'Official Michael Jackson Opus' (All Threads Merged)

I totally agree with you guys, but lets just look at this rationally...Definitely pissed that they said it would be here before Christmas, stupid of them to actually think they could make that happen...BUT, it IS the Christmas season, and deliveries are gonna be SLOW and overwhelming, not just the Opus but all deliveries all over the world...I'm not surprised this is happening...Take it with a grain of salt - we'll all get our Opuses....Don't get me wrong, I'm frustrated too....

Fair play with wat u r saying but wat about the reality card and that, that was promised to be with the opus as well :-( xoxo

On another forum I go to one poster was fuming after he enquired about his Opus, its an xmas present for his son. He said in the email 'this is meant to be a christmas present for my son and wont arrive in time' and Ticketmaster actually had the cheek to send an email back telling him to 'print out the confirmation email and give that to your son.' Needless to say the guy is fuming!
wow..i can't believe they said this.
guess the good thing is that at least they still replied his e-mail.....i never got their reply!!
everything is so messed up!

Well I sent an email to Andy earlier today and he was nice enough to ask for my phone no. and then he called me .
Ok, he said that he was in charge of 3 areas ( can't remember what they were, Chicago was one of them) and bc I live in Tennessee my Opus will be shipped from Chicago.
He said that due to customs and weather the books had been delayed and will be getting to Chicago tomorrow and will be delivered straight to FedEx warehouse ( that's why I don't have a tracking no from them yet I suppose). On Monday they will be shipped out and he said it might be a 1 or a 2 day shipping ( he said he will look it up and email me the info). So I guess that's why ppl in the 'middle' of the US have not gotten theirs yet if they're assigned to Chicago. But they should arrive before Christmas I think.

He said that at the time the first e-mail was sent he though that they would be able to make the date and they probably didn't factor in the possible delays so now they have ppl mad about it.

About the gloves, he did say that cost wasn't an issue, that they are simple cotton gloves worth 50 cents but they thought the symbolic one love would be more appropriate. ( little did they know MJ fans are crazy ha ha)
I really can't say I am that upset about the glove bc if you're really anal about stuff like that latex gloves are much better for turning pages and protecting them.

I was mad about the delay too but guys, we need to be more tolerant. This guy called me at half past midnight in the UK, it seems to me like they really are doing everything they can.

Ticketmaster on the other hand... they're jerks.

i got my opus today.

you honestly need 2 gloves for this.

the thing is so damn heavy. i weighs as much as my head

its very beautiful :D

the pages are a bit hard to turn tho

any questions or stuff and i'll be glad to answer ;)

I dunno, I mean, I'm so not happy about the possibility of not getting mine until the middle of February, but I'm not pointing fingers at any one particular person. It went through so many countries/seas/states/cities/people to get to my apt yesterday (I'm not there) that the delay could be anyone's issue. I'm sorry you guys have had bad experiences, but with everyone I've spoken with, Opus peeps were by far the most helpful and concerned. Everyone I've talked to has been so kind. I think the glove thing was an honest mistake. They thought it would be special for us, another tribute thing, not realizing how serious some people would be about using them. I kinda' feel bad for them. The reality cards - well, I don't know. I think they just didn't have enough time and figured they'd go ahead and get the books out and send the cards later. =P

I totally understand them, I`m not even mad about the card, just want my book, a member from another Mj forum said that the books will be delivered to Europe starting Monday, I really hope I will recieve it very soon!
I dont care about the tracking number either...

So if we arnt going to be getting it before xmas why is the times offer saying we will grrr arggg, why cant we have the truth for once :-( xoxox

I had a call from the Times bookshop again yesterday and they said there was a problem at customs but they will get the books in on Monday and delivery will be 24 hours after that so we will get them before Christmas.
Don't really know what to believe ??????

Cant wait to get my opus!, hopefuly well get it before Christmas, doubt it though.

I agree, it took over a month for some screen protectors for my phone to be delivered from Hong Kong. Royal Mail and all services go bonkers over Christmas.. I guess Opus really didn't consider the fact that all services slow down around this period. Yes, I'm miffed that I probably won't get my Opus in time for Christmas now but really guys, there are more important things to worry about, we HAVE heard from Opus and they know our frustrations and they are doing the best that they can. It'll be here, just chill and relax. There's nothing you can do, moaning about it will only make you feel better and won't make it arrive any quicker.

The Michael Jackson Opus is available at Barnes and Nobles for $134.99 with free shipping. Grrrrr! I thought that they were only available to order online or from the Opus store. I also thought that if we didn't pre-order during the pre-order period from opus or ticketmaster, that the price would only go up, Not down. Had I known I would've waited to get the cheaper price. This is so not fair!!!

The only reason that I am concerned is because I am going on vacation and I don't want my Opus left outside while I am away to be stolen or messed up in the bad weather. If I were not leaving town then It wouldn't be an issue whether it arrives before Christmas or in February. lol

I ordered my opus until September 30 and yesterday I received an email that says:
"Estimated arrival date: February 03 2010 - February 26 2010"

Why so late? :(

Is someone in Romania who has received this email?

omg, I ordered mine october the 26th, I will get it then in july i suppose :(
I did not recieve any mail yet, Im from Romania too, did they send you a telephone number or something?

Wow, I feel like we've all been ripped off.

I took pics as i was flipping through mine last night.

I suggest if you havent got it yet, go out to the party store or somethin and buy a pair of cheapy gloves since i noticed the ONE page i touched with my bare hands made finger prints all over the page  i wiped them down and everything is fine now but just know that you can get prints on it really fast

the book is beautiful and it is well worth the money imo. if you can buy it, get it. the quality is well worth the money. if i went out to the store and saw this and had no idea of the price i would easily say it would be more than $1,000 :D It is just perfection in book form. Michael would have loved this so much

for the people that are getting one, i suggest that you clear off a good.....3ft square space for this before you get it:lol: i have it stored on a shelf above my tv currently. its SO massive the only other place it would fit in my room is on my bed

anything else you wanna ask just ask here or pm me :D

if you want i could make a video of it on youtube.

.........

ok  *goes to make it*

:bugeyed
eeeeek
I don´t know what to say!!
I really get pissed off with the whole thing.
Ordered my Opus in August from Ticketmaster...and still got nothing...no Opus...I hope it will arrive till Tuesday...

They didn´t stay to any promise they have made ore any offer they made for the Opus! (dont know if this is the right way to say it, my english is not so good..)

But....
Just One Glove (okay they are cheap... but:no:...they have offered two...also they sayed first the gloves are not to honor Michael. It is to keep the book in a good condition!! And this is the reason why every other Opus comes with two gloves!!)

No Opus Reality Card (we have to print...and didn´t they say Opus Reality is working at the END OF JANUARY)

They promise they will ship the Opus on 7th December....(oooh yeeeah I know the weather...)

And know the book is getting cheaper !!! (thats the most important thing that pisses me off!!!)

wow.......thats horrendous...........wow ..... well maybe if you couldnt afford the higher price before, you can afford this ? :D

has anyone in the united states not gotten their opus yet. I have not received mine and I am upset.

I just checked my Ticket master reciept for Opus, here is what it states (Look carefully at the "event date"):
