:eek:No NONONONONO!!! This is just wrong...What the H*LL is going on????? I JUST hope the source got this info wrong Because this is SOOOO WRONG IN SOOO MANY Ways!!!!

Eminem???(Hater) Lil Wayne???(Hated on Mike on his log) Jamie FOXX????(Dont any one remember what he said bout Mike on Oprah????) ohh and it gets better...There's gonna be a change in the LYRICS???? And Janet's VOICE Will be digitally inserted in MICHAEL's Parts??? WT* Is wrong with these people.

I'm sorry i'm Pisst right now. Some of you may tell me to take a chill pill, but not til i finish this...

Michael WROTE That song. He got the LYRICS and everything. He was the one who sung the whole thing ALONE!!! BEFORE Others were added!!!

If they were gonna change the LYRICS, they should've done another song entirely!!! You DO NOT Touch An ORIGINAL! If this is all true...then I'm ashamed to say Quincy or Lionel are NOT at all good decision Makers!!!

I'm about to go to school now and I am NOT in a good mood. Way to ruin this for me...

Re: Live -- 'We Are the World' Remake

^^Agree with you. If they want to ruin the song, just make another song!

Re: Live -- 'We Are the World' Remake

I understand...I feel the same way.

They just said Kid Cudi and swizz Beats wrote a rapping verse. What has the world come to? We don't need a rap verse on ever damn song.
In Jones' opinion we do, according to his own he was one of the first people to recognize the potential rap has.

Re: Live -- 'We Are the World' Remake

SO yea, I think the idea is to have a COMPLETELY updated version with NONE of the original stars. Lionel is not singing on it either, so I guess that's why they want Janet to play MJ (essentially). She recorded her part in ATL where she is getting ready to start press for her movie. And I just read that MJ's kids will read a poem that was written for MJ by Maya Angelou at the end of the video.

wow really?

upd: I've just reread the poem. I think it would be too sad for the kids to read it... I hope they don't do it. Or read something else.

Re: Live -- 'We Are the World' Remake

Is anybody here old enough to remember this guy? He's a stand up comedian who used to go on Carson and he did this "we are the world" parody that back then (though probably not as much now) was pretty funny (because at the time that song was being played constantly on the radio and the video on MTV, etc).

Yep, just thinking back 25 years ago to when that song came out. Just part of the Michael Mania of the time. I was just 21 or so. Wish I could relive it all...
I remember Saturday Night Live did a spoof at the time. Prince (Billy Crystal I think) was singing "I am the world" and he had 2 bodyguards (Mr. T & Hulk Hogan) by him and all the other singers were just in the back, lol. I haven't seen it since then, so I don't remember the exact details of the skit.

Re: Live -- 'We Are the World' Remake

This latest version of the legendary song has a new "swag," promises Jordin. Producer Lionel said, "It's the new generation doing it." There are no repeat performers. No one from the original recording will be heard on the new track.

According to Lionel: No repeat performers. No Michael Jackson.

ET was under the big top of the media tent at the re-recording of "We Are the World." Several members of the ensemble cast spoke about the historical impact of the song and advocated the importance of contributing to the recovery in Haiti.
The "coincidence" of the song's 25th Anniversary and the tragedy in Haiti coinciding made for an appropriate time to re-record the famous tune, relayed Quincy Jones. Not only is the sound getting revamped, "We Are the World" is entering a world of technological advancements. It is being recorded in 3D and, using green screen technology, Lionel Richie reveals that "you can put yourself in the 'We Are the World' family."
Quincy is saving perhaps the most touching moment for last. At the request of Katherine Jackson, Maya Angelou penned a poem to be read at the end of the song. Quincy is going to speak to Michael's children about reading that narration.
Whether artists were grown, toddlers, or not even yet born when the original recording of "We Are the World" was released 25 years ago, the response was resounding all around as to its familiarity. Young'un Jordin Sparks said, "The song has had a huge impact on me and I've always loved Michael's love for the world and for the earth and for other people and to help and give back."

