More amazing to me is the fact that Michael owns ALL the footage. You want to make the Victory Tour commercially available? MJ's estate would be making baaaaaank.

Excellent read!!! Thanks for posting this. There was one thing that was said that I disagreed with: right after the trial BET did a beautiful special on Michael Jackson supporting him as being innocent. It really stood out as no one else was that positive.

Great Read!

They was being real and I appreciate that. And they was right about alot of things from where the music industry is going and what not and I love how they recognize that man was a man of business who despite his fame did not waste peeps time like the many so called artist of today.

Thanks for posting!

I know. I wonder why Michael hasn't released it. Come to think of it, I am surprised Michael hasn't done a lot more with dvds. He seemed to lose steam dvd-wise after the early 2000s.

Interesting to hear the inside story on what happened with Invincible.

wow....thank you sooo much for posting. I read it all
One of the best things I've read in a loooong while. I agree with pretty much everything they said, and I'm glad these guys came out and told it like it is. That was truly amazing. Thanks again. And I'm definitely gonna listen to the audio when I get time

now that's a nice read, interesting and revealing interview > thnx so much for all this work.
You seriously rock, Shamone!!

I didn't want it to end! Gimme Victory tour videos!!! *Gobble gobble*

A really great read. I loved how they didn't hold back on anything -- Sony treating Michael like crap, what's going on the entertainment industry these days, and how much the musicians, producers, and so forth have been influenced by him. They really understand how amazing and difficult the things Michael accomplished really were.

made me cry again not bcoz' i'm sad but beacuse Michael is truly a wonderful person. I Kinda want to compile all these wonderful things been said to Mike so comforting, srsly really comforting to read.

What a great interview thanks for posting.
I wish they could put this on every dam newspaper front page in the world!
It made me cry too.The part mentioned about the tour made me feel a little guilty as it was us who bought the tickets and it was his fans he didn't want to let down. Now I feel maybe we all contributed to his death.
I don't know what to think right now.Part of me wishes he never mentioned about touring but then maybe he felt there was no other way to get his debts paid.
Oh Michael why did it all have to go so horribly wrong for you.
I too see Michael as a Christ figure I totally agree with that statement in the interview I have often said it in these last few weeks. Not that he was Christ don't get me wrong, but the tragic stories of the two they were both so misunderstood. All they wanted to do was heal and help people.

CR: “This was years ago. I’m going to go back probably eight years ago and Michael told me, ‘Cory, I can’t tour anymore. I’m not gonna tour anymore. Ok?’ I said, ‘why Mike?’ He said, ‘Because it will kill me.’ That’s what he said to me. He said, ‘It will kill me.’ Why would you say something like that? He said, ‘Well, remember when I was preparing for my concert and I passed out at the Sony Studio?’ He said, ‘Well, it’s because when I get ready for a tour I get dehydrated. I don’t eat. I don’t drink. I don’t sleep. I put so much of myself into preparing for a tour.’

He said, ‘I’m not doing it on purpose. This is just something I don’t think about anymore. You understand? I’ve just become so driven that I can’t even think about these things anymore. They made me walk around with an IV last time. He said, ‘So I just decided, my doctors decided that maybe you shouldn’t do this anymore. He said he wanted to make the Invincible album work to the point where that was it. He’s done with the tour. He’s gonna do this Invincible album. He wanted to continue to put out albums. He said, ‘I’ll do albums till I can’t do it anymore, but I just can’t tour.’”
why Michael? I thought you were up to the concerts and have changed your mind but I don't think so anymore...:(
These concert shouldn't had been announced. I wouldn't mind if he never performed again and just kept releasing music. But I really thought he wanted to do this.
I was getting so worried that he wasn't releasing anything since trial. So I was incredibly relieved when he announced TII. I thought he was back.
Tragic!

So many people think the bit about touring from PHM is funny but when I heard that he goes through hell touring, I was shocked. I always thought he LOVED it and hearing that out of his mouth...it wiped the smile off my face for a few seconds.

:( Oh Jesus.....that just says it all right there! I truly believe that Mike was experiencing the very same thing quoted here. This is all so sad!

Glad to have read this as it gives us clearer insight into the whole Invincible saga. And no one even had to tell me what a gracious and kind person MJ was. I want more people to come out and talk about MJ as he truly was and not the tabloid headliner his backstabbibng friends would have people see. God, we're gonna truly miss him.

All I have to say about this interview is WOW!!!

