We Are The World 25 for Haiti / Official video now in first post.

Re: Live -- 'We Are the World' Remake

See what I mean??

Guess what people, we all know damn well Michael would have been the first to help Haiti, there is absolutly no doubt about it.

But I also know Michael would recycle a classic because Michael knows that Haiti deserves better than a recycled record full of ego maniacs.

What did he do when Katrina and 9/11 hit???
He didnt half ass it that's for sure, and this is a bunch of half ass nonsense. I'm sure many of the artists involved are doing this from the heart.....but come on now how can we take it seriously?? like I said Lil Wayne is replacing Bob Dylan...........I will be donating my money elsewhere.

I am sensitive about Charity, it urkes me when people do it just to be all like "Hey look at me I'm singing we are the world" ..yes I'm talking about Kanye, Eminem, Lil Wayne and others that will go unnamed. There should be no room for ego maniacs.

But Paris, Prince, Blanket, Janet, 3T, and Nicole still have my love and support...I will only give this a listen to hear what the babies have to say.

I still love Quincy and Lionel...we all make mistakes.
Exactly.. MJ3 3T and Nicole and Lionel do have my love as well but I'm not going to support an egomaniac by buying this record. I will donate money for HAiti elsewhere.

This is exactly what happened when all those artists remade "What's going on".....LAME.

Most of the people involved in that project were involved just for the publicity....this is exactly what is going on now.

Re: Live -- 'We Are the World' Remake

When Michael wrote "What more can I give" in 2001 he brought everyone together in unity. The reason it was so beautiful Michael was a wonderful teacher. Just watch how he leads them:

Re: Live -- 'We Are the World' Remake

what happened to him. Remember when he was on stage with michael at the grammys 84 he had so much love for michael, sadly that all changed when michael dropped him after bad, it wasn't nice of michael to do that, but michael had to think about his career, im sure he tried to make quincy understand, but quincy has been bitter ever since

Re: Live -- 'We Are the World' Remake

I have a right to my opinion hun!!! If you don't like it scroll past it.

I don't even know which opinion your referring to and if my comment was aimed at you i would have quoted you in the first place.

I thought Quincy recommended Teddy Riley to Michael for the next album because he wanted Michael to move on to newer things and a new sound.

Michael said the door was always opened for Quincy and he always thanks Quincy. In the Ultimate Collection he told Quincy "We made history, I'm glad we did it together"

Re: Live -- 'We Are the World' Remake

BunnyHead, starting to see your point of view!

the hope for haiti concert with george cloony, now that was amazing and heartfelt, did u see that?
Yes, Clooney's efforts came from the heart.

Re: Live -- 'We Are the World' Remake

I don't know why but I'm crying right now...

Hearing the new version of WATW with the weird electronic beat... TT_TT

But it's for a good cause and I hope people in Haiti will get help.

Also, I don't know what to say about Quincy... I feel so hurt on behalf of Michael.

I am so glad he never heard what his used to be 'bestfriend is saying about him.

Bless you Mike...

I love you.

Re: Live -- 'We Are the World' Remake

Wowww.. its getting heated in here.

Michael would have been the first person to lend his support to Haiti.
The fans should be ashamed of themselves at how they are reacting, Michael would want as much money raised as possible so if it means remaking this song then so be it.
At the end of the day its not about which song is being used, its about the 150,000 people who have lost their lives and the millions that are left with nothing.

So much selfishness on this forum.

I don't think people should be ashamed of themselves.

I don't think you should call people here selfish - I'm sure a lot of people on this forum have donated to Haiti. I hate talking about money matters but to make a point, I for one donated quite a sum and will donate more when I get more money in my bank account.

Everyone has a right to an opinion about this remake.

Yes its for charity and a well deserved cause nobody disputes that.. but people do not need to buy the song to help Haiti.

The individual donations made by people here are probably worth a lot more than the single is going to cost to buy anyway.

I hope it raises a lot of money, but if people don't want to buy the remake then they don't need to buy it.

Not liking the remake does not equal not wanting to help Haiti.

There are plenty other ways to give money.

Its only natural that fans are going to have an opinion about a remake of a song that was so dear to Michael's heart. Especially now he's not here. Especially if they erasehim from it :/

Theres no need to insult each other over this, try and understand where people are coming from.

well, many things have been said. But just look at him in that interview, the real truth is pooring out of him in his body language

Re: Live -- 'We Are the World' Remake

Your right you don't need to buy the song in order to help Haiti. I just wish everyone wouldn't be so harsh without even hearing the song. We don't know what lyrics have been changed, we don't know if Michael will be in it, etc. We won't know until we hear the whole thing. Haven't we learned yet that you can't trust necessarily what the media reports?

Re: Live -- 'We Are the World' Remake

'Lil Wayne is in it. Great.. :mello:

Re: Live -- 'We Are the World' Remake

Really hope michaels voice will still be on the song, its ment to be that way for sure  just as bono was in the band aid song first and 2nd time around and he sang the extact lines xoxo

A R Rahman was there too.

http://www.arrahman.com/v2/news/news-165.html
He was concerned about developmental issues such as Global Warming and about wars and its damages to the human community. He asked me to compose a unity anthem on the likes of "We are the World " for him. I nodded in awe ...!

Re: Live -- 'We Are the World' Remake

As for Quincy, he produced 3 albums for Michael but sometimes you have to move on and do different things and expand. I always heard Michael thank Quincy in speeches for awards he got long after they didn't work with each other anymore. Michael never forgot Quincy.

I was thinking about why I really hope that Michael can stay in the song. It's a great thing for people to come together for a good cause. Nobody was more charitable than Michael. Since he died, they has been a lot praise and tributes. All nice but bittersweet. It doesn't mean that as a fan I have forgotten the way Michael was treated by people for years and years even before he died. He was treated like he was a freak, made fun of, ignored and treated like he was nothing. Not just by people in general but by people in the music industry. WATW was his baby and he lived his life by following the message of that song. If it comes across as being selfish wanting Micheael in the song I don't think that is anyone's intention. It's important to help the people in Haiti. People didn't want to be associated with Michael but now want to use his song for charity. Ofcourse he would have helped out he was here. It just I think there is a protectiveness over Michael even more now that he is gone. Nobody wants Michael to be forgotten and that worries people.

I tend to agree with this. I wish we could all be more positive around here sometimes. Even if it completely sucks ass it will still make money for people who desperately need it. I know that isn't the point that a lot of you are making but that's the aim of the song after all. I think it's a good thing they are using Michael's song, yes it's sickening that a year ago they wouldn't have even wanted Michael involved and I really believe that, but to me it symbolises the way Michael will always continue to give. I think he would approve. That said I do really hope they leave his vocals in, and in that respect I'm gonna reserve judgement.

Re: We Are The World to be re-recorded for Haiti.

First of all Michael LEFT Quincy, you can clearly see there is some clear resentment...
AND NO Quincy did NOT recomended Teddy to Michael, thats BS

SO yea, I think the idea is to have a COMPLETELY updated version with NONE of the original stars. Lionel is not singing on it either, so I guess that's why they want Janet to play MJ (essentially). She recorded her part in ATL where she is getting ready to start press for her movie. And I just read that MJ's kids will read a poem that was written for MJ by Maya Angelou at the end of the video.

Wonder if this is true, it will shortened on the radios (or totally cutted out) unless is very short, on the readios, that a sure thing...

I will rather that poem to be recoreded on an UPCOMING album of UNRELEASESD Michael Jackson songs...
