I feel sad about it, but Michael was the glue. just check out the difference in his dancing and singing, his presence... at 50 years old, and the brothers'.

I love Jackie and Marlon and Tito and, yes, even Jermaine. but the magic is non-existent.

I think if each of the brothers were doing solo projects they would have been more motivated to do so.

I understand that and i'm guessing MJ understood that too, which is why he decided to stay solo. Maybe he didn't want to be part of a group and deal with all that headache that comes with it? He for sure liked to be in control, just like Jermaine clearly does and to me, Jermaine is the one who is the main problem. He's acting as if he's working on a solo album, but that's not the case. He's not the only one to blame though. The problem I see here with all the brothers is lack of communication. They need to work together better and listen to eachother more if they want it to work out. They aren't on the same page at all.

I agree, and I also think that they would have worked better together if this was a project that they started themselves. but as we see, this project was not their own, they are being forced to fo it or be sued. i thing this has something to do with that allgood show that they didn't even know about. i don't think they really want to do it at all.

I agree with much of what you are saying but what we forget is that there is a difference between solo project and group project.
michael in the studio doing solo project can do exactly what he wants and everybody has to listen to him, it is his show.
But when it comes to group projects, even michael would have to cooperate with the group. Or he wouldn't be a team player.
the problem with this group is that they are all professionals in their own right. That is the hardest group to come together.

Michael may have been a solo star, but he had no problems working with others. Alot of his music in his last album and even Thriller 25 had a lot of input from other artists and song writers. The people he worked with said that despite his stardom, he was easy to get along and to work with. He was also opened to new ideas and input from others.

You saw in TII how he would guide his team and gave them moments to shine when it could had been all about him. So, it shows he was a team player. Jermaine clearly is not. He actually acts the way people thought Michael would act at his level of stardom.

Communicating isn't their main problem. They don't have the magic anymore. Michael was the glue and he's gone. I begin to believe, it's a mistake trying to get the group back together after his tragic and sudden death. I understand the bros are trying to live on, but nothing is the same, as they said, it will never be J5 again. They have also lost the fire to perform together.

I love Jackie and Marlon and Tito and, yes, even Jermaine. but the magic is non-existent.

Agreed. They are all talented and professionals in their own right, but it is SO painfully obvious that without Michael, it's just not the same. They are really missing a charismatic leader with great vocals, dancing and showmanship skills and that of course was Mike. I mean they all are good at something, but Mike was good at everything (except musicianship of course 'cause Tito and Jermaine have that on lock) but really something is missing.

Still, that "Saturday Night" song is kind of catchy and if they can continue making good music and not worry about just scoring a hit, I think they can do well. It's just that seeing them perform as the Jackson four WILL kill me. I would probably go see them live, but it would be emotional for me, but I wish the brothers the best of luck.

They wanted to do something anyway for the 40th Anniversary. They said as much before the Allgood thing. They also wanted to unite again for years, so it was not force.

Allgood just lite a match under their butts and they still came up with nothing.


As for your last post, this was obviously an on going problem even before Michael pass. In the first episode they bicker and whine among themselves. Michael's death may had made thing a little worst, but it hardely started there.

ok yes Michael was the glue but i do think that if they REALLY work at it they could have a good come back them self. The thing i notice most about this is that when they want to do something as a group they never stick to that. They always start with out someone.

Jermaine is starting to get on my nerves. I mean he thinks the sun don't shine until he gets outta bed. Jackie wrote a song and its him that teaches the others the right way to sing it NOT Tito and Jermaine.

Tito has a good ear but the other brothers don't listen to his advice. That IMO is whats getting on all they nerves. The jackson song sounds Good but whats missing they cant bring back.

Jermaine is my biggest problem with this show. To me hes more of a Big baby wrapped in a scarf and shades. Always wondering who's going to take care of him, Whats for eats and whos cooking it.

This whole lock down thing was a waste i think. I mean they really didn't do anything but fight and argue over silly stuff...

I think im addicted to the show... EEK!!

I also never said they should get back together. If they can't get along in the studio, they should break up and do their own thing, much like what the Beetles did. They broke up because they grew apart creatively.

