Neyo was on Jo Wiley's show today on Radio 1. You can listen to it online (it's toward the end of the show:

He basically said that he is working on the new MJ album explained that he has been communicating with Mike about the new music he's been sending him. He said he didn't know when the new album will be released, well he actually said "I can't say soon". Although he is working with Mike and they have had a meeting to discuss the sound for the new album they haven't actually been in the recording studio yet.

He said that Mike was really normal during the meeting, wearing a dark suit and aviator sunglasses. Ne yo's favourite MJ songs are Off The Wall, Lady In My Life and Who Is It. Jo played the Fall Out Boy version of 'Beat It' which Ne yo seemed to appreciate.


So nothing really that new accept a confirmation that Mike and Ne Yo still haven't been in the studio and Ne Yo is STILL sending material to him for review. This is as good as a confirmation to me that we won't see a new album this year, and maybe not even next year.

not confirmation...maybe MJ ain't feelin his songs like NeYo would like to think. Maybe MJ isn't gonna use them. But MJ has been in the studio for a WHILE...just cuz NeYo hasn't doesn't mean MJ isn't close to finishing or that we won't see an album this year.

Bottomline, Neyo seems to be out of the loop :lol: He don't know nothin really as far as MJ's concerned. Probably cuz MJ ain't telling him.
 
neyo has said enough he does NOT KNOW what MJ is gonna use. AND, neyo does not HAVE to be there when MJ cuts one of his tracks. The dude who wrote Hold My Hand wrote it for Akon to produce for Whitney Housten and MJ ended up on it... sooo just coz the songwriter does not know info doesnt mean that there has been no action taken.

also if neyo says he cant say its coming out soon, how do u explain this... and i quote...

Yes, yes. I am currently submitting songs for Michael Jackson's new project.. ahh I don't know when it's coming out.. Really not much else i can say about it other than I have had conversations with the man.. Ive actually met him.. You know we talked about where he wants to go this time and everything and um, the KEY thing he was saying is that to keep it very hush hush.. he don't want no song titles coming out, no nothin. He want's the world to be shocked and surprised when it comes out.

The bold... he definately wants it to come out soon... which came out of neyo's mouth, and he now says he CANT say soon. But he already did... 8 months ago... LOL!!!:lol:

Neyo is playing mind games. He says soon and we have 8 months with nothing... he said he CANT say soon and we will probs have one in a few months. Reverse psychology maybe? He wants surprise... so technically.. get our hopes DOWN, and SURPRISE us? IM DREAMING!

for me, there are only two explanations as to why on earth he would answer with "well i cant say soon"

1.) because he does not know when its being released.
2.) because it is being released soon, and he is not allowed to say.

I think your right about the fact that ne-yo doenst know shit about the project.
Michael said it himself that it will come sooner then they think.. in a phone call to his fans at the party!
So i guys ne-yo doenst know or hes indeed going out of the back door XD!
 
At what party did michael say and is it on utube anywhere. As far as the Album it will come out when Michael wants it to, i only hope it might be soon. anyways thanks for the news.
 
I think he has submitted songs for mj, mj is probably working on the music, Neyo is probably being kept in the dark as much as everyone else. Mike said that he will be back sooner than they think, which means to me that he knows when but he isn't telling.

I think we will have something this year, he wont prolong it, he can't afford to do that

Mike ain't releasing a new album until he's ready. That's about it. They couldn't force him to release an album when he was in his element throughout the 80's and 90's and nothing has changed since then. All the predictions will come and go. The bottom line is: It ain't comin' out until MIKE says so.

...and you're right --- it's obvious Mike ain't feelin' NE-YO's stuff---that's why he's still "reviewing" it. And rightfully so.

Or maybe because Ne-Yo is promoting his CD and was finishing up his new CD and haven't had the time to met up with MJ yet. Have you ever thought of that? I doubt you have. If MJ was not feeling what Ne-Yo is giving him then why is MJ accepting his e-mails and wants to meet up with his soon to discuss how MJ's music is going to sound? I think that some of you fans have this issue with MJ wannabees because you guys are insecure about something. You are putting your insecurities on this guy and I find it laughable.

Anyway, thank you for posting this tidbit. I cannot wait for what is in store.
 
Just because you're submitting song doesn't mean that you will be in the studio with him. I guess Michael gets a lot of songs and producing them alone or with someone else.
 
I am used to waiting, but what i meant is that the longer he leaves it the harder it will be, you know how things change in the music business, producers different sounds etc.

I feel that he wants everything out asap, you could tell by the phone call he made.

But you know mike, you just take what he says with a pinch of salt

It isn't a confirmation for nothing, but I think Ne-Yo isn't involved as he makes everyone think he is...

I believe he met Michael only few times.. he doesn't even know the 'deep voice':mello:

Right and I definitely agree with you.
 
Neyo's part is really looking like a writer for the project.. WRITERS usually don't know much about what's going on.. They are not PRODUCING anything, and not needed in the studio often if at all...

Neyo sends songs over, MJ tells him to work on parts, neyo resends.. And Mike does what he wants with them.. There is not much reason for Neyo to know anything.. I don't think Mike wants him in the production, just submit songs with 'great' melodies..