Thanks for posting, because it gives a brilliant insight in to Michael's fallout with Sony in the early 2000's. I actually think Sony could have done a better job promoting the HIStory album in the USA in 1995-96.

Beautiful interview!! Beautiful! And you know what is the most beautiful about it? It is that MJ himself has been heard, on several occassions, saying these very things. Fans here should stop with their speculation and reflect on MJ's past and words.

Yes, MJ was very private, but there are certain things that were consistently revealed by him through actions and words.

No, he wasn't anorexic, but it is obvious that when he tours he drops weight like crazy. I've seen it throughout his history of touring. He himself said he loses like 10 pds/performance. Yes he said that!! So add that to the fact that he wasn't eating 3 course meals 3 times per day and it makes sense he was skinny.

It supports his IVF status etc. and the reason he collapsed for dehydration. It is the reason why for years he was on hiatus from performing because we know (unfortunately) that he wasn't going to be content to just stand on a stage and sing. No way! He wanted to dance, and dance and jump and dance and sing.lol

I know some people eat when they are stressed, but when I get stressed, driven and have to do many things, food is an afterthought (to be had when I find the time.) If I never lived my mom who cooked, I would be .....I can't even think about that right now. My mom has cried over me. And I love food.lol. Go figure.

Sorry to go on this rant.

These guys giving the interviews, are they not afraid of getting in trouble with SONY??

Another thing that is interesting about this interview is that it was done just 5 days after his death I think. Like on July 1st, before all this craziness that is out there now about Michael.

That's true LiveonBoca. There are a handful of interviews and comments that have been basically covered up by the deluge of speculation unfortunately.

It was cool. MJ's a friendly brother man.lol. I always thought he was a chatterbox in a one-on-one environment and even in the media. He will readily reveal his thoughts about stuff he chooses to....and he repeats himself over and over again.

Oh, and I do think MJ has a bit of insecurity with his work when it comes to his fans. I think he does alot because he wants to please hsi fans, or fear he won't please them. He really depended and appreciated the fans' love.

Wow just WOW!!!!!

This interview is just amazing...it says it all right there, doesn't it?

Michael was certainly used & abused!!!!!! poor michael

All he tried to do was give love to the world, and how did the world replay him?...by backstabbing, crufiying and basically killing the man!

Michael, sweetheart may u be in peace

this is amazing, i would like to know is there anyway of sending them a mail to thank them for this!!

I especially like very much, the way they say what happened to all these artist coming out and saying "hey! Michael you dont have to go on tour to pay for all this CRAP that you went through, you was proved WITHOUT A SHADOW OF DOUBT INNOCENT!! we will rally around for you and help you , give you lots of our profits from a big record in your honour! Its so true ! i really am quite taken that Cory says that, and very touched.

You know what is so right! is the fact that Michael WOULD of done it for someone else, and as he says they done it for a murderer!! The industry stinks and i hope it diminishes even further until true talent comes forward again, in the shape of the next gen jacksons!

We need to get this ripped to YouTube or something... the audio is long though, almost 1 hour.

i agree boca, we need someone to upload this on youtube :)

Boca, please pass on my most sincere thank yous if you email Mr Rooney...amazing interview the world should pay attention to this
and thanks for sharing

Wow he kept it 100!!!
This is the type of stuff that needs to be circulated.
Yes MJ had his problems and we dissect them until the cows come home, but as I've said before his good outweighed his bad.

Who he was as a person, that story has not been told in mass.
That's why I get upset with the Deepak Chopra's and even the Jackson family to some extent.. These are the stories they should be telling, All the people closest to Michael should tell how smart, well read he was, how funny he was, how fascinated by life he was.
And stop spinning these tales of woe like every moment in his life was like that.........

Two things that really stood out for me:

* When Cory mentioned how "easily led" Michael was.

* And the gift basket story with Michael apologising for being 45 minutes late, which was one of the sweetest stories I've heard. :)

As for the first point, Michael has always been described as a very shrewd businessman...but we ourselves have also noticed how naive he could be at the same time sometimes. And on top of that, Michael seemed to have an innate need to always try to please everybody and not let anyone down...
Damn, Michael... :(

Cory also said that Michael planned to continue making music - but not tour. After the trial, THIS was exactly what I saw Michael doing til he grew old and grey. THAT is how he would and should be spending the rest of his life, being a happy family man and continue making whatever music he felt like - at his own pace.

My God. Michael's story should not have ended NOW and this way.
