the more they prolong the release....the more chance fake dvd will come out...in the end some people will choose to buy the fake one coz its cheaper

iTunes has the film for pre-order for £10.99. It says the expected release date is the 27th December.

I pic Nov or Dec of this year because it would've been better than a lest 2 weeks to be in the movie theaters.

Official Pre-Orders Have Begun

Sony has unveiled a new site for pre-orders of the DVD, Bluray and iTunes version of the film. No details as of yet on what they contain but this leads me to believe that it may be coming sooner rather than later.

Should be noted iTunes states the expected release date as Dec 25 2010. obviously they have NO idea when its going to be released so are just giving it a REAL LARGE guesstimate.

Yeah, I've never heard of an iTunes pre-order three months in advance. Must be coming out earlier than announced.

Hey can someone clarify something for me?? Will the estate get a cut from the DVD sales?

I saw this posted on another MJ forum:

A report I saw on CNN last week said that the estate would not get a cut of the dvd sales.

I found this online:

Jackson’s estate gets 90 percent of profit from the movie after Sony is paid for its role, including marketing and distribution fees, according to two people with knowledge of the arrangement. Concert promoter AEG Live, owned by Denver billionaire Philip Anschutz, gets the remaining 10 percent.



The promoter recouped about $36 million it invested in Jackson’s canceled tour from the $60 million Sony paid for rehearsal footage, according to one of the people.



The estate will use proceeds from the movie and the album (no mention of dvd sales) to reduce Jackson’s debt, said another person, who declined to be identified because the matters are private.



A spokesman for Los Angeles-based AEG confirmed the profit split between the estate and the promoter. Lois Najarian, a spokeswoman for Sony Music, declined to comment.

I mean, I would think that Branca would negotiate for the DVD sales since they are just like album sales. . . a whole lotta people are going to buy this DVD.

Please, can someone clarify. A big part of the reason I am supporting TII is because I know that some of my money is going to go to the estate and by extension the children.

I pre-ordered the Blu-Ray Disc version even though I don't have a Blu-Ray Disc player. I figured this version would have more extra footage than the DVD version.

I hope they release it this year here in the USA in December and not next year because that's way too far away.

What doe you think is going to be on the Bonus on the DVD?

It was over 100 hours footage, and they showed us just 2 hours.
Doe you think they are going to show us more hours on the Bonus? If not, doe you think they don't show anybody the rest of the footage, but in 10-15 years they showing it, just like what they did with Elvis and Tupac private footage ?

Damn, I wish I could send Kenny Ortega a mail and give him proposal. Any one who have the mail adress??

I went and saw it last night, and felt exactly the opposite. :) It was awesome to be in a theater full of fans (about 80% full) who love Michael as much as we do. We laughed together, applauded each performance together, and people kept yelling out accolades to Michael. :punk: It was really FUN!

I cried in three different parts, but kept it quiet. I imagine others did too.

There was a lot of comradery in line as we waited too. Everyone was excited and talking about the film, what new Michael "stuff" they had bought, and we questioned theater-goers who had just seen it too. So far everyone loves it, including us. Really, it was great seeing it in a theater with other Michael fans.

I'll be buying the DVD as soon as it comes out too, and watching it often. :)

I hope they show more music numbers but I also would like to see if they have Michael just talking to the dancers or anybody about anything. Just so people can see more of him as a person. We did see that but more about the work they were doing.

Surely they would have put the moonwalk in the film if they had the footage though?

Its hard to believe he didnt do it once properly in all the rehearsals.
