NEW SONG - Akon feat. Michael Jackson "Hold my hand" [updates in post #1]

HMH has joined the Katrina single now. I wonder what project will join them next?

So when exactly are they releasing this song? I thought it was going to be in October. I just want to see Michael and hear him talk. I really miss him and his wonderful music. Hope things are going well for MJ and his children. I love you, Michael! :)

didnt you read back a little?
it may well be never the tracklisting has been released and HMH werent on it.
But you never know Akon might do a special addition or MJ might just release his own version
But like I said I'm going to stop talking I already said my RIP's and burnt HMH lol

I sincerely believe that something is happening with Michael Jackson.Akon spoke in interviews about HMH.He also spoke very excited about HMH's video...And suddenly everything ended?
Without any explication of Akon?Strange...

I think WE ALL NEED TO CHILL... there juss has been soo much hype for this song...and we base the official annoucements on inaccurate sources...

Bravo was obviously Hogwash!.. EVEN though Akon did talked about Hold My Hand.. HE NEVER said a release date......

Let's not FORCE anything!!!...Akon and Mike have their plans... :punk:

I think akon is not gonna release this song anymore. If there is going to be a collaboration of them together, than it's gonna be probably a different song, and this one will remain unreleased. It's all because the song got leaked. it got leaked because it was a duet with Michael. Therefore there was an extra interest, to that song. If akon really got mad at the leak, you can get why, he doesn't want to release it. Plus, I also don't think, it was meant to be an MJ song, I don't think it is a strong enough song first of all, and there is no chance MJ would release it now.

Thanks for the updates. :flowers: I'll just quote an older post of mine from this thread and highlight some things.

I agree. To be honest, Akon pretty much told everyone in a way that HMH would NOT be HIS first single in the last video we saw. :flowers:

There are a couple of scenarios that could play out from this point on...with the song STILL appearing on his album. We just have to wait and see. In fact, this is sorta kinda good news becuz if he was right about HMH NOT being HIS FIRST single in that video, then.... :shifty: Again, we have to see HOW this will all play out. No need for meltdowns or bitchfests, imo. I don't see that happening until both albums are released and there's no HMH to be seen/heard whatsoever. And even then, being as the song leaked, it wouldn't be surprising if it got shelved. However, as of 2 weeks ago, Akon was still raving about it, so it seems to be something he and MJ are keen on doing. It's just a matter of when, imo. :fortuneteller:

ALSO, I have to say I LOVE how Akon's single just came out and is on itunes without ANY promotion whatsoever. He'll probably begin to promote it now, BUT the idea that the song has dropped and is getting airplay almost out of nowhere is a good sign that Michael could do the exact same thing. It could just land on our heads at any given time. YAY! And THEN the promotion can begin.

Now, having said all that, what I think ppl should keep in mind is that we don't know what's going to happen til it happens considering how quickly things seem to be changing. Now, Akon's album is coming out in November, but it's at the end of November around Thanksgiving so it might as well be December when you think about it. lol AND the title has changed. I thought of that title for MJ's album but thought ppl might confuse it with the George Michael song? Anyhoo, it seems like things are FINALLY starting to roll with Akon's first single released. And the fact that it's NOT HMH could be a good thing...at least from my pov.

We'll probably have another piece to the puzzle when Akon's CD is actually released. Then we'll know whether he even has HMH on there at all. The reason I say we have to wait til the CD is actually released is becuz Ne-Yo's final tracklisting changed from the time we read about it to the time the CD was actually on store shelves. Nothing is final it seems UNTIL you actually see it or have it in your hands these days. ;D

You guys are soo negative..

Ughhhhhhh..

True. However, the song just might be dead at this point and gone to Katrina Song heaven. :( We know a lot of things happen that are beyond Michael's control so it's a possibility that HMH is a ghost. I think it's still too early to tell as there are still a few doors left open for the song...whether it be in the form we've already heard or a newer/changed version that could be used later...or some other strategies that I don't want to speculate on. Imma take BYTD's lead and stop talking. :fear:

Official Tracklisting of Akon's 'Freedom' Comes Out

October 17, 2008 07:19:09 GMT

From a just-revealed tracklisting of Akon's upcoming 'Freedom' LP, it can be seen Michael Jackson, who was rumored to be one of his collaborators, not making a guest appearance.

Official tracklisting of Akon's third major studio album "Freedom" has been revealed. Despite reports claiming that Michael Jackson will be featured on the set, the album has named Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, T-Pain, Ray Lavender, and Wyclef Jean as his collaborators and missed out Jackson on the list.

Scheduled to be dropped on November 25 through Konvict Muzik, Akon's record is produced by himself teaming up with Giorgio Tuinfort. Picking up "Right Now (Na Na Na)" as its lead single, his forthcoming album is aimed to follow up his 2006 second LP, "Konvicted".

Cheers, Im not suprised though lol

Who decided to remove the song featuring the world's biggest star ever? Akon seemed to want the song, so Akon needs to fire someone.

Either Akon's an idiot, which is plausible considering his actions towards other people, or some legal thing got in the way OR... Michael said "screw it, this song ain't good enough for me", but I doubt that somehow. Anyway, like, who cares. lol. We have it anyway. We'll just have to wait for Michael to put his own album out, which is what we're all waiting for anyway.

This would have been a way bigger deal for Akon then for Michael either way.

Well, reading the rest of this thread - I could care less what happened to HMH. To be honest, I am glad it is not on Akon's cd because I personally do not like the fact that MJ did a song with that guy. This is the same dude that has no issue throwing his fans off the stage. This is a guy that has made some really disrespectful songs about women. This guy has said some things regarding MJ that was not true like MJ being in a Superbowl commercial. Look, I think some fans need to let go of the HMH single being release and move on from it. That song was an good song because MJ's vocals were in it. Not because of Akon. So, goodbye to the song and good riddance.

mj is more of a toss-up right now, real talk

LOL. The real talk is that MJ was never a "toss up" and will never ever be a "toss up". You don't toss up a LEGEND. Please. It is sad that people like Lil Wayne sold more of his current cd than Nas. It is sad that Akon is known as a "singer" and not another whining singer. It sucks to turn on the radio and hear that whining voice yelling or screaming or whatever he does for a living about some nonsense that people really don't care about. The industry is a joke. So understand that if MJ is a "toss up" then the music industry is nothing more that complete garbage.

Or maybe MJ read this thread and was like "akon you gotta hush up dude I'm retracting the song no offence but my fans hate you so I'm gonna go ahead and record this song alone or just scrap it depends how I feel once the albums done. So dont go telling anyone you're releasing it!! or you'll look a bit of an ass (In the best possible way of course) Hope you get this message before you do!
Love you more"

in any case, Akon's voice is more listenable than justin timberlate's.
