Re: The Jacksons - A Family Dynasty (Live TV Stream)

There is a an undeniable distance between those siblings. No matter how hard they front and try there is no unity whatsoever. Everyone's pushing another agenda no wonder they didn't get anything done the past 20 years.

LOL! That coming out of your mouth Ivy surprised to hear that lol
Why are u still awake?

Re: The Jacksons - A Family Dynasty (Live TV Stream)

Yes, me too. and michael was not without his shinanigans in the studio either. lionel richie can testify of that.
What have you woken up for? To bash Michael? And blame him for other people's inabilities?

Re: The Jacksons - A Family Dynasty (Live TV Stream)

I am beginning to realize that Michael was most likely the glue of the entire Jackson 5, not just with vocals or musical wise, but just in pure guidance. They don't seem capable of working together. Especially with a ham like Jermaine. Although, Jacky could stand to be nicer to the band.

The Jacksons seem to need a central force to keep them together and they don't have it anymore. Michael seems to be that since he wouldn't take any of the BS I just seen.
I'd say it was more Papa Joe, not Mike. When they all fired Joseph, that's when the group started to fall apart.

Going by what we have seen from TII compare to what we have seen the Jacksons doing, I would say he would had either gotten his brothers in line or just left.

Michael may have been patient to some extent, but some of the stuff that Jermaine was pulling would had driven him crazy. Being the perfectionist that he was, he would had gotten Jermaine in line and I don't think he would had been very nice about it. Also, i think like Jacky he would had gotten on the band, but in a much nicer way.

I also think he wouldn't let them leave the studio, not even to eat, if nothing was done.

:clapping: Yep, and it is intersting how they kept on referring to joe when they wanted order. Even lockdown was joe's invention.

TII was an edited programme. When the Jacksons are finished and they choose to edited in their hard work and leave out the arguments then we may see more impressive attitude.
however, this was supposed to be a reality show which was suppose to show you warts and all/ I like it. it shows the human side of them.

Michael worked with his brothers all his life, and he and them sat down and wrote many songs. I doubt Mj's work ethics is any different from his brothers. All of them were schooled by Joe.
Incedentally, there are videos of the brothers rehearsing on youtube.

Not completely true. They made the Victory Tour with Joe really doing nothing more than getting paid for being there. Michael was the one who really made that tour, even the previous one. Joe did not really control them since they left Motown.

Joe may have kept them in line and threaten them if they didn't put something out, but threats can only go so far to motivate people to get along.

The common factor seems to be Michael and things seem to fall apart without him.

The Jacksons was edit too, so I fall to see the point of you saying that. Also, you don't even know if the edit out suppose arguments since you did see Michael being critical of people. He just did it in a nice way.

Also, unlike the Jacksons, Michael was about to put out his produce. It would had been cool for them to fight and to bicker, but they came together in the end and made a product. They didn't even do that, which as they said themselves, was a waste of time.

On the work ethic, they are different in the sense that Michael get his products out. If he doesn't, it was hardly caused by creative differences. You saw them on suppose lockdown and Jacky and Marlon was taking a walk and was very late. They didn't even do anything with the dancing they were suppose to be working on.

Michael, from what people around them said, would get so busy with what he was doing that the would literally forget to eat. That is hardly like his brothers. He also didn't work with them all his life since he really stopped working with him after the Victory Tour in the 80s. You could count MSG, but that was on Michael's terms, not the brothers.

Where has things fallen apart without Michael/ the brothers have been off raising their families and doing their own thiing. what thee show has shown me is that they are all different and have lives of their own and not as keen to get back in the studio as some fans were claiming.
These are grown men who would rather be off doing their own stuff, had they been strangers they would have been doing just that, but as jackie said, being brothers mean that they are a group for life, whether they like it or not.

The Jacksons were edited, but they edited in their rows, tears and disagreements. I doubt Randy Phillips and Sony would have let the world see michael struggling into the studio or suffering from exhaustion or even Ortego having a row with him for not turning up on time. It was reported that Mj failed to turn up at several rehearsals esp at the beginning. maybe the Jackson brothers will get it togewther eventually.

I agree with this. See, I think Jermaine is a total perfectionist, but so was Michael of course. Could you imagine those two working in the studio together as adults? lol. I would have love to have seen that, but I can tell you one thing, Michael could be a jokestor, however Michael's very serious about his music and what he does! And anyone who has worked with him or seen "This Is It" knows Michael did not play when it came to his music. He would not be taking any orders from Jermaine or letting him get away with anything if he had been in that studio. Jermaine wouldn't be taking any orders from MJ either i'm sure, but I still think Mike would have been able to pull it together better than the others if he was here. Michael was more of a gentle leader, but he more than got his point across when he needed too.

