NEW SONG - Akon feat. Michael Jackson "Hold my hand" [updates in post #1]

Ive just heard the song for the very first time. Its really beautiful!!!! I love it. I was so excited when i heard the first verse. Mr.Jackson is singing as Great as ever!!!!:D
 
great. thx for the lyrics. i find this song really good. i love michael 's voice. but no whooooouuuu ! , so it's different
 
What I love about this song is that each time listening to it uncovered a new sound to be heard. There are layers here and much of Michaels ad libs are tucked away, not on the forefront of the song so you have to be listening closely to every part. Like a delicious dish, they are the subtle spice that blends in making the dish wonderful, but unless you are paying attention, you won't taste the spice on it's own or distinguish it apart from the dish to tell what it is. It sets it apart from other songs with this added care and attention. I love that they are subtle, to be felt, and heard only when paying close attention.
 
quite frankly, i would like to know wtf is going on with Universal Records

why aren't they releasing this song yet?

AND AKON!

I mean, before we heard this record, Akon was talking to anybody who would listen to him about MJ being on his new record. Now that we have had an opportunity to hear the song, Akon is NOT talking. LOL!

I would like to know why HE is being so quiet. We all know Mike ain't gonna say anything, but since this is Akon's joint, I certainly expected to hear from him. He was bragging about this joint for the longest, now where is he and how come all of a sudden he ain't talking.

Yea, I wonder what is up with Akon.

I mean like.. if he fears EVERYONE has heard the song (being the reason he might not do anything with this song), then he is wrong. Most of the world has not heard this song yet, and the ones who heard it are waiting some kinna release from him so the others can hear it too. :lmao: IDK... Akon might be busy with touring or whatever... we don't know what is up with his schedule.. but I hope we have some sort of info from him or some person who is involved with this song/collab soon..

This sudden lack of communication regarding the collaboration may mean a few things:

1. The song deal fell through and for whatever reasons (personal, legal) it will not be released.

2. There is pressure from Michael or the record label to not highlight the song anymore as it will allow more people to know about it thus...illegal downloading.

3. Akon for whatever reason (Michael, record label, personal decision) has decided to hold back on his new album release thus delaying the single.

4. Akon plans to release the single very soon and doesnt want anymore attention given to it so that the song will still be fresh upon release, thus he has stopped talking about.

**I DO NOT think his touring has anything to do with the sudden lack of communication because touring is a great way to promote new singles and IF Akon knew for sure the song would be released very soon then he would begin promoting it by singing it in his concerts. And I was at Akon's concert last night...the man did not even mention Michael Jackson's name.

It COULD be any of these, or maybe something different alltogether. #4 makes me the most excited HOWEVER I think realistically it is a combo of #2 & 3

I hope there's not gonna be a video for this one. It's a good Akon song and it can help improving Michael's image but now he needs to focus on his own material.

You're right but that was true 15 years ago. I think it's not that easy for him today, I think he really needs to concentrate.
 
I think it would kind of be cool if they have MJ's silhouette in small parts of the video in parts just grooving to the music a bit..

Keeping him in, but too hidden.. Get people keep looking, and looking.. and waiting.. create that whole mysterious thing going..

Agree. :flowers: Btw... they are still very vigilant with keeping the song off of youtube so yay! I think that's a good sign...sorta kinda. lol
 
There's info on KOP that Akon will be on 106 & Park next week according to their hosts to present some new artist. Maybe they will ask him about HMH.

Hmmm, interesting. I'll be sure to tune in to see whats' up. :D
Could be anything.. from artists he is working with like Tami Chynn.. Colby O' Donis...cause they do have new music coming out.. or could be Michael Jackson, in terms of new artist.. in his new song lol.

Well if he's there to present this new artist, askin' about HMH would take attention away from the main thing... so i doubt he'll say anything, let alone the two hosts. :unsure:

So word is that Akons album aint even finished. Well thats a contradiction of what he said in Feb. He said his album was ready to go and that Hold My Hand with MJ is on it. He said his NEXT album AFTER this upcoming one was ready too and that if you gave him 30 days he could have it done. So now we are back to him not even finishing the first one? Im confused.

I knew this was going to happen. The MJ thing got to him. :lol: He might end up taking it out, lol.

Another song associated with MJ that doesn't end up getting released (Katrina song, the 2Seas project, etc). No I'm not saying that it won't be released but it is still a possibility especially if, if KOPV's right, Akon said to someone "I don't like what they're doing and I'm not gonna talk about it any further", that we could be looking at a dead end rather than a beginning, dig?
 
I just simply think Akon delayed his album and does not have a release date because of Mikes album.. I think he wants to use Mikes comeback to launch him to another level aswell..

Think about how big Akons album would be if he releases it when Michael releases his..

Akon on an MJ album would get him major exposer.. Then release his album with Michael on it.. MORE exposer.. (or vice versa) either one released first would work well for Akon.. Especially if the release dates are really close to each other.
 
Yall gotta realize too.....isn't Akon a part of the Sony family as well? So I think that Sony is gonna do what is best for both of these artist and what gives the maximum success. Akon may not be the hold up. The record label may be the hold up. I don't think that Akon would want to hold up a song that features him singing with a legend like Michael. No....he would want that out there for sure.

I think there is a lot of record label hoopla going on behind the scenes. But I think they will eventually end up releasing the song...especially after they get tired of Akon whinning about it. Cause I betcha that is what he is doing. He wants that song out there more than Michael, betcha.

When is this song gunna come out? Its been like over 2 weeks since the leak already. Maybe MJ and Akon have recorded another duet on top of Hold My Hand? You never know...I just want some details on both of their next projects!