All bands & groups fight, and in some there are members that don't get along or don't even like each other, but they compromise to get things done. As far as Mike goes, he takes forever to record stuff on his solo records, doing hundreds of takes when someone else like Prince mostly does one or two takes and gets it out there. We don't really know how the brothers worked together when they were younger. Back then they were around each other all of the time and probably worked more efficiently. They're middle aged now and probably don't have that fire now and have other obligations. Other than Tito and maybe Jermaine, none of the others really do anything with music. So Tito & Jermaine seem to be more interested than Jackie & Marlon.

If you look at the whole video, you clearly see Michael singing with the group. You even see Diana Ross kissing him in one of the videos.

He also worked, in studio, with Stevie Wonder who is also a big solo star.

So, Michael did not always do stacking. Those who did work with him in studio said he was a team player and got along easily with people. However, he was a perfectionist and only expected the best. However, he was not like Jermaine at all. Who obviously thinks, it is all about him and somewhat bullies his brothers.

I agree with everything you've said. I love how everyone keeps saying, "the magic is missing, the magic is missing." Yeah, that Magic is Michael.

And did anyone else notice the two producing guys in the studio getting annoyed and talking smack with each other??? Michael was a perfectionist, but he wasn't a prima donna. He probably knew he was close to perfect, but never went around saying it, or telling ppl to shut up. Don't you guys remember in "we are the world," a song Michael half made, Michael was helping everyone with their parts. At one point he just sat back and waited till everyone got their things together. He was patient and waited. And in "this is it" I'm surprise he didn't slap that piano player who couldnt get the "the way you make me feel" part. I could hear people in my theater grunting out of annoyance. And what did Michael say? "no no, its ok, its all for love, etc."

And yes indranee, even the preference of music and dancing is different between Michael and his brothers. Michael was more edgy, his dancing was hip. The brothers are still living in the 70's.

I actually do think half of the reason why Marlon and Jackie aren't cooperating as much as they should is because of Michael's death. I don't think they are over it.

I love the brothers, but they need to get their sh*t together ASAP.

The latest episode was a hot mess.

Jackie and Marlon doing their thing, basically though being singled out as the "dancers".

Jermaine, as much I do think his singing does stand out above the others (aside from Michael of course), wants to run the flow. Maybe because he did have a certain level of success as a solo artist at one point, but rightly or wrongly, he does seem to want to have things sung/done his way.

Marlon, damn, even the smallest of moves, he's got a special way when he moves, no matter how small; not an outstanding voice, but definitely plays a part in the whole.

Jackie being the eldest does deserve to be listened to, but should also be open to ideas from the brothers as a group as well.

Tito, I respect his instrumental/musical input, he's definitely no slouch in his own separate guitar and perception of music.

In the end could they have pulled it off without Michael? Possibly, never to the extent of them together WITH Michael, but entertaining because of each of the other brothers' talents brought together.


They all hold such a musical legacy together as a group, with Michael ultimately being the standout, but not denying the talent of all of them as a whole and with several of them outstanding in their own right.

I really do wish they could pull it all together, if only for one time. Without a really cohesive effort on all their parts, not sure it can happen.

Irregardless of anything though, I am enjoying watching this series of shows.

I am trying so hard to watch THE JACKSONS on A&E, but the damn show is unwatchable. One member of this family had all the talent and charisma.

It is good to know JERMAINE has ZERO power within the group. The BROTHERS are on to JERMAINE bigtime. They do not allow him to get away with anything. They laugh at him, and call him out when he is acting selfish running off with his air head schemes. They give JERMAINE enough rope to hang himself.

Can someone please tell me what is going on with JERMAINE'S HAIR.?? IS IT PAINT ON HIS HEAD.??

Try watching it without prejudice and you might be able to enjoy it better. i love every minute of it, and i find jermaine very entertaining indeed.

Wow tonights show was something. Really showed that the brothers arent always at harmoney. But thats the case in every family. I have 4 siblings and we dont jell so well at all times. Marlon`s funny though.
