Official: The Jackson UNITY TOUR

Re: Official: The Jackson Start Their National Reunion Tour in July

LOL Ashtanga! Not THAT free concert (the bogus one with the hologram). Code753cr was referring to the free concert where the Jacksons are performing tonight in Brooklyn, NY. I'm surprised no one else posted about it here (or maybe I should have).

I just saw at their site they will come to Europe-Belgium & Netherlands in November.
Surprisingly, tickets for the best seats are already sold.

Doesn't mean anything since they are a part of the 'Night of the Proms - Classic meets Pop' concerts which are an annual event with 6 to 8 acts who will perform about 20 min each. It's not like they are doing shows on their own.
They've only announced last Thursday the Jacksons were performing and tickets for the best seats were sold out long before that.

Funny, it was announced on the Jacksons page first but seeing I don't care much about the Jacksons I don't check their website. A friend from Australia had to tell me and my first thought was "No way in hell they are gonna sell out 5 dates in that venue".
It's the biggest concert hall in Belgium and holds about 17000 seats. I went to check the website of that venue and the Jacksons weren't mentioned anywhere so I went through the Jacksons page and it directed me to the Night of the Proms concerts.

Well it seems the Jacksons are getting jobs to perform, so that tour did help their careers a bit. Well Jackson men enjoy it and be happy.

Re: Official: The Jackson Start Their National Reunion Tour in July

^ They really are the most unprincipled people, they don't even attempt to make an effort to appear principled. Hilarious really, when you thnk of all the minions scurrying around making anti-aeg banners, and sticking pins into their randy phillips voodoo dolls, and there are the brothers in business with aeg.

Re: Official: The Jackson Start Their National Reunion Tour in July

Is AEG-Live the concert-promotor from The Jacksons?

http://www.aeglive.com/artists/view/12255/The-Jacksons

It says that there are no events listed when you click on the link but they have a show next friday in California and other shows scheduled in October along with the European shows. I would think if AEG-live IS the promoter, the dates would be on the website yet they are not.

Re: Official: The Jackson Start Their National Reunion Tour in July

The European-Dates are not Jackson-Tour-concerts, they are Night of the Proms-concerts and they make a appearance.

Who was the concert-promotor of the American-Tour? Their dates were listed on the site of AEG-Florida and then disappeared. It is obviously they didn`t want to make the promotor public.

Live Nation was the concert promoter for Unity tour, see http://partyzone.us/events/live-nation-presents-the-jacksons-unity-tour-2012
but when I did Google search for AEG Florida and The Jacksons, this came up

So if you can check AEG Florida twitter mentioned above, you can see they were promoting brothers.

Who went To The Jacksons Untiy Tour Concert At Coney Island,Brooklyn 8/11/2012 ?

I know They Played New York Before at The Apollo and some of us couldn't make it. But My Brooklyn Boro President Marty Markowits made arrangements with The Guys to come back for a Free Concert at Coney Island. I couldn't believe it and I brought my daughter to see it. Pics on facebook. The Guys Rocked The Party That Rocked The Boy and Marlon was a Dancin' fool. I loved it. Jermaine did his best to take Michael's lead on some songs and ofcourse the rest of the Bros did a great job seperating the lead Vocals between them. The Crazy thing was as they sang Time Waits for No One,The Fireworks was set off.Strange ,Coney only have Firework night on Fridays but this was a Saturday night and Marlon asked The audience"Did Yall Like The Fireworks ??? We all looked at eachother and Yelled YEAH!!!...I think The Spirit of Michael was there. I think MIchael Rode The Cyclone and other rides and Then Set off The Fireworks LOL. IT's good They came back to the place where MJ filmed parts of The WIZ. I hope they come back again someday..:punk:

Re: Who went To The Jacksons Untiy Tour Concert At Coney Island,Brooklyn 8/11/2012 ?

I live in Brooklyn too but didn't go to this concert. The recent family hoopla aside (there's always hoopla with that family heh), I think it was pretty awesome that the Jacksons played a free concert in Brooklyn and at a place close to my heart Coney Island...I went there so often as a kid and just revisited a couple of years ago. It's changing all the time (there was a time Coney was decrepit and doomed - now it's thriving). Yes, without Michael the Jacksons will never be the same but they are still a big name and big names like that in Brooklyn are very exciting. Brooklyn rules! :)

^^Brooklyn sucks!!! Just kidding.

Re: Who went To The Jacksons Untiy Tour Concert At Coney Island,Brooklyn 8/11/2012 ?

I went! I got video and audio of the concert too!
I tried to share it on YouTube but that was didn't go well. I saw them in englewood NJ and then Brooklyn. I was around row 7-10 ish. In the middle.

