Xscape chart positions. (incl. singles)

Well MJ has been behind 's**t keys all week on iTunes - and yet HDD have today upgraded his sales forecast, whilst s**t keys has remained the same.

It's all about the physicals baby. We need our US fans to keep up their great work!

I agree, but #3 on itunes? There is something wrong! Are there any banners and stuff? iTunes promo or something?

Easy Onir, my friend. :better:

MJ fans are notoriously into physical. Even the more mature fans, that go shopping this weekend, will be likely to pick up the album in store, rather than online.

It's not over 'till the fat lady sings', as we say here in the UK.:agree:

*(no offense to fat women, of course)

HITS:

KEYS VS. Jackson, THE RETAIL RUMBLE: The race for next week's #1 continues to tighten as projections increase for both titles going into the weekend. In one of the closest races we've ever seen, Epic's Michael Jackson and Nonesuch/Warner Bros.' The Black Keys both appear headed to the 155-160k range. Stay tuned. (5/16p)

C'mon US fans!!!

I think 5 seconds to Summer's sales have dropped and that's why TBK went up, wouldn't surprise me if 5STS fall behind MJ too - they seem to be dropping fast both album and single.

Xscape has a banner on the main page (tho TBK have one too)

Albums

1 Michael Jackson - Xscape - 36.4k *
2 The Black Keys - Turn Blue - 26.9k*
3 Paloma Faith - A Perfect Contradiction
4 Paolo Nutini - Caustic Love
5 Foxes - Glorious *

*Top 2 album sales now added.

Heading for 45,000? :)

If it could reach 50,000, that would be 4th highest debut of the year! :D

We have 2 full days left for the chart right? Saturday & Sunday? From Thursday to Friday, MJ increased by 5.2K And TBK 3K. I am sure weekend sale will go up for both titles.
But I think MJ has this one on lock.

So happy for MJ. Sunday afternoon when the final chart is announced the news could create some press coverage and maybe have a domino effect here in America.

Shaquille O'Neal the basketball player, just tweeted some major love for the album and included the Itunes link. Maybe more celebrities will tweet about the album. Some people are easily influenced by celebrities, they might DL.

I just noticed that MJ is still #1 on UK iTunes.

ETA: When did record companies start streaming the FULL album the very day it is release? The album was available for streaming on Spotify on May 13th. No wonder album sales are so low...

Yes. It has two full days sales to add to these figures - but, as the above figures are up to and including Thursday's sales - it will be Friday and Saturday to be added. The UK charts finishes counting the weeks sales at 12 midnight on Saturday night.

Someone wrote earlier that UK charts include Sunday as well. They run from Monday to Sunday. I am confused now.

What a sad situation. The BET special airs today. I hope people watch and buy.

I don't see how it can include Sunday sales Meme. As the album chart is often leaked late morning early afternoon on a Sunday.

I think albums released on a Monday only have 6 day's sales in the first week (including pre-release orders), then a full 7 days in the 2nd week.

Perhaps a chart Xpert could confirm?

Why are they sending such few copies to the stores, especially when they know there are some events coming up? Maybe I am too anxious, but all those millions of US Michael fans out there, what are they doing?

Today, the Best Buy cashier told me they will have more Xscape deluxe next week, so this means this weekend shoppers will not be buying the deluxe. I also noticed that there were no posters up in Best Buy.

I agree with you. But I asked earlier and I think Onir (sorry if it was someone else) wrote that the UK chart cutoff day is Sunday 23:59 (which is 11:59PM). Same as USA

No, no I don't have a clue. I asked if it is Saturday or Sunday.

Anyone very good with creating vines? I wonder if we could create a FUNNY 15-sec vine asking people to buy #XSCAPE this weekend. We could try and make it go viral before the BET special in 3 hours.

No, no I don't have a clue. I asked if it is Saturday or Sunday.

Ok. My apologies Onir.

