Here's a concept. Maybe the brothers are having fun. You know? Enjoying themselves while on tour.
Maybe they aren't trying to be as good as they were back in the day.
For one: Because they know they are not. Surely they realize that as much as "fans".

They're lucky. The expectations for the 4 of them were so low that they were able to go out on stage with little pressure. One of the reviews i read on here even said that their missteps and shaky vocals/choreography had charm. Contrast to the enormous pressure mj felt for this is it, not only from himself but from the media who, let's face it were ready with the scathing headlines. MJ felt he had to put on the greatest night of people's lives, he had to be even better than he had been in the past and expectations for the biggest comeback in showbiz were sky high - any mistakes he made wouldn't be seen as charming, he'd be crucified for them.

Very true. The brothers can get a way with making decent to good shows because that is about what is expected of them. As long as they sing on key and make the right steps 80% of the time, then their shows are a complete success. With Michael, it was 100% or burst, even if he did perform with his brothers again since most in the media could careless about the brothers even when they shared the stage with Michael.

In my opinion, the brothers are not doing any lip syncing. I mean, why should they have to, their show is so scaled back that it's dang near what I would call UNPLUGGED.

It's just them, the band, the back-up singers and the audience. No BIG PRODUCTION that at times "may" require an artist to lip sync.

I wouldn't call it scale back, just very moderate. It isn't an arena show, but it has a higher production value compared to other oldie acts.

Nope, they aren't lip-synching. During the concert I went to, Jermaine forgot a line from "Can't Let Her Get Away".

It doesn't look like. People used to stay in line days before tickets for Michael's shows went on sale, even knowing that he might lip syncing. Isn't that amazing? Michael gave extraordinary shows. He danced like there was no tomorrow. The brothers are not using the same energy. There's no reason for them to lip sync.

I don't think they would need to do that. It is real easy to just stand there and sing. Kind of hard to sing and dance and breath at the same time like Michael did.

Four people stand there take turn to sing a song I can't see any reason they don't sing live. Let's be honest other than hearing them sing there is nothing else worth to be paid to see. Sorry I stopped at 0:53 of that rock with you performance from their live show, I just couldn't finish the clip :ph34r: .

I think I read once somewhere that Michael Beardon said Michael wanted to sing live as much as possible for this is it. But Beardon thought Michael should save his voice and with all the dancing he would do. If I am running or something like that I barely can talk so I don't how you can sing and dance like that. His brothers might do some dancing but not the way Michael did in his shows.

I didn't think it was that bad. But some brothers did do better than other brothers though.

Pretty close to where Allgood Entertainment wanted the Jackson Family Reunion Concert to be. I think Michael would have preferred it to be this way with his brothers headlining instead of him!

Why Michael did lip sync was because of his lung problems because of Lupus. If you sing and dance like Michael you have to breath in a special way and because of lung problems he had it was impossible for him. Read the autopsy report. There you can read about keloided pulmonary tissue. Michael had big problems with his lung and some fans were angry with him because he didn't sing live.... very sad... (I don't mean someone special from here!)

Waw I could imagine how proud he was of them and then the memories of their youth must have overwhelmed him. I am glad he is alive to see them do their thing again, even though it was not like in the good old days.

When this song first came out on the radio I used to sing "enjoy your sex, enjoy your sex, enjoy your sex with me..." I was 10 or 11 years old. Terrible...

I have been thinking that for a long time. There are many smaller venues around the US and all over the world that cater to performers who are not longer on top of the charts. They could have been working for years, making their own money (not superstar money, but enough to take care of their kids, and live a decent life like many other performers do. People would have understood that they were going to hear "oldies" from the J5 and Jacksons years. Instead they hounded Michael, lived off of his money and then when they knew they couldn't count on him anymore they all of a sudden are back on stage. They never had to leave the stage. Some of them just never stopped seeing themselves as superstars.

I'm not going because it's outdoors and I can't stand the sun/heat for too long but it's kind of amazing to see a big name like the Jacksons playing the Seaside Summer Concert series in Coney Island, Brooklyn my home borough (setting aside the recent family craziness)! :)

First there's Brooklyn loves Michael Jackson birthday celebration.
Then Joe is in the NYC Puerto Rican parade.
The Jacksons performing at the Apollo in Harlem.
Now the Jacksons are performing in Brooklyn.

What's next lol.

Edited to add have fun and take lots of photos/videos if you can. :)
