I really hope we get some clarification soon as to whether this song will actually be a single. I hope it doesnt get cut off the album. That MTV article really worries me because it appears that Akon's label doesn't even know the title of his next album which means the release of the album is still several months away. It also appears there is still lots of work to be done on Akons album meaning AKon did not expect to release it anytime soon. From that article I get the feeling that Akon planned to release the new album maybe later in 08 such as November, December. This leak I believe could have potentially screwed up both Akon and MJ's plan. I hope that is not the case however Akon did not seem happy about it being leaked all over the net. This single has the potential to be a huge global hit and it would be a shame not to release it. I hope MJ and AKon work something out to allow it to still be released.

MTV don't know ish. Akon said a while ago that the album was done and that MJ WILL BE ON IT. There was no question.

Heard it on the radio last night too...

In fact, they had a Thriller 25 special...1 hour of T25 music, chart stats and info on Mike's achievements, ending the special with 'HMH' and announcing (sp?) it as Akon's new single ft MJ.

Now I can't remember the last time I heard an MJ special on radio and b4 this I had only heard one song from T25 played.

P.S. Through the whole thing, not a single bad comment about him...

I really LOVE the exchange between Akon and MJ at certain part of the song where it sounds as if Akon is singing to MJ and MJ respnds by singing Yeah. I think it is very cute and very brave of them. I also feel that Akon is empathising with MJ and saying that he understands what he is going through and he will be there to support him because he understands. I feel the pain that Akon feels there and I feel that that is the place where MJ sounds most volnerable and even weak and weary in the song. At this very point Akon also sours and becomes much stronger vocally.
I am really loving this song. It is very cleverly done.

I Love this track so much!!
My whole family likes it too,everybody tells me they are so glad to see Michael back and cant wait to see him back where he belongs and thats top of the charts.
Apparantly a clip of the track was played yesterday on a Birmingham Radio station and got a great review by the presenter,funny how quick news Travels when it comes to the king.

If radio stations are playing it and since it's already leaked, Akon and his record company need to react and just release the single. Even if the album is 2-3 months away the cat is out of the bag and they have to ride the momentum that is building. Waiting on it is very risky.

Italian R101 radio plays 'Hold My Hand'

An italian fan just reported that the national italian radio Radio101 has just aired 'Hold My Hand' saying it's the new single from Akon feat. Michael who, even though he sings few lines, he's able to embellish the song making it beautiful.
The deejay continued to praise Michael and said how his maestry can be felt even when he sings a little

Also I love how michae subtly added emotion and attitude to the song when he sung. Like after the end of the first verse just before the chorus michael says, "so if yah juUUUSSSSSSSSSSt!" Michael betsta GO, wit his bad self. lol

I love michael on this song. I would love to hear it in better quality tho'!

I KNOW!!! I love that part - how he punches that word, lol. I love his whole part. omg, it makes me feel happy but sometimes still brings tears to my eyes because his voice is just soooooo beautiful it gets to me. At the end of each verse when he draws out the last note and then goes up and down (I can't think of the word for it). I love it though!!

TSCM bought up a very good question: Did anyone actually see footage of Akon telling the paps that he was upset or angry that the song was leaked? That would have been online by now. Just wondering. I am not trying to start anything.

BTW, that is great that it is already being played on the radio. I am going to listen to the radio and hear if they are gonna play the song on the radio.

Michael ALWAYS uses "flash-in-the-pan/flavor of the minute" on his album.. He takes what's hott (right now) and uses what lives on forever with it.. But Shaq is an ICON outside of music. He's not flash in the pan. Neither was Teddy Riley or Slash or Michael Jordan or Heavy D or Chris Tucker or Paul McCartney or Stevie Wonder. All of these people have a legacy of their own (it may not be a big legacy, but it's a legacy or an impact---they didn't just pop up out of nowhere and go do something with Mike).

And Akon really does not need his record sales boosting. Akon doesnt need Michael Jackson. I think Akon wants to make great music, thats all. He must have visions of collaborating with certain artists and work out if it will be good or not. I see Michael needing him a little bit more than Akon needs Mike. Also record companies dont pair artists up, the artists obviously will choose who they want to work with.

I re-watched the VH1 Hip Hop honors the other night and My goodness how music has fallen off the deep end. They were doing throw backs to the hip hop of yesteryear and you can't tell me there hasn't been a gigantic drop off in quality. There's no comparison. As soon as corporations decided they could pimp R&B and Hip Hop (and Rock for that matter), they destroyed it.

I definately think there's something going on with the song. The leaking was intentional. Otherwise... there are some very naïve people working at the label.

But as far as 'something going on' is concerned: I mailed the song to a Dutch dj. Did this before with things, and he ALWAYS answers my mails. And he did play the 'Gangster' song that was out there last year. This time around, he's not playing the song (and he's a huge Jackson-fan) and he's not answering my mails about it. So.... am I reading too much into it, or is there a deal of some sort with the record company for a certain date?

Hmmm... Intriguing Hoof.... I so dig this build up to EXPLOSION stage! HA!
