NEW SONG - Akon feat. Michael Jackson "Hold my hand" [updates in post #1]

i heard the song on french radio while i was there last week.my bro who works in radio and heard the song said it sounded like a proper demo cd and not just a download. akons album has been poushed back from what ive read so i doubt there will be any single release until something happens with his album. i doubt it being leaked has anything to really do with it
 
This song is a bunch of nicely structured pleasant-sounding string chords put together and really no different from any other chart junk. Michael sounds absolutely amazing however, but thats not the point.

Who cares about this song - I really hope (and I know) that MJ's album will have far far far better songs.

This song is about Akons level, not Michael's - although Mike does make it more special.
 
Again i say don't loose hope. If this is supposed to be Akon's first single, then it will be. I won't loose hope until Akon releases another song for his first single. Akon's album release was pushed back...so we're still waiting.
 
the Ashanti track is surprisingly good. Akon is churning out hit after hit.

positive. i was sat in my hire car in nice. the station was something like skyrock my bro said its one of the major R&B stations out there
 
Well, all I have to say is that MJ is very popular in the USA. The radio plays his songs here in Philly all of the time and I tell people that I was a fan of MJ. I got my share or lovers of Mike and haters of Mike. However, I get that with Justin, Ne-Yo, Usher, Alicia, Whitney, etc. So, it doesn't bother me.

So, blank, you made some points, but truly, no one that was hot or exteremly popular in the 1980s has that populairity now. I am not saying that they are not popular anymore, they are still popular. Just take a look at the websites dedicated to them - still has fans and the like. That is a sign or popularity. I am saying that they are not as popular as they were during their prime. It is just how it is. To put MJ on the spot like that and then say you are a huge fan is a bit laughable. Madonna, Prince and Janet did not go through 25% of what MJ went through but they are not as popular as they once were during their prime.

If Hold My Hand is the first single from Akon's new Acquitted album then it could be released as early as late August... (Michael's birthday anyone?). Usually artists release their first single 4-8 weeks (sometimes more) before the albums launch.
