All "The Jacksons" (Katherine and Janet included) are "inventing stories" (i.e. lying), because even though they were not even in contact with Michael Jackson at the time of his death, they want to seem relevant to the general public for the purpose of being able to still generate money using his name. The decent thing to do would be just remain silent, and stop giving interviews to the media.
But, they won't because there is no money reward for doing what
would be decent.

I have found this on an other site, but I don't know if true :

According to Gayle King (on her satellite radio show) Oprah did NOT "court" or seek out the Jackson's in any way, it was Marc Schaffel (porn producer/KJ biz partner) who CONTACTED the Oprah team. Oprah & her team were planning an episode on "Teen Heartthrobs" (which coincidentally aired today) and when Oprah was a kid her "crush" was Jackie Jackson. The ONLY call Oprah's team made was to Jackie to see if he would participate.
Days later the Oprah producer assigned to the Jackie Jackson segment received a phone call and faxed letter from Marc Schaffel on behalf of Joe & Katherine Jackson pitching an interview for KJ's book about MJ. THE OPRAH TEAM REJECTED THE PITCH FROM MARC SHAFFEL, JOE, & KJ saying thanks but no thanks.
A few days after Oprah's team turned them down Marc Schaffel contacted them again to say that "Mr. & Mrs. Jackson would 'sweeten' the deal and allow Oprah an 'exclusive' interview w/ the children of MJ if she would agree to feature KJ on her show." According to Gayle, there was MUCH debate between the producers whether or not to do the show. Gayle said the Oprah team is taking great care in the way they are featuring the kids. She said Schaffel made it clear to producers that the Jackson's were willing to leverage the children to promote their biz ventures to other outlets.

Yep, "somebody" is not being truthful. Momma Jackson clearly said she brought the subject up ONCE.

Which means, Janet and Ms. Katherine appear to be on opposite ends of the "intervention" stories. Very interesting!

we notice everything don't we?? I've always said Janet was lying.. she obviously had no clue what was going on with MJ because she herself said several times that she hadn't seen him in years and just heard how he was doing from Katherine.

And when she did speak about him publicly, it was regarding that Family Reunion Concert. She told both Larry King and Ellen that she was having conference calls with her brothers and there was only ONE hold out. She never mentioned Michael's name, but folks knew who she was speaking about (LOL). She said that they were still working on that person and that she was willing to open for them.

That's another thing that NEVER jived with me. I mean, if Michael were in such bad shape and in such denial, why in the world was she pushing him to join the rest of the brothers on stage. I'm sorry, but those two stories do not mesh, in my opinion.

I do not know why I am surprised because earlier in the thread some people stated that Oprah would never go to the house just to interview Katherine and Joe about a book. I do not like to believe in rumors, but this report seems possible. Why else would Oprah go there to interview Katherine? No offense to others, but Katherine by herself does not make people want to tune in to the TV. If this is true, what kind of grand parents do these children have??? Can someone tweet Taj to see if this report is correct. Now I am not only concerned about the interview, but also about the future USE of these children. We can only pray.

To me this seems more like PR control. Oprah found out of some strong reactions MJ fans got, and suddenlly we found out this.

I will say this, Ms. Katherine has the opportunity to turn the "drug" discussion around.

Oprah asked her if she knew about any drugs and Katherine said she asked him and he denied it. She can finish that response by saying:

AND ONCE I SAW HIS AUTOPSY REPORT, I REALIZED THAT HE WAS TELLING ME THE TRUTH!

If she is able to come back with an answer "similar" to that, my faith will be restored, because it will put the results of the autopsy report front and center, where it should be. Which will shut Ms. Winfrey and her line of questioning down.

And that's exactly why these types of interviews are NEVER a good idea, when you have criminal AND civil cases pending.

Yes. However, I still hope Ms. Katherine had stuck to facts and made a clear distinction between her worries in the past and what finally happened.


Though knowing Oprah, everything will be to her convenience, which apart from audience, it seems to obey some sort of personal prejudiced obsession against Michael.

