Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

I presume its len rowes claim of working with the jacksons back in the 70s on tour?.theres no way they worked on dangerous etc tours

It says: "Our team have promoted tours for internationally acclaimed artists including Michael Jackson, Prince, The Jacksons, Ne-Yo, and Mary J. Blige and more." How could this be?

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

I am again speaking with Andy tomorrow regarding answers to my questions,

I wont back down, so they either do it with or with out, its a simple as that.

^^ That one.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

hmmmmm

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Please, elusive: What does this mean-----"theres no way they worked on dangerous etc tours" ?

I mean, L. Rowe has had not to do with the Dangerous-Tour. Wasn't Marcel Avram Michael's concert-manager on Dangerous- an HIStory-Tour?

It says: "Our team have promoted tours for internationally acclaimed artists including Michael Jackson, Prince, The Jacksons, Ne-Yo, and Mary J. Blige and more." How could this be?

Rowe was involved in Destiny (I believe....) but not Victory-Tour.
Rowe was sued by R. Kelly and Ne-Yo; both have won her (millions) complaints.

And thus Rowe makes advertisement for itself:

Thanks for the links. I also believe Marcel Avram was the promoter for both tours, Dangerous & History., I don't know about the Bad Tour, but I don't think Rowe had anything to do with the promotion of it that's why i don't understand Ja-Tail claims its team had promoted concerts for Michael Jackson.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Actually to me it seems more and more like a UK tribute concert.
Advertising has only been in the Uk and at least half of the artists are only known (or only known/supported widely) in the UK.
For instance I know Peter Andre from that one song he had in like '96 or '97. Other than that, I'm sure he is a nice guy but the rest of Europe hasn't heard from him since.

Looking at it from that angle makes it funny with them saying this is the one and only tribute. I guess his millions of fans around the rest of the world don't really have to be a part of this "one and only" tribute.....or I guess we shouldn't care who is performing just as long somebody is on that stage...

^^I see, so looking at it this way, we have the Jacksons putting on a UK concert for people in the UK especially Wales. I am wondering if the artists are grateful to the Jacksons for helping them showcase their talent. This concert might end up to be like UK Got Talent.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Given the stature Michael Jackson was and is as an artist, this so-called tribute is just a slap in the face, he deserves a whole lot better and its just sad to see that his own family does'nt seem to think so.

I agree

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

So today is Sunday/early Monday. Have there been any increase in sales over the weekend? This will be my main focus now--ticket sales. Since this concert is moving forward, I want them to make as little profit as possible from ticket sales. The next time, they will do it right, if they learn from their mistakes.

Peter Andre says the Michael Jackson tribute concert may not go ahead - mirror.co.uk
Michael Jackson obsessive Peter Andre has moonwalked his way into the *controversy surrounding the late *superstar’s tribute concert.

With the likes of Janet Jackson snubbing the October 8 event in Cardiff the singer reckons the concert may not even go ahead.

Speaking this week at Children In Need’s Pop Goes The Musical launch he said: “There’s a lot of controversy surrounding whether it’s going ahead because some family members don’t want it to.

“My name has been put forward to perform but I honestly don’t know if it will happen. If it doesn’t I feel like I’ve already done my tribute to Jackson. I loved it but now I’ve moved on to something else.”

Yes... the bargain bin.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

^^So Peter is just saying what he thinks. He thinks that it will not go forward because some of the Jacksons don't support it. No Peter. It is not because Janet and 2 boys do not support it. GLE knew that and still kept adding new artists. What will cause its failure is if the fans do not buy tickets, and artists like you do not take part. This is what GLE understands--the money factor.

MJHellas.gr response to GLE via email, no response since then ...

Dear Sir or Madam,

We the MJHellas.gr First Greek Michael Jackson Fan Community we would like to express our thoughts and concerns about the Michael Forever Tribute concert.

First and foremost we cannot support any concert or tribute that has not got the seal of approval of the MJ Estate. It is of vital importance that any project should be endorsed by what Michael himself wished and ordered. You are not even able to use Michael Jackson's name in your logo or any other MJ copyrighted property, something which is a big thorn to us. We adore and support MICHAEL JACKSON and ONLY HIM, not any other of the Jackson family or "any other Michael".

Secondly, is very sad to see that you are using Michael’s 82- year old mother for promotion. Since when Mrs Jackson became a tour promoter, manager organiser and advertiser at the age of 82? Why? Does that honor the memory of her lost son? Sadly, we think it does not. In addition, his children should be totally left out of any event, children are children, Michael wanted them that way and NOT celebrities running around striking posses to the Press or promoting events.

During his life Mrs Jackson refused to celebrate his birthday, so now why should you make a tribute on his death? That attitude takes away the respect we had for Mrs Jackson cause simply she acts like she is manipulated and controlled by someone, no different than all the vultures around him when he was alive. She is not the sweet Katherine we all loved anymore, she has become a clone of her husband Joe, and that makes us really sad. It feels like seeing Joe promoting his perfume or champagne for the memory of his lost “Entertainer” as himself has said when Michael passed away!

