NEW SONG - Akon feat. Michael Jackson "Hold my hand" [updates in post #1]

I havent heard the song yet but can,t wait too. Is this song ging to be released soon. Well as soon as i know where to get it i,m runnung to the store to get it. I sure hope all this is true. Can,t wait.

I dont reckon that there will be announcements about a single release. Where is the surprise element if we are warned or told whats coming out?;)
 
To me, if they are putting so much effort into yanking it off of the web, then they must be planning on releasing it.

I think that they had some special plans on how they wanted to release this song and they don't want that messed up by leaks.

Before we even HAD the leak there was the rumour that the song was done and ready, and having a video at the end of the month. Then song leaks, which proves it exists, so who knows about the video. I can definately see it coming out officially on radio soon. A small leak wont effect that. The T25 tracks all leaked in advance, remember.

And, leaks arent all that bad for success anyways. People often take time to warm to a song, so therefor a leak can be helpful. Eg. Ushers "Love In This Club" was leaked and they actually let it be leaked all over radio for a few weeks, then advance the official release date and put it out on radio and it went to #1 in its second week of official release or something like that. The video then followed.

But yeah thats just an example.:)
 
Yeahhhh. Somethin' is goin' down. That song came out, shot across the globe and then went away. Now, they're all quiet and stuff? Ah-ah. This leak is just the beginning of something else.

Mike and 'em are entirely tooooo quiet. They haven't even issued a press release tellin' people to stop uploading it to YouTube. They're just quietly removing them as they surface one-by-one.

This is gettin' GOOD!!!

The thing is, this leak hardly reached anyone. Think about it. It had what, a total of 100,000 views over all the different versions that were uploaded. Those views were only of people subscribed to the peoples channel, MJ fans and the friends of MJ fans who we linked to it. It reached basically NO ONE. The leak has done NO harm. NONE of my friends or anyone i know have heard about it until i tell them. The record label would realise that this leak has been so small that its almost as if it never happened, really.
 
I'm gonna be old as dirt when this song comes on the radio.

But it's true, the majority haven't heard the song. I'm willing to bet that most people weren't waiting online for a new Michael Jackson release. It was online for what? Somewhere around 24 hours? By the time it hit the mainstream blogs, the song had been uploaded then quickly removed.

I can bet one thing, though... this song is gonna be old as hell to MJ fans when everyone else gets to hear it for the first time. :lol:
Can you just imagine waiting at the stop light and the radio station saying it's the premiere of a new Akon/MJ track... you look over and see the person in the other car next to you singing to the whole song, knowing every single lyric? lol

i have heard only a couple of radio stations around the world who have played it.
it hardly reached anyone. radio here in aust has never heard of it.
polls showed that alot of people had not heard it (until mjjc, max jax etc all mass voted that we love it)
youtube is not allowing it to be online.
i dont see how it has reached many people.

So I haven't heard anything about it being officialy released? What's going on with that? I mean I really do think this song is a good way to re-introduce Michael as an artist to the public. It would be unfortunate if it isn't released.
 
As much as i cant stan Akon, it's nice to hear something new from MJ. only wish he would do it along with better or even actual artist, but its nice to hear something new! WOOT

well..lol...i think you underestimate the size of the fanbase...it IS many people..lol

we can't be the only fast uploaders around...

we are the only ones however who check a forum every day where links are provided TO US to quickly download these things. it was on youtube not even 24 hours before removal. a video will go up every few days to be removed that same day. radio as a majority are not playing it either. i have friends who are incredibly big MJ fans, but dont frequent the forums, who had NO idea about this song. Same for Akon fans i know. And no, im not underestimating the size of the MJ fanbase.. because his fanbase is enormous! But the size of the ONLINE FORUM fanbase who have heard this song due to searching for it online or seeing it on a MJ forum is low. There arent many fans like us here on these forums. We are a small small small portion of the overall picture.

Thank you. We ain't the only ones who heard it now. It's silly to say that a lot of people "hardly recognized" it. The day after it was leaked, it was like in 100 blogs/news stories!

Forums are a small community, dawg. You can't count that as wanting to prove that no one noticed HMH. If they notice Michael and notice Akon and heard about this song, it's gonna get talked about. You done forgot that everybody was hearing this song on the same day and some weren't even MJ fans, lol.

well...i understand what you are saying...but the internet is not like a phone...it's free. at least where i am at..in many states in the usa...

and..at a time when i was living in shelters...i knew of people fromt the streets who would go in to public libraries and go on the library computers, on the net for free. and..in depressed neighborhoods, with people with really cheap radios, who turn it up when MJ music is on...people who you would never hear from because of their economically depressed situation, but may have been on the net and know of the song, and are enjoying it in their head....i'm just saying..we never know for sure...
 
I just heard Hold My Hand on Trevor Nelson's (www.bbc.co.uk/radio1) show. He does appear to like the song, saying it will be a hit in Dubi and places like that.

I don't like the song very much, and I hope it doesn't get released.
 
What Damien is saying is really the reason why Sony deems it worth ordering Youtube to take the song down. If they thought that the song was out there everywhere and leaked to millions of people, they wouldn't bother about getting it pulled off the net. But they know that the masses still have not heard that song. So they are really nipping this thing off before it starts like a fire. This is why I think we will still see it released.

Believe me, when it does get released, they will sell tons of it.
 
Alot of people still haent heard this song. I'm a huge MJ fan, and i didn't even hear it or even know it existed til last night.

Let's face it. Michael just isnt popular, nor in people's minds right now. So no one is going to go online and goto a MJ forum, or even search for new MJ music. It's just not going to happen.

The only way people will find this song is if it actually gets released and has airplay, and is played for people without them knowing etc.

what do you mean by MJ isn't popular? are his legions of fans non existent?

or do you define popularity by the way radio supposedly treats him? his trial and the way the media covered it proves he is popular. when negativity reaches the front page news on an artist, and takes the place of world events...that means that that artist is still popular, whether or not radio is treating him in a conventional way. when ryan seacrest is asking about him, every week, almost..or some artist is giving props to MJ in a song, as often as MJ is getting them...that means MJ is still popular. and that is what is happening.

people who are winning reality show contests by singing renditions of MJ material proves that MJ is still popular.

I mean he isnt popular. People may like his old music, but he isnt popular now. I do not even know one MJ fan in real life, and i live in the USA in a real populated area. People respect his older days, but they see him as a joke now, which does make me mad, but its the reality of the matter.

i think all that will change once he starts making good music again, as he has obviously with this new song.

I don`t agree. The media has always tried to tell the public that MJ is hated & not populare anymore – yes he is hated by some ignorant people – but the interesting fact is: many people love Michael Jackson! Yes, he is still populare around the world.

Michael´s appearance at this fashion designers B-day in US for example. The crowd went wild about his appearance (even this wasn`t a fan event!). A public reaction for a person who`s "not populare" - tough in US? - No, I don`t think so. Then his strong sales of Thriller 25 (over 2 million sales worldwide, one of the best selling records in 2008) - and the list goes on. So, I can`t agree with your "truth".
