 'cause MJ'll get the #1 with the physical sales at the end. ;)

#39 United States
#49 Sweden
#56 Norway
#57 Hong Kong

#71 Israel
#76 Mexico
#82 Russia
#88 Denmark
#96 Brazil

If this IS true, then MJ has a big chance!

I did not think it would be this close on iTunes. MJ should slay with physicals - despite Walmart selling out early. :swoon:

Calm down...this is actually looking good for MJ. If I remember correctly iTunes report first ..so a 3K deficit is a lot better than I had anticipated. Digital retailers like Amazon will come in next and retailers last.

Go Michael!!!!

ETA I see previous poster had already explained

LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE: We told you it would be a squeaker. 24 hours before the HITS Album Sales Chart closes, there's a dead heat for #1 between Turn Blue by Warner Bros.' The Black Keys and Epic's from-the-vaults Michael Jackson set, XSCAPE. Both titles are trending upward and look set to finish in the low 160s. In a race this tight, any number of usually marginal factors—including vinyl—could make a big difference. Stay tuned. (5/19p)

they need to stop hyping this thing and just post the updates. Anyway, we should all wait for BB on Wednesday because HDD have been wrong a few times when the race is this tight.