Thirdly and most importantly, THE TIMING of the event is ALL WRONG to coincide with the upcoming Murray's trial, it should be earlier or after it, so we can all see things differently. It is unfortunate to see his 82 year old mother flying overseas to try and reach both the trial and the event; you must respect her age.

Then the price of the tickets is way too expensive. The TII tour was far too cheaper and we are talking about an enormously VAST show and maybe the most expensive ever made and included MJ himself. Michael NEVER thought little, he thought BIG and it was all for us, his fans to please us, as he thought our love to him deserved the best reward. Your event sadly does not meet any of the standards Michael had for us with second class names, cancellations, indefinite line-up of artists changing all the time consisted of mainly TV reality personas, surely unknown to the rest of Europe or the world rather than the UK alone. We have learned now that Beyonce will make a video appearance instead of a live one, who is your best name to date, not a good PR move. Even the Jackson family line up is divided in 2, even Janet is out of the line, that is also bad PR.

Gene Simmons mistake was a terrible one that only shows that people who are organizing a Michael Jackson event DO NOT know anything about the artist!! We are still outraged, period.

Then do you think that fans are happy to see others singing or worse performing and dancing to his songs? We have news for you WE DO NOT, we prefer watching Smooth Criminal video for 1 zillion times in a big screen! Only Michael is our desire.

Then the charity issue, which is obviously an effort for tax relief rather than helping children. When Michael did United We Stand concert, things were totally different and clear to the audience. We saw at the GLE team is L. Rowe a person that Michael has shut his door to, so why should we trust him? And your company is a new founded one with projects mainly targeted to certain Jackson family members, not activity in the main showbiz scene. There were many people around him that vanished when Michael passed away and Mr Rowe was one of them, we were there before the 25th of June, we remember things.

Also the refund policy is unacceptable and unusual.

We are sorry for our hard language, we are his longtime fans and we do not cover up our words and thoughts, as you asked us to do so, and express ourselves freely to communicate. Take some lessons from the project the MJ ESTATE is working on THE IMMORTAL TOUR is something all fans are really looking forward to, all around the globe! Work with them, do not rush, then maybe fans will change their mind.

When you do a project it’s not wise to use Michael’s family and friends, simply use his art and the legacy he has left us the right way!

Remember we are Michael Jackson fans ONLY !

With respect,

www.MJHellas.gr <http://www.MJHellas.gr>

I am glad to see the fans clubs from different countries come together. I guess the only good thing about this "tribute" is that it re-united the fans.

Thank you for sharing this letter with us. Beautiful..and i am happy you raised all the major points:Kids, Estate and respect for MJ's legacy.

Many thanks to your group.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Now they got trash like peter andre signed up to this farce!!!!!

BTW........in the article, peter calls him J**** and not Jackson!

exactly,,,,,and again,,,,THEY didn't do their homework because anyone that had respect for Michael WOULD NEVER call him that name. SO yeah this whole thing continues to be one big fail from beginning to end. I am beyond caring what the family thinks about it when "supposed entertainers" make comments like this and THEN are still part of the "tribute concert" for Michael. Its sad and its disgusting that people like him will be the ones doing this. As long as the money changes hands that is all that THEY care about. Again another sad example of Feckery at its finest,,

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Whatever ELSE this has been, it's been extremely unprofessional. For any concert. . unprofessional. If Michael's "legacy" is a concern, then anything related to him really SHOULD be of the highest quality! There has been a stunning lack of info, from the get-go? The messiness of ticket-sales, the announcements dribbling in of who would or would not perform (or would be seen only on a screen?). The confusion about which charities would be helped, and at what percentage? (if at all?) And of course, the bogus trust-fund and the admission that it was to "help Katherine?" Excuuuuuse us? And of course, the KISS fiasco, stirring up the fans (and rightly SO!) And then? It was FANS who "misunderstood" and heard "rumors?" Nope. No misunderstanding there.

So either it'll be canceled, or it won't. And if not, it'll just limp ahead -- weakly? Michael deserves SO much better. . .

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

hi :waving:

