why is TLC showing this? The Secret Lives of Michael Jackson's Children

I hope this is not what these children are going to have to deal with of their lives

sadly I think it will be, the media never left their father alone so why would they leave the children alone.

Can you imagine what those kids have to go through..? it's so sad it's difficult to express..
Trashy discussions of fatherhood combined with that 'information' (I think it's tabloid-sourced too) about them going to regular school next year,
thrown together with them having to deal with every other accusation placed on their father (including that worst one!),
can you even imagine what is it like for them to try and live a normal life..?

I too want to know a lot in order to clear people's minds sometimes, but like Modulation Alert said,
I don't need to watch this trash to know it's trash, to know what they said and to be able to discuss this.

...
"Yeah...and now they want to do it again...and I don't want..maybe I don't want to show him to the world like that.
I want him to have some space...where he can go to school. I don't want him to be called "***** *****"
that's not nice. They call the father that. That isn't nice...right?"

...

My post wasn't directed to you so spare with this. But since you brought it upon yourself to explain why you watched, I'm going to say regardless of what your reasons might have been.. by watching it your supporting these kind of programs. By watching it you give them the ratings and encourage them to continue to air such documentaries, by watching it you make them think you agree with them and their views. By watching it you make them go on with making these questionable documentaries about three minors nobody cares to defend. Not even the person who was named guardian. By watching it you make them think it's ok for them to go and question their biology which it is not. Even if they had said Michael Jackson's the best father to have ever walked on the surface of this earth, it's not a good documentary when they go and question their biology are you able to grasp it?
My post was directed at the poster who said the documentary wasn't bad just b/c they portrayed Michael to be a good father, they did not do any favor upon Michael Jackson by portraying him as a good dad, b/c that is what he was, he was a good father period. How can any fan sit here and state the documentary was good or not bad when the documentary ridicules what was the dearest and most sacred to him? Which are the kids by questioning their biology? Any sane person should have enough common sense to know that -regardless of them portraying Michael in a good light or not- this cannot be a good documentary, that this must be a BAD documentary when it questions his children's f-ing genes!! Period, period no but's ifs and when's about it.

Your right, and I know its not a good documentary, but if they air something like this on TV, I want to be able to educate the people who believe the NONSENSE aspects of the documentary. It's the EXACT same thing as any other documentary involving Michael Jackson, there's so much damn crap in it, it's F'ing disgusting. I'm just sick and tired of people who believe such incorrect things.

I want to be able to say , "Ok this part is incorrect, this part is correct, this part is WRONG". It's sometimes hard to explain certain things if I don't see or hear what they did.

As for me giving them any form of ratings, yeah, I wish I could get away with watching something without giving them any sort of ratings. I Don't want any more shows about his kids, but this damn media keeps going on and on about them, while at the same time saying all this stupid, false shit about them that is TOTALLY WRONG.

I spent my whole life defending Michael, always arguing with friends about all this bullshit they hear about him and I won't let mindless sheep believe incorrect statements.

The sick media hounded Michael all the time and now they think it's right to do with children and it's absolute B.S.

Oh, and by watching it doesn't mean I agree with it, or support it any way.

FYI - in US TV ratings is determined by Nielsen by a special tracking device put into some households (and then that percentage is generalized to the whole population)

unless you are a selected household with the necessary tracking device installed, you aren't giving them any ratings.

No, you just make their sponsors very happy. I bet TLC was very happy with what sponsors were willing to pay for airtime in commercial breaks.

"Follow the money" is usually effective. I remember one specific campaign on the German Market that was very successful in getting sponsors to drop out of a show that exploited children. It was the German "Erwachsen auf Probe" which was a copy of disgusting US show "Baby Borrowers". (where some teenagers are supposed to "take care" off other people's traumatized babies in order to get a "reality check"- yeah, let's traumatize children...)

There were enough people that were disgusted enough to start campaigning. They wrote to sponsors and guess what- Ikea, GlaxoSmithKline, Nintendo and a whole bunch of other bigwigs pulled out!

Hurt 'em where it hurts them. Tell me who sponsors "the secret lives" and I'll buy the products of the competition, why not.

The exploitation of children in every corner is mind boggling. Did people not hear Michael saying how hard it is for an adolescent to grow up in front of millions of people??? Did they not get the pain in his voice? I love MJ very much and that is exactly why I will not watch stuff that his children most likely did not consent too. A public appearance that they chose is a different story. Tabloid trash "who's yo daddy" is not that.

Michael worked very hard with all means accessible to him when he was around to raise his children the way he thought children deserved to be raised. That deserves praise and support because it takes a lot of integrity to pull of what he pulled off the way his life was made hell on earth.

I saw the show and saw nothin wrong with it, the only thing was probably the questioning about the childrens paternity and using mark lester as an "insider'. But this is some thing all the other networks have been doin.

Just because it portrays Michael as a good dad it isn't a good documentary IMO. Public speculations of their biology is never good, nor the single fact is good that they are running such shows about these kids. They just don't respect their privacy and keep on exploiting them!

There will always be speculation on that whether we like it or not, i said it wasn't bad but it's not a documentary i would recommend.

Exactly. But I'm not surprised to see who here watched this documentary.
LOL please. If you saw my first post in this thread i didnt intend to watch it. I'm not a tabloid kind of person but i was bored and i thought i'd give TLC the benefit of the doubt since i like that channel.

The show wasn't bad but it was all unnecessary, they did try to portray michael positively. It focused on him being a good father and that they were a normal family, they showed the clips released last summer of the kids at neverland along with some pics and videos of recent outtings.

The lady from vanity vair..maureen she was kind of rude in the way she spoke about how could michael be a great father if he isolated his kids and etc. They showed a picture paris drew for a friend she made in Ireland. that was cute.

Kai chase spoke about how normal michael was at how, jsut like any other guy and the house was full of love, the kids were sweet. She showed a gift paris made for her. She said paris plays the mom role but she isn't bossy, prince like film and music and blanket is the rock star one.

They made me cry with the news clip from june 25 and paris at the memorial, i try to avoid those.

Lester said he spoke to paris a few days after michael's passing and she was fine and told him not to worry that michael is in a better place with the angels, prince and blanket were more reserved and quiet.

Debbie called NBC a week after michael passed and said she wanted custody, they said she shai they made a deal and michael broke it when he passed.

That maureen lady said she doubts michael is the father of those kids by loooking at them. lester said there is a possibility that he is Paris' biological father. He said he heard the tabloids were going to reveal this so he wanted to be the one to come forward so it would be less sleezy. He says michael was desperate for kids and asked him for sperm. They said klein could be the father of one or two of the kids.
Schmuley and some other people close to michael never asked if he was the father because they felt it was rude and they don't know if he is the biological father. The paternity talk concluded with some physcologist saying that it doesn't matter whether michael is the biological parent because he will always be their father and it won't make any difference to the kids.

Katherine is doing a great job providing love for those kids and the family is protecting them, they are adjusting well. They'll have to grow up with alot of pressure being the kids of Michael Jackson.

Kai chase sees the kids from time to time and they're getting so big.

Al sharpton was on and he said some nice words about michael as a father and katherine.

Michael told frank many times to watch out for his mother and his kids, frank says he's making that a priority.

thank you very much for the sammary,,, but who is frank ?

I agree with you 100%. I hope and pray the children were not propped down in from of the TV while other family members watched instead of protecting, shielding them from the ruthless scum of this earth.:(

Marueen Orth is on that special, Not gonna see it if she is, she is such a hateful witch along with the other head of the two headed dragon diane dimond.
