Gene Simmons’ Son: I Understand Why He Was Dropped from Michael Jackson Tribute

Gene Simmon’s son Nick spoke exclusively to RumorFix about his father being dropped from the Michael Jackson tribute concert – and says he understands the reasoning behind it.The actor also gave some insight into how exactly his father feels about Michael.

“I understand it because he has his point of view, he’s convinced that Michael was guilty of the charges he was accused of. I don’t necessarily agree with that, I don’t make judgements on court cases based on television because I feel like it’s too far removed to be objective. His point is that you can like the art but dislike the artist.

He didn’t like the allegations that he believed were true but that doesnt mean he doesn’t like the music. He was perfectly OK with doing it and he wasnt going to take back anything that he said before. But you know, I understand why the family and friends wouldnt want the guy who said these things about him to play. He’s fine with it.”

Although I never liked that Rabbi for several reasons, he had always been protected of Michael's children and always maintained that he was a good father. He even defended Michael every time someone in the media mentioned him hanging Blanket out the window. He is also one of the few people who got on Michael's family for using him as a kid, depriving him of the social skills and interaction, and not given him the the love that one needs as a child. He also hated from the beginning people playing guess the father and even asked the question would you question the parentage of anyone else and did it really mattered in the end. So, you always got points for that.

In some ways I understand where he is coming from, but the all his twits come across as one long self-pity rant. Yes, somethings said about Mrs. Jackson are bad, but the truth is most of it is more than justify. Two or even five years ago the media nor fans would never called her those names. In fact both the media and fans loved or at least respect Mrs. Jackson and no one spoke a bad word against her. The worst thing said about her was her role during the abused Joe talked about, but even that was kind of shrugged off.

Sorry, but pimping the kids on Oprah when everyone knew how Michael felt about his kids being seen by the public, talking about his surgeries knowing he never liked to talked about it, trying to take over his estate when his will clearly laid out her role after his death, working against his estate on a number of occasion, telling everyone that she is broke while receiving more money in a month that most people make in a year, having people run around calling her dead son an addict and doing nothing to stop it and even encouraging it, given the impression that she is a better parent than Michael, but say her deadbeat sons are great fathers, and now this concert that looked like a giant money scheme and we supposed to smile and take it.

Now Taj is trying to pin this all on fans for not kissing Mrs. Jackson's butt and calling everything rosy. Michael may had seen her as saint, but she never once pulled this kind of crap when he was alive nor would she dare to call his nose a toothpick on nation television. Mother or not, that is low.

Taj, aren't you supposed to be protecting your uncle's legacy? Where were you when KISS was announce? Where was that twitter outrage you showed during the whole album debate? Is supposedly fake songs means more to you than inviting someone who called your uncle a child molester and continue to say so even now? If you're going to protect Michael's name, PROTECT HIS NAME AND STOP BLAMING FANS WHEN YOUR FAMILY CHOSE TO ACT STUPID OR AT LEAST PROTECT YOUR GRANDMOM FOR ALL THE LEECHES THAT DROVE YOUR UNCLE TO HIS GRAVE.

I don't think we are going coo coo, it's this family who's coo coo. Ms. Latoya has annouced she had recently bought a Bently...probably with that $100,000.00 check she received rom GL.

Go back to the day they first mentioned this whole trashy event in Beverely Hills. Tito, Jacki, Marlon were there with Ms KJ. Latoya was there too and she had the biggest grin on her face!!! That money didn't go to the kids, it went straight into toya's purse. But, remember, she said its not her fault, but she took that check and bought a Bently. I don't believe she paid cash for it, but she put a nice down payment on it. SMH

The conference call was obviously nothing other than a PR stunt and trying to get the fan clubs on their side. Didn't work and we are back to the same old rubbish! They cannot seem to get it through their heads that almost the entire fan community are against this. If it does go ahead it will only be because they gave away most of the tickets via Twitter so as not to be embarrassed by any almost empty venue. May be even more embarrassing when it is viewed and found to be a complete and utter shambles if their organisational skills so far are anything to go by. Just wish Michael's name wasn't associated with it.

Having Beyonce's name there and big bold letter almost boarders on false advisement. Really, if someone saw this ad and didn't read up about it on the internet they would look at it and go, "Oh, Beyonce I love her. I want to check this concert out." Only to be met on the day of the concert with a freaking video screen of Beyonce singing. If I was that person, I would be more than pissed off.

The Jackson Brothers is also misleading to the general public since most would assume 'all' of the surviving brothers' are doing a tribute. Those people would feel rip off if some lady singer is singing lead while Tito, Jackie, and Marlon sing backup. I say lady singer because I honestly can't imagine any of the brothers singing lead. None of them have strong vocals.

Shame on them all for attacking the fans! Taj may be family but he better tell his grandmother and the rest of the Jacksons to step aside and stop exploiting Michael's name, children and legacy! They may be family but WE, the fans are always there for Michael without buying Bentleys, without going public 18 years ago to announce that Michael is a child molester, without releasing a song Word to the Badd insulting him as a person and an artist, without selling perfumes and announcing the formation of a record company a few days after his passing, without making him participate in an advertisement for Persi even though he didn't want to and eventually burn himself, without exploiting fans through the management of MJJSource get their money and never give it back to the fans, without causing a turmoil about the Michael album to divide the fan community, without using his children to promote crappy products and business associations. Should I go on?

See, if I wasn't an MJ fan or hadn't followed ally he drama...I wasn't know these concert was a tribute to MJ.

Not even with Jackson brothers listed there. They sound like a random group...like Pixie Lott and Diversity. I am guessing Pixie Lott is a group...I have never seen, read or heard about them.

ETA: What if we buy our own ad space in the Metro and tell the public this is a scam?

I can see that Taj would be upset at name calling, but just to expect people to support the family just because they are related to Michael is ridiculous.

The only communication we seem to get from the family is when they want our support against something/someone else, if they have to deal with a lot of BS, then inform us of it. How are we supposed to know if they don't tell us.

This isn't a one way street.

Even thought I have no ill will towards Sony, except for their game department, I guess for some fans this could fall under the trope, 'Even evil has standards.'

They have an * on the end of Beyonce's name. And that very tiny print at the bottom states her appearance is by video.

ETA: They may have shot themselves in the foot again. Putting her name so boldly and then the tiny print can cause even more controversy. Global is mishandling everything. They really should not be in the promoting business at all, especially for someone of MJ's unparallel magnitude.

All they could do was say: The Tribute Concert.

Now they have ads, they are really targeting the artists' fans now. They have no intention in respecting fans views, so we may as well pay no attention to the conference calls. Of course, Gladys and Smoky will attend because they are friends with the Jackson family from way back. They are not going to worry that Michael's fans are upset.

My view now is this is just a Jackson concert, and everyone knows it, so its sloppiness will show them up, not Michael.

We need to start thinking about good ideas to give to the estate so that when they do one it would be out of this world and put this crap to shame. I am sure after the trial the estate would love our input.

I think Cirque is going to be so fantastic it will serve as a phenomenal tribute for while. The clips are truly amazing. Can't wait to see it.