Yea thats how I feel... Why wouldnt they tell Randy or Taj??? I think that they would have protested it and they didnt want opposition. For some reason dnt think that Joe persuaded Katherine but her business partners did. But in the end I pray its not true cause that would look bad on Katherine. I just think taht Gayle was tryna cover for her friend. I also think its wrong that Gayle gave out that much info. I think that was messy of her to do so. I am just sick! I just watched the clip of Oprah and Katherine and O is pounding the drug questions. It just looks to me like Oprah is determined to prove Michael was this scorching drug addict and from the clip I saw Katherine is allowing it. Please God, please just let this be editing and when we see the actual show Katherine will talk about how the autopsy didn't show recent drug abuse.
This show I was watching was also going on about how Katherine and 2 of the kids say alot of the songs are not Michael and they don't support the cd. I am sure this isn't true but they really should say something to support Michael . Is that too much to ask?
I keep thinking about what Marlon said at the memorial..."maybe now Michael they will leave you alone" But his own family is making that impossible. Michael did everything for his family and just look what his family is doing for him.

Oprah realized the folly of her ways after MJ died and she saw "This Is It".

When I saw her talking to Kenny Ortega about "This Is It" I could tell she had a truly life-changing experience and she realized she had let herself be deceived and become part of the Tabloid Junkies.

I think this interview will be great and am hoping Oprah will vocalize a sincere admission or apology to Katherine on how she turned on Michael and joined the Tabloid Junkie crowd and become a Diane Diamond or Maureen Orth or Lisa Bloom or Gloria Allred in disguise.

She never came close to being as bad as any of them but she knew she had a powerful voice and kept her voice silent on the truth until it was too late. The drug stuff is going to be ugly. Loaded questions, Soundbites, interrupting, vague answers, etc, but I'm hoping the trial will clear that up later. I think what we need to hope and pray for now is that the kids weren't used as marionettes.

I swear I am going to spew venom if we're shown those kids talking about anything other than how they like school, their favorite hobbies, and maybe mentioning some nice memories with their dad and how great he was. I have a suspicion that we are going to hear them speak out against the authenticity of the vocals on the new album. And I am going to send a hammer to my wall. Let's hope I am wrong, wrong, wrong.

Me too. I don't trust Oprah one bit. I have a feeling that this is going to be a real stinker. Every time somebody does an interview about Michael, we fans have to deal with another round of self-righteous judgemental crap from all sides. I'm just so sick of it. Again and again. Like your post except for the Geraldo part. People make fun of Geraldo because he has no integrity. Wasn't Geraldo part of that tabloid crowd not too long ago.? Gayle King said on her show on Sirius radio that Schaffel approached Oprah for an interview for KJ to promote the book. She said no. Then she said Schaffel came back and said they'd bring Michael's kids on board to 'sweeten the deal.' Now if that's true or simply damage control I do not know. But say it is true. So King basically admitted that they changed their tune as soon as the kids were brought on board because of one thing. Publicity and publicity equals ratings. It makes me so sad. Michael had these kids in masks so people didn't know what they looked like, he kept them notoriously protected. Yet he passes and theyre suddenly doing TV apearances and interviews? Would they still be wearing masks now if Michael was alive, maybe, maybe not. But he'd always go out of his way to protect those kids. But sadly we'll never know.

Man, Mother Jackson is going to have to come HARD! She's gonna have to answer those "drug" related questions FULLY, leaving no room for speculation.

I look at that clip and I'm not sure Mother Jackson is up for the challenge. I hope I'm wrong!

Oprah was happy to jump on the "addictions" thing. I wonder if she will even touch upon the sleeping problems Michael had or whether Mother Jackson will bring them up on her own.

She needs to say, "I believed my son, because I spent a lot of time with him and I NEVER saw anything out of the ordinary." She said something similar on Dateline and she needs to say it again: LOUD & CLEAR!

Actually, she did touch on the sleeping problem once. It was when she last interviewed Janet.

Janet was going on about Michael being an addict in denial and Oprah asked her if she knew anything about his sleeping problems. Janet said no. Before she could asked further, Perry cut her off and said the family did everything they could for Michael.

So, she did asked, but Janet was the one who played dumb. It also doesn't help that no one in Michael's family brings up his sleeping issues, except Jermaine and it usually in passing.

geraldo had a tacky chat show in the early 90's were he attacked mj big time. he only started sucking upto mj during 03-05 to get that interview with him and then when the trial ended and there was no reward for supporting mj ie another interview he started attacking mj again and has to this day.