Watching the show tonight, it's clear to me that the magic is really gone though. Of course the other brothers are talented and I think they should continue on, but I wasn't all that impressed with the music I heard from them tonight (Although that "Saturday Night" song wasn't half bad). It just aint the same without our Michael :(. He is irreplaceable. It doesn't feel right watching them perform without Michael. I know they have to go on and I have no problem with it, but it just wont EVER EVER EVER be the same. The one and only Michael Jackson. Can't replace him.

Re: The Jacksons A Family Dynasty - Watch here!!!

I am trying so hard to watch THE JACKSONS on A&E, but the damn show is unwatchable. One member of this family had all the talent and charisma.

It is good to know JERMAINE has ZERO power within the group. The BROTHERS are on to JERMAINE bigtime. They do not allow him to get away with anything. They laugh at him, and call him out when he is acting selfish running off with his air head schemes. They give JERMAINE enough rope to hang himself.

Can someone please tell me what is going on with JERMAINE'S HAIR.?? IS IT PAINT ON HIS HEAD.??

The reason why I said the above is because Michael would not left them off unless they produce something or he would had left. Michael was a perfectionist and would not had tolerated a bunch of mess, even from his brothers. He wouldn't had work with the for a week and have nothing to show for it, since he always put so much of himself into everything. I think that is partly why he didn't want to work with them again. Too much drama.

I also never said they should get back together. If they can't get along in the studio, they should break up and do their own thing, much like what the Beetles did. They broke up because they grew apart creatively.

They are the ones who want to get back together like the old days and I am simply observing why that is unlikely happen. They have no guidance and no one to tell what they should or should not do. For the lack of better words, they don't have a leader.

You could say Joe was the leader, which would be true when they were younger. But, after they left Motown and did their own thing, Joe really had no control of them. Most of them were grown men by that time and could tell Joe where to go if he push too hard.

Which is why I said, I think Michael was the unofficial leader of that group. He was their guide and told them what sounded good and what work. If they themselves knew what to do, they would had more successful solo careers and would had been able to unite to at least put a song out.

That is my observation.

I agree with much of what you are saying but what we forget is that there is a difference between solo project and group project.
michael in the studio doing solo project can do exactly what he wants and everybody has to listen to him, it is his show.
But when it comes to group projects, even michael would have to cooperate with the group. Or he wouldn't be a team player.
the problem with this group is that they are all professionals in their own right. That is the hardest group to come together.

Re: The Jacksons - A Family Dynasty (Live TV Stream)

Next week is going to be the last episode but what about the concert? Did the show already happen and if so where and when?

They need to bring Papa Joe back. That'll get them in line, heh!

Yeah that would be fun!!

Re: The Jacksons - A Family Dynasty (Live TV Stream)

yes, the magic has evaporated. they seem just a bunch of 50 year olds desperate to capture old lightning in a new bottle. and it just... ain't happening. I feel sad about it, but Michael was the glue. just check out the difference in his dancing and singing, his presence... at 50 years old, and the brothers'.

heaven and hell.

I love Jackie and Marlon and Tito and, yes, even Jermaine. but the magic is non-existent.

I hear what your'e saying but I don't agree. something that strikes me in watching the brothers is the amount of defference they give to age.
Notice that Jackie makes decisions often without the brothers agreeing, and he seems to revel in it and takes pleasure in riling up the brothers. he claims to have that right because he is the oldest.
i remember on guy who worked with the jacksons talked about Michael asking him to speak to his brothers when he wanted them to get to work. he didn't want to do it himself as they were older than him.
i think that they have that old fashion respect for age and for that reason I cannot see Mj losing it with his older brothers.
:D

Re: The Jacksons - A Family Dynasty (Live TV Stream)

Is there going to be a new episode next week? Why didn't they show a clip like usual (unless I missed it)?

Re: The Jacksons - A Family Dynasty (Live TV Stream)

the problem with this group is that they are all professionals in their own right. That is the hardest group to come together.

I understand that and i'm guessing MJ understood that too, which is why he decided to stay solo. Maybe he didn't want to be part of a group and deal with all that headache that comes with it? He for sure liked to be in control, just like Jermaine clearly does and to me, Jermaine is the one who is the main problem. He's acting as if he's working on a solo album, but that's not the case. He's not the only one to blame though. The problem I see here with all the brothers is lack of communication. They need to work together better and listen to eachother more if they want it to work out. They aren't on the same page at all.
