'Official Michael Jackson Opus' (All Threads Merged)

I just checked my Ticket master reciept for Opus, here is what it states (Look carefully at the "event date"):

Mine is the very same. So does this mean we won't get ours until Jan 30th? What was the point of pre-ordering?

Got it yesterday afternoon. This baby is HUGE!! The fed-ex man was carrying it over his shoulder like a sack o' potatoes. I'm really impressed with this opus. High quality. Definitely fitting for MJ. Very beautiful pictures, great writing, and excellent stories told by several people who have known MJ through the years. Considering how expensive opuses can be, this is a massive bargain. Thanks to MJ and all of those involved with this project for giving this book a fairly reasonable price tag. My only dilemma is finding the appropriate space for this beast lol.

I ordered my opus until September 30 and yesterday I received an email that says:
"Estimated arrival date: February 03 2010 - February 26 2010"

Why so late? :(

Is someone in Romania who has received this email?

OMG...this is just stupid....February????? Did you get your e-mail from Fedex? I'm from Romania too,but no e-mail yet... I want my book till Christmas, not for my birthday in february.

It's written on the reciept September 23d.

The Michael Jackson Opus is available at Barnes and Nobles for $134.99 with free shipping. Grrrrr! I thought that they were only available to order online or from the Opus store. I also thought that if we didn't pre-order during the pre-order period from opus or ticketmaster, that the price would only go up, Not down. Had I known I would've waited to get the cheaper price. This is so not fair!!!

Thought the opus was only going to be in the opus shops? xoxo

I think I read somewhere that someone talked to TM and they said not to worry about the 'event date' thing, that's not the reflection of the date you will receive it.
TM doesn't really have a clue, it's FedEx that are getting the books ad shipping them so I wouldn't worry.
And also, usually when I get stuff shipped ( like from Amazon) sometimes they will put an exaggerated date on there but then it will change and arrive in a few days.
So don't worry ppl.

Now, the Barnes and Noble thing is kinda pissing me off BUT that price is only for members ( ppl that have a B&N card and they pay for membership from what I know). The regular ppl would buy it at the list price of 249.99$.

I found yet another error in the Opus. One part of the book says HIStory was released in 1996.

Nope. The Barnes & Noble price for non-members is $149.99. The price for members is $134.99.

well, looks like MJ fans were tricked.

the most depressing thing for me is not the delivery delay or even the Barnes and Noble price. what makes me the most upset is Eric's report about mistakes in the book. To think that just for once they could've made it right! they could've made an effort for such a special book. but no! :(

Yeah, I'm dissapointed in the mistakes also. I'm only half way done reading the book, so I hope I don't find any more mistakes.

Yeah maybe he did The HIStory World Tour before he made the songs or the album. :hysterical: ...... I will  Soon

Update from Ticketmaster.co.uk help

Question
Michael Jackson Opus- Dispatch Update

Answer
Most Michael Jackson Opuses purchased before 6th December have now been dispatched so you can expect to receive your shortly if you have not already done so and you ordered before this date. Dispatch of Opuses purchased after 6th December will be completed ASAP.

I paid $193 for mine. I am pissed that I could have gotten it for less at B & N with the free shipping plus tax. I hope this money is still going to the estate.

The book is beautiful and huge, I am glad I have it.

Mistakes in a legacy piece are unacceptable.

Book may be beautiful but it was rushed & I bet you anything it's riddled with errors.

Opus better be ready for fight.

Yup mine says the same and i ordered mine on the 5th September! :(
I am gonna email them

Ya, I emailed them earlier today...Either way, I am no longer expecting to get it before Xmas...And, it's the last time I pre-order anything..

Ok, does anyone know are all the books being shipped from the US? Because in that case I think our books will have to come through the customs and in worst case scenario we'll have to pay for the clearance charge :(

:wtf1: We have to wait another 2 months?! :banghead I didn't even get a message... :tickingtimebomb Now I am so mad!!!:perrin

Receive my opus. It's beautiful and well worth the money.Had no idea the opus would be this large. It dominates any room it's in. To fully experience the opus i need a large empty room with a massive table and high chair.

Well, this is just the total opposite of the email I know a lot of us got the other day. I got an email saying that orders before December 1st will arrive before Christmas...But, that's not what this says:

When will my Official Michael Jackson Opus be delivered?
We will be dispatching the Official Michael Jackson Opus from 7th December, with customers pre-ordered by September 30 2009 receiving their Opus by Christmas. Due to overwhelming demand, it may not be possible to fulfil orders taken after this date until the New Year.

I ordered mine October 9th...So, I guess I won't be getting it until after the New Year...Awesome...

Just sent a strongly worded email to Opus...

Need advice

Should I keep the opus in the cardboard box that it came in?

My Opus came 15 minutes ago.:wild: I had just got home when the Fedex guy showed up. Totally hadn't expected it to come so late in the day so those of you who haven't received your books yet, keep your eyes peeled up to 7pm cuz yours could also be a late in the day delivery.

NOW, I'm conflicted about whether I want to unpack it and dive into it OR leave it boxed and wrap it for Christmas.

AHHHHHH the temptation! What to do what to dooooooooooooo!

Edit: Forgot to add...I'm in Florida so deliveries are wayyy South now. Perhaps South and Central America will be next. :)
