NEW SONG - Akon feat. Michael Jackson "Hold my hand" [updates in post #1]

While I can admit that the song would be a Hit, it is a hit for today. Here today, gone tomorrow. That's what Akon is good at doing. Furthermore, his hits have no shelf-life whatsoever. Michael has produced tonnes of hits decades ago that are still played frequently today on radios and in clubs. Akon on the other hand.. well can you imagine everyone still listening to Smack That in 30 years time? I. Don't. Think. So.

In 30 years people will still talk about how great "I Want You Back", "Billie Jean" and "Bad" are. No one would remember who Akon is in 30 years. ;)

ok...forged a partnership vs. signed a contract. i'm not going to bother with commenting on that one for now..

but what say ye..on Michael mentioning the word 'conspiracy', in a Jesse Jackson radio interview?

Well it's accurate to state that he forged a partnership with the Prince of Bahrain.... what we don't know is if he actually signed a contract to be on his label -- thus the lawsuit.

MJ's discussion on conspiracy, in my mind, has to do with the individuals who were around him at that time -- including peeps who were working on his behalf -- trying to steal his freaking money.

Exactly. We are afterall talking about the guy who said, and I quote "to make a hit, it has to have a clap in there" (referring to the *clap* sound effect used in almost every pop song nowdays).. Michael is known for his innovation. Akon.. well he is so standard and mainstream with his producing it's not funny.

"Hooold myyy hand.... Saaaaave myyy fans"....
The nights are gettin' darkerrrr... (Save my fans)
So tell me what we're waiting forrrrr? (NoOOothinng)
We're better off not worrying so.. (Hold My Hand?)
Then bein' miz-rah-bull on this soooOOOoooOnggg..

SKIIP TO CHORUS OH YEAH. :woohoo:

"The song's goonnneee.. BABAY I PRUMUSS Youu, it iiisss donnnneee" :mello:

Ok, enough of my random "singing".

Someone needs to hold Akon's mouth and close it WITH his hand.

:tease:
:hysterical: Oh gosh..

:bugeyed

Why do i let my hopes get up so high, just to let it come crashing down. I am sorry, but i am getting impatient now, all the delays, all the third party sources, nothing concrete. Mike just tell us what is up, please

Admit it, Michael made you like the song for the one verse he had. ^_^

Haha, I know that's true for me!
I think it's a catchy song, but like someone said, nothing that will last for awhile.
If it didn't have MJ to get me excited for, I wouldn't listen to it nearly as much as I have.

I don't get how you equate possible litigation for conspiracy. It's no secret that MJ is being sued by the Prince of Bahain for breach of contract. If MJ is contracturally tied to 2Seas Records, then it would explain a lot as to why that song is not on Akon's CD. 2Seas would have the release rights for Jackson to appear as a guest on that CD and if they are tied up in litigation, they simply will not give it. Further, if Akon's label use MJ without their consent, they would also sue Akon's label as well.

No conspiracy there.

That's exactly what I meant. Plain and simple, alegedly Michael signed a contract with 2Seas, they're suing him now for breach of contract, the thing hasn't been settled yed, therefore it makes sense that Michael simply can not put out music until this is sorted out.
Yes I said 'alegedly signed a contract', but you can't call that pure speculation, we all know there's a lawsuit so obviously there is a contract, otherwise it would have been dismised.

I really don't see how it could be a conspiracy.

Why would Akon dump a "Global smash" with a legend?
1. Legal reasons and Michael can't release anything yet.
2. They realised that HMH isn't a global smash. And it's now on Michaels "Never will be realeased song cemetery"
3. Michael will have it soley on his album. (hope not in that form we've heard)
4. They realised that HMH is not a global smash!
5. Some Akon-hating MJ fan stole it and hide it and they can't find it.

no one has claimed to know the fact for the hold up.of course ppl are speculating. but its not hard to think that the bahrain lawsuit COULD have something to do with it

So...HMH still might be on the album? Awesome. I hope.

And if legal reasons were why it couldn't be on there, then how did T25 happen? It had new material.

I have Ne-Yo's CD and that's true.. LOL first came out this "tracklisting" online... but when really on the Album itself, it's very different, showed it was really really wrong. :):bugeyed

I don't know if this is the case with this... maybe, maybe not, just gotta wait til' it releases.

OK. Sorry guys if you are gonna kill me after this...BUT - if it was Michael who ordered the song off the album, then he is CRAZY!

This might be his only chance to have a number one hit in the decade, and if he had already recorded it, why remove it?

I am the first one against him collaborating with those pricks like Akon and alike, but I am 100% CERTAIN that Hold My Hand would be a global smash hit,and one of the more known songs of Mike's in the last 10 years.

Did you know that in the newspapers, with the list of ringtones to order HOLD MY HAND IS ON THE TOP 10???

What else can I say? I just pray that Akon releases the song on the album. Really.

What would convince you that Michael was the one to drop it? It's technically not even his song, how can you tell some other artist who sung most of the song to drop it? Why 'cause you won't do the music video?

UM! Michael would not have the right not to have Hold My Hand on Akons album.. He could say don't use his vocals, and Akon could just go to Whitney and record with her like originally planned.. But to take the 'Hold My Hand' track all in all.. Michael does not have the right.. lol! He just has control over his voice, and where it goes.. Not a song that belongs to someone else.

Well anyway Akon should clear it up. Clearly Michael isn't saying SH*T... so why does Akon feel that he has to be silent. You're NOT Michael, dummy.