I Want You Back... Abu Dhabi Welcomes The Jacksons (1 November 2012)

•The Jacksons to visit the du Forum, Yas Island on Friday November 30th as part of their Unity World Tour
•Show to celebrate the hits of the Jackson 5 & the Jacksons, as well as a tribute to the band’s late brother Michael

FLASH Entertainment today announced that Iconic Motown legends The Jacksons will share the unforgettable songs of the Jackson 5, The Jacksons, and a tribute to their brother Michael at the du Forum, Yas Island, on Friday November 30th.

Performing as part of their worldwide ‘Unity Tour’, the Jacksons Live in Abu Dhabi will feature founding members Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon and Tito in a spectacular stage show that plays homage to the ‘First Family of Music’. UAE music fans can expect to dance, clap and sing the night away, as one of the biggest phenomenons in pop music history come together to perform their Motown, Disco and Pop hits live.

Continuing Abu Dhabi’s long tradition of hosting iconic performers, including band’s sister Janet in October 2011, The Jacksons show will be a rare opportunity to see a group that has been a centerpiece of popular culture for over 50 years.

The Unity Tour is the first time the four piece have performed together since their "Victory" album in 1984, and it brings to the UAE a show that combines the Jacksons’ trademark routines and expert choreography with a catalogue of hits that is unrivalled in popular music.

The Abu Dhabi show gives UAE music fans a unique opportunity to enjoy the ‘First Family of Music’ up close, as The Jacksons entertain with classic hits including "I Want You Back," "ABC" and "I’ll Be There". The show also features a tribute to the legacy of their late brother Michael.

A FLASH spokesperson said, “It’s a real joy to welcome The Jacksons to Abu Dhabi. They are geared to entertain, and so far the Unity Tour concert crowds around the world have not been disappointed. We’re sure their thousands of fans here in the UAE will have a great night’.

The Unity Tour began in June 2012 and has so far seen the band tour North America, Europe and Asia. Speaking when the tour was announced, Jermaine Jackson said in a statement,

"I am so happy and excited to perform again onstage with my brothers. I can’t wait to sing all the songs that were so much a part of all of our lives. We are ready and committed to keep the family’s legacy alive and perform once again with the highest level of excellence, creativity, and most of all, integrity."

The Jacksons were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997, and in January, Michael Jackson’s handprints and footprints were immortalized during a ceremony at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

Tickets for The Jacksons Live at the du Forum are on-sale now at www.thinkflash.ae.
Fan Pit Tickets are at AED450 and General Admission Standing Tickets at AED250. The Jacksons show is open to all ages.

Re: Official: The Jackson Start Their UNITY TOUR in July

What happened with Randy?

Re: Official: The Jackson Start Their UNITY TOUR in July

Waw they are around the world!!! I am really impressed. Good luck men!

Re: Official: The Jackson Start Their UNITY TOUR in July

At least they are earning their own money and won't be pestering money from Katherine, and most importantly, it leaves less time for them to do and think doing stupid things like granny-napping.
Jackie said in one interview that Randy is going to be joining with brothers next year.

If only they could stop calling it MJ tribute, in order to attract people to their concerts and to sing Michael's solo songs.

Re: Official: The Jackson Start Their UNITY TOUR in July

^^Well they were in the US tour but still was able to get involved in the granny napping incident, by some of them signing their names on a letter and tweeting lies, so I do not think going on a world tour will keep them out of trouble. Even if they had they own money in the past they still wanted Michael's, so I do not know what impact being on a tour now will have on them not salivating every time they think about the estate money. Their history shows that once they use up their funds, they look to Michael for cash, so I hope they get to keep a lot of the money they make now.

Unfortunately Randy, Janet and Rebbie are not involved with the tour so they have plenty of time to plan another granny-napping. :(

What cities in Europe did they play this tour?
I don't get this:
According to Jermaine' statement, "... We are ready and committed to keep the family’s legacy alive and perform once again with the highest level of excellence, creativity, and most of all, integrity." and the highlights of the show are "I Want You Back," "ABC" and "I’ll Be There".
To me it's like they are stuck in the seventies and can't move on.
Yeah, I'd like if they stop calling "MJ Tribute" too.
Leave MJ alone already.

Re: Official: The Jackson Start Their UNITY TOUR in July

They play this week at the Night of the Proms in Belgium and then they head to the Netherlands for their Night of the Proms. Then they head to Abu Dhabi, Japan, Malaysia, and Singapore.

Re: Official: The Jackson Start Their UNITY TOUR in July

^^I have to repeat that I am impressed with the tour's movement. Any news about how much ticket sales are per night?

If it took 3 years to plan this summers granny-napping, I take that plan B is going to take even longer (I hope:))
