THIS IS IT - Australia: link inside to register for ticketing info

Ok, I found a contact us page on Sony Pictures Australia. I have sent them the following email:

Kerryn StationeryRE: MICHAEL JACKSON'S THIS IS IT

Hello,

I am emailing on behalf of the Australian Members on an online Michael Jackson fanbase, www.mjjc.com
We are wondering if you would be able to clarify some details regarding the upcoming Michael Jackson documentary "This Is It".

I have seen conflicting dates mentioned for the release date. Some sites say October 28th (Wednesday) and others say October 29th (Thursday). Which is the correct release date?

Will all the major cinema's be showing this? i.e. Hoyts, Village, Greater Union, Reading etc.

Do the tickets go on sale in Australia on 27th September as per the trailer?

Where are tickets purchased from?

Is the ticket cost known as yet, or is this set by the individual cinema's?

Thankyou kindly,

Kerryn

hey Simon! added you on MSN and FB.

Seeing it in the city sounds good but I think it would be too hard for me on a week night. Maybe we could look at all meeting up in the City Saturday 31st October to see it at Crown!

Thank you for doing this. I really want to know what is going on as well.

I found Event Cinemas on facebook and sent a message and this is what I got back:

Event Cinemas: Here is the info. -- the upcoming 'MJ's This Is It' will release on October 29th with tickets on sale September 27th. You can purchase your tickets online for your fav Event Cinemas or at the box office. Enjoy!

So.... does that mean all of the cinemas they own are showing it? Or is the info just vague because the guy doesn't know???
I sent another message to see if it is only shown at certain theaters or all of them and I asked what the ticket prices are too. Hopefully I'll here more back.

This is really frustrating.... I want to be prepared BEFORE the 27th to get together with others in Sydney and also to see it on my own a few days after the premier. We need info!!

I just saw this thread. I am going to my Cinima this friday to confirm it...AH I AM Excited!!!!

hey, I'm in Melbourne (well Geelong) and would love to meet up too.

I have emailed Village & they told me tickets will be on sale via their website on Sept 27th, same as most other places. Also Readings have theirs on the website now too.

Not sure where everyone has agreed to go though, had to whizz through the thread.

Sweetness!

So guys will we all meet up at a particualr melb cinema ,when the movie shows?

Well, I won't be able to make the opening viewing but if anyone wants to watch it again after Nov 2nd...let me know please via PM! I'm from the south eastern suburbs so Knox or the city would suit me.

When are us Aussies going to see the trailer on T.V?

No one knows that tickets go on sale this Sunday besides fans on forums...

Well, fans on forums bought 1 million tickets in four hours.. we're not to be underestimated

Just kidding, but I'm sure we'll see some. I see ads for his CD's on tv every now and then, they'd be crazy not to advertise a huge event (read: huge money maker) like this.

well they go on sale pretty soon, guess we should come to some kind of agreement? I can go to Hoyts in Melb Central or Village at Crown. Thurs is prob best? Unless there is some special midnight opening with the rest of the world?

Hi everyone! I'm new on here. But an old time MJ fan. I was a kid in the 80's, so I grew up listening to Thriller and Bad. Oh, and I live near Melbourne!

Anyway, just wanted to finally say helllllllooooo. *waves frantically*
