The Jacksons Announce First UK Tour Since Michael Jackson's Death
The Jacksons have announced they will be bringing their Unity Tour to the UK in 2013, performing in the country for the first time since Michael Jackson's death in 2009.
Jermaine, Jackie, Marlon and Tito have described it as a "dream coming true," to embark on their first worldwide tour in 30 years.
The former Motown group will be visiting Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester and London in February to perform five dates. Speaking after the announcement, Jackie said: "I can't believe this is finally happening. There's nothing like having all the brothers on stage at the same time. This will be exciting for our fans around the world - and I know at each concert, MJ's spirit will be in the house with us."
Jermaine added: "I can't wait to sing all the songs that were so much a part of all of our lives. We are ready and committed to keep the family's legacy alive and perform once again with the highest level of excellence, creativity, and most of all, integrity."
Missing from the group will be youngest brother Michael Jackson, who died in 2009 at his Los Angeles home after overdosing on powerful anaesthetic propofol.
It was recently revealed that Michael's former personal assistant, Michael Amir Williams, is suing the singer's tour promoters AEG, claiming he lost out on $7.5 million in compensation from Michael's ill-fated 'This Is It' tour. Williams' lawyer said: "It is truly unfortunate that so many see Mr. Jackson's demise as an opportunity to grab as much for themselves as possible.
"This is just the latest wrongful-death lawsuit with someone hoping to profit from Michael Jackson's tragic death in the same way they profited from his life."
Tickets for the Jacksons' tour will go on sale on November 23. The full list of tour dates as are follows:
February 26 - Birmingham NIA
February 27 - Manchester O2 Apollo
February 28 - Glasgow Clyde Auditorium