Feeling a "responsibility" to help the Haitain people in need, Celine Dion says with poise, "When something terrible happens, it's not time to cry. It's time to act and react, so tonight, we're joining each other."
Wyclef Jean, who emigrated from Haiti to the U.S. as a child, represents and sympathizes with "the heart of the Haitian people." When he walked into the studio, he admitted he felt "like a kid in the candy store" because of all the top artists that turned out.
Jordin also commented, "It's kind of like when you go to an awards show and everybody's there...except this time they're not posing for pictures and they're not doing interviews. They're just there for the music."

Re: Live -- 'We Are the World' Remake

Thanks!!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Katherine asked her to write a new poem? So if the kids are going to read a poem it won't be the one from the memorial, it'll be something else probably dedicated to Haiti?

Re: Live -- 'We Are the World' Remake

That is what I would guess that it would be something specific to this. That would be really cool for the kids to be in it in that way but again I don't believe anything that these "sources" reveal

Re: Live -- 'We Are the World' Remake

Quincy should ask his own children to participate after how he insulted them and their father back in summer.

He did say something pretty harsh about the kids' race. I remember that. I don't think the kids should be involved in this ...another publicity stunt to increase sale. Yeah yeah yeah..it is for a good cause!

Quincy is a bitter and senile man.

Re: We Are The World to be re-recorded for Haiti.

don't really like that line up :/ doesn't really show the greatest talent from their generation like it did back in 1985. Where's Beyonce John Legend Alicia Keys Justin Timberlake?

not sure how good this will sound now.

that's right. he said some very disrespectful things. and now he'll be talking to the kids with a smile on his face. :puke:

Re: Live -- 'We Are the World' Remake

Didn't Lionel says some negative things about MJ a few years back during his trail? It makes me so mad that everyone who didn't support MJ before are all of a sudden MJs biggest fan.

Re: Live -- 'We Are the World' Remake

Why Lady GaGa and Beyonce are not participating in this?.,or they are?lol.
but why eminem and lil wayne?oh god

Re: *VIDEO* Info regarding Prince & Paris WATW contribution.

Am I the only one here who is a bit worried about the kids going into the spotlight after Michael tried so hard to keep them away from it? ...

Gosh, they are children......as beautiful as the gesture may be, I really don't want them to slowly become part of the industry.....Michael wanted them to enjoy their childhoods away from all that....

:(

exactly, some fans get over-excited about the kids that they fail to reason. they are kids and the industry is trying to exploit them. i know some thought it was good for the kids to appear at the grammy because they wanted. didn't these fans read the statement that joe jackson released to CNN. this was what Joe said:

"There has been some recent rumours that I am displeased with the idea that Michael's children are accepting the award on my son's behalf.
"On the contrary, I (Joe) am very proud of my grandchildren. katherine (his wife) and I are the ones who INITIATED participation."

keyword: INITIATED. it wasn't the kids idea since they didn't initiate it.

my worry is if these kids are old enough to appear on a televised grammy, then logically, Prince is old enough to appear as a witness for Dr. Murray; given that he was apparently called by the doctor.

we start reasoning up and stop transferring our obssessions fom mj to his kids.

edit; sorry to anyone who might be offend but i feel these are kids and should be allowed to be kids.

Re: Live -- 'We Are the World' Remake

In accepting Michael's posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award, the reclusive 12 year-old
O..m..g here we go  Prince is not reclusive.

According to Lionel: No repeat performers. No Michael Jackson.

Oh noo, please say it aint so!

The use of MJs kids.. money money money -all their young fans who are on these paris, prince, blanket fansites will want to buy it. I know its for a good cause, but using the children for that :/ and after what Quincy said about them!

Lil Wayne and Eminem?! *not happy*
Lil Wayne and Eminem ..after the things they called Michael.. lol great..

This is not for Michael, I know its for charity but we don't have to like this, or buy it.

We can donate to charity without buying this.

I already have, and probably will again.

Didn't Lionel says some negative things about MJ a few years back during his trail?
Did he? I don't think so... would he? I mean.. Michael is the Godfather of Nicole Richie isn't he? I read Lionels part in the Opus book and he seems like he 'gets' Michael, he says some lovely things, and talks about feeling like a child when he was with him.

Re: Live -- 'We Are the World' Remake

Lady GAGA nor Jay Z took part
