I dont understand why so many people are against Akon here. Michael isn't the be-all-end-all to the music industry.

Well... I just got a job as a junior publicist which starts next Monday. Hopefully in a few months i'll be able to see the other side of the story with things like "leaks" etc etc. It's in the music industry as well so thats an added bonus.

I don't understand it either, but at least they are incredibly supportive and loving the song. We cant force people to like who they don't. Freedom of choice and all that. I like Akon.:D

I don't think it's good that the radio played it....I mean Akon and Michael won't be happy about the leaking and they surely don't want the song to be played now, when the single isn't officially released! That's my opinion!
I mean, I love the song, but think of Michael! He won't be happy about that!

I always thought you hated Akon, Datsy! lol...

I was never his biggest fan and I love the genre, however the mix with him and Michael is near flawless. I love how everyone is picking apart the song and saying how they love how he pronounces certain things, the pitch he sings in different areas etc etc... You can tell people were craving Michael's music at an almost insane level, haha.

:D I only knew AKOn for the first time when he had the Trnidadiangate. Up until then I didn't know any of his music. I still don't know his music except that Momma Africa, which I really like. I also like his voice. It reminds me of home in the caribbean and of Bob Marley. He has a distict voice which is common to caribbean people. I can see the islands rocking to Hold my hand.
Akon's behaviour leaves a lot to be desired, but I honestly feel that it can be straightened out, and that is what MJ is going to do. You will see a brand new Akon.:D

I still don't like what he did to that girl in Trinidad, or what he did to that boy at his concert. That was just plain wrong. That doesn't mean that he is an evil person. Just misguided. I believe he is a good person that did some silly things. I feel that he has learnt his lesson and has moved on. I like his sound.

I know I stated that I was not a fan of Akon but the song is alright. I do not mind Akon on the song with MJ. It is about what the song is saying and that it is good to hear something new from Mike.

I also think that if some people do not like Akon, or today's music climate in general, they should say it. I do not agree with the insults, but they should say it.

BTW, I never saw a staff member posting a warning about fans disrespecting artists when certain members were trashing Usher, Justin, Chris Brown, etc. on this board countless times. I am just saying.

i still dont dig akon but i do like that specific song. would i like it if michael was not on it ? yeah sure just not as much as i do now :)
things are not always black or white. i dislike many artists yet i can like some or many of their songs. akon has a crappy voice imo and most of his songs have been trash so generally i dislike him but i do like a few of his songs like this one for example.

It's probably only played in Europe. America don't touch leaked tracks until they're sure they're about to be released.

I never disliked Akon. I didn't even know him. I first heard of Akon when he had the problem in Trinidad. I joined in the debate on his behaviour on the thread here. I defended the dance in so far as it is a caribbean style dance but I condemned the way he treated that girl, not just because oof her age, but because of his handling of women in general, I also didn't like that he picked up that boy and threw him off the stage, but I was never vociferously against him.

I listened to his music on youtube and felt that he had a good sound that I liked. I defended him against attack with regards to his criminal records, remember?

That sucks. I listened to the radio this morning and they did not play the song. I will listen to the radio again and see if they play the song.