i through this news goes will in this thread

[h=1]David Gest and Tito plan tour tribute to Michael Jackson[/h]David Gest, Tito Jackson, Rebbie Jackson are to pay tribute to Michael Jackson with a live tour honoring the pop icon's life.
The TV star and producer will be joined by the late singer's two siblings and Gary, Indiana-born singer Deniece Williams - whose hits include 'Let's Hear It For The Boy', 'Free' and 'Too Much Too Little Too Late' - for a series of spoken word and music shows which will reveal never-before-told details about him and his phenomenal career.
Williams grew up near the Jackson family home and has been friends with the family for nearly five decades.
David came up with the idea for the tour after completing his documentary 'Michael Jackson: The Life of an Icon' - which focuses on the 'Thriller' star's life from his beginnings with the Jackson 5 through to his tragic death in June 2009 and contains interviews with over 50 of his closest friends and family including his mother Katherine, Motown legend Smokey Robinson and Whitney Houston too name a few.
The reality star exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "There was five hours of footage that didn't make the documentary and 30 minutes of exclusive interview footage with Katherine that has never been seen before. We are going to let fans see a lot of this for the first time when we go on tour.
"It's really dynamite footage that gives an insight into his life away from the spotlight and features unique anecdotes and memories of Michael that have never before been told."
The tour will run across the whole of the UK and is due to start either at the end of this year or in March 2012 and will be directed by Andrew Eastel, who also directed 'Michael Jackson: The Life of an Icon'.
Deniece and Rebbie will sing intimately with a pianist and Tito will also play his guitar and sing and David promises the evening "will be intimate and feel like a family get together with a Q&A from the audience".
Tito said: "I'm really looking forward to this tour and being close up with the fans. To see the four of us on stage will be a blast and we all have so many funny and wonderful stories about Michael that will leave the crowd laughing, crying and spellbound all at the same time."
David spent 16 months working on the documentary and admits it was both a cathartic and joyous process to honour his lifetime friend Michael.
He explained: "I personally financed this film and solely own it. It was truly a labour of love to be able to pay tribute to my wonderful 'other brother'. I have so many friends who helped make this film a reality and they are all included."
'Michael Jackson: The Life of an Icon' will be released worldwide on DVD and Blu Ray on October 31 by Universal Pictures.
When pushed on why the documentary won't be airing on television first, David said: "Everyone is asking me the same question, it wasn't my decision. I was hoping it could have been nominated for an Oscar or BAFTA for best documentary if it was screened in theatres or an Emmy if it premiered on TV, it really is that good. This is the total vision of Angela Robertson at Universal Pictures, period. She wanted to put it out on DVD first right before the Christmas holidays because she felt it could become Universal's biggest-selling DVD of all-time because it's about Michael. If she's right she's a genius, if she's not what can I say? We are all praying she does a great advertising job. I'm hoping her other vision to air it on television to mark the anniversary of his death in June is the right one, time will tell."
When quizzed on how much he was paid for the film, David replied: "I can't give out a number but I'm a very happy camper! Universal outbid three other companies to get the film."
Katherine is delighted with the documentary about her superstar son, saying: "I am very proud of David and this truly is his film and story about Michael."

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

lol I guess now we can know that GLE's tribute won't be "one time and only"
hahaha
How can they expect that they will just use MJ's name to profit for just one time?? that's naive..............

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

I dont know if I should shake my head in disgust or giggle at what kills one of GLE main promotion argument...

Funny how they also trigger the UK. Lucky you!

I dont know what to add without including good ol' sarcasm, so I'd better stop right here.

Am I to understand that Peter, who was invited to honor Michael, has called him the "J" word in the newspaper interview? Isn't this the same type of problem as Simmons. How can you admire someone and not know they find this name disrespectful and demeaning!!! This means Peter does not know much about Michel at all, and morally speaking, he should know that such a name is unkind. Anyone who claim they admire Michael should know that he was a very sensitive soul.

We need to pass this information to the rest of the fan community, since many would not have heard of it being a weekend writeup.

PS: that documentary from Gest, if the documentary he is talking about is the one TMEZ is in and said was excellent, then, I would buy it. It is good to see that he had major companies bidding for it. This shows positive images of Michael are being sought at last, so we should expect some more positive products about Michael in the future.

The tribute sounds good. I will have to disregard my disgust for what Rebie did, and since she is not the main talent in the tribute, I will definitely attend if it comes to the US.

another tribute attempt???.. It NEVER ends....damn it

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

It's a very Aussie and Brit thing to do to shorten names for people and things, but before you guys bite my head off, yes I know Michael didn't like it and I know where it came from, and because of that it shouldn't be used, and I am surprised that Peter Andre would use that term because he is a huge Michael fan and should know better.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

He should know better, but that is the thing with some people, they cater to whomever they are talking to. He knows the background of the paper, so he speaks using words that will get him on their side. If he talks to fans, I bet you he will show a different side of himself. People like that are opportunists; they go with the flow, and have no backbone to stand up to the right thing in the face of mild pressure.

Thunder, I was thinking that the traveling tribute by Gest might be more palatable, than this one here. What do you think?

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Maybe he said Jackson but the newspaper wrote J*...

 at the new tribute... I had hope it would be the last time... sigh...

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Carine, you have a point there. He could have said Jackson and they wrote the J word. Can anyone find out if he did say that.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

It's possible they mis-quoted him, maybe, I dunno, but it's typical Mirror behaviour in that they print a quote from him and add their own sarcastic put down afterward.

What really annoys me is that both of these tributes are in the UK and when there is an official one that I would want to attend it will probably be somewhere else.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

^^I understand, but I know that where ever that official one is I would be on the plane to that place. I am really looking forward to an office one, and I hope I will not be disappointed.