Lemme look it up once and for all

How do you create the charts?
The vast array of retailers supplying data provide us with information of all the sales they have made on a daily basis. These files are collated every day by our partner company Millward Brown - one of the world's most respected market research companies - and matched against databases of products (music and video) held by Millward Brown. The results of this process are verified throughout the week to ensure there are no errors in the data, before the final charts are published on Sunday. The end of week charts reflect all sales which have been reported from 00.01 Sunday, through to midnight Saturday.

So just like the US, UK new releases also miss 1 sale day. Releases are on Mondays, but the new chart week starts on Sunday 00.01AM

Hi,

US Charts include sales from Monday to Sunday
UK Charts from Sunday to Saturday

The fans here in THE UK have done a great job, the album is going to debut at #1 and the single in Top 10.

US fans make some noise!
Buy the album within Sunday 12 pm !

will hologram at Billboard Awards help boost sales in a few hours after the show and before the deadline 12 pm for this week?

Billboards Awards start at 8:30 pm EAST TIME (New York), 5:30 pm Los Angeles

so there are 3-4 hours in which the album may get a boost on digital sales!

In my local Best Buy on June 13 there was only one employee who knew where to look for Xscape. I suspect that they hide it far away in the back for a reason. I did complain about it to supervisor. Just before closing time they still had full stock of deluxe edition. There are many people who are Michael's fans but their children "force" them to listen only Disney products or Justin Bieber. They have no time to watch the other entertainment news except their children's favorites. I'm sure they would buy Xscape when visiting Best Buy if there would be any clue about the release.

what's happening on BET tonight, what special?

The BET special airs tonight at 10:30PM EST (about 2 hours from now). Michael Jackson's Xscape. It's only a 30 minutes program so it's probably the DVD doc

will hologram at Billboard Awards help boost sales in a few hours after the show and before the deadline 12 pm for this week?

The show starts at 8PM EST, I am hoping MJ's segment airs at 9PM...so we would have 3 full hours to do major damage on iTunes. I am pretty sure Branca will ask that it airs mid-show (peak audience).

I am worried about the empty shelves. I was hoping Saturday & Sunday would bring in lots of sales because that's when folks run errands. But I keep reading about empty shelves and that can't be good for weekend sales.

Can we contact MJOnlineTeam and tell them about empty shelves? They need to know that MJ is the strongest in physical sales!

I read somewhere that they're the same.

Similar to the US-Billboard chart the global Track Chart based on a combination of sales and airplay. At the moment the ratio is 75% (sales) to 25% (airplay). The chart includes singles sales and paid-download stats from the USA (Billboard Digital Songs), Japan (Oricon Single Chart), United Kingdom (Official Charts Company Top 100), Germany (Media Control Single Chart), France (ChartsInFrance Top Singles & Titres), South Korea (Gaon Digital Chart), Canada (Billboard Canadian Hot 100), Australia (ARIA Singles Top 50), Italy (FIMI Top Digital Download), Spain (Promusicae Top 50 Canciones), Netherlands (Mega Single Top 100), Belgium (Ultratop Singles), Norway (VG Lista Topp 20 LÂT), Sweden (Sverige Topplistan, Veckans Singellista), Finland (Suomen Virallinen Lista, Singlet), Denmark (Hitlisterne Track Top 40), Austria (Media Control, ORF Singlecharts), Switzerland (Media Control Singles Top 75), Ireland (IRMA Top 100 Singles), New Zealand (NZ Music Charts, Singles), and the iTunes-charts from the countries without an official hitlist. Furthermore the official national airplay charts from the USA, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Australia, Canada, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland, Greece, Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, and New Zealand. The charts are weighted to the size of its markets according to the latest IFPI-statistics.
Added by a lot of playlists from radio-stations in Argentina, Belarus, Bolivia, Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Chile, Colombia, Croatia, Cyprus, Ecuador, Eesti, El Salvador, Faroe Islands, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Romania, Russia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, and Venezuela.

Total sales are bigger than
221k.

To take an example:
"Problem" (by Ariana Grande & Iggy Azalea) had 240k points this week.

But, its sales this week were 235k in USA only. ;)
