MJ Forever Tribute/ MJJC Statement / Estate statement / Fan letter pg51/ GLE put on administration

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

The whole KISS fiasco was the final mistake. When Michael died I supported his family and felt bad for them. They lost a loved one. And many times as fans we have been pulled from different sides because of our love for Michael. Do we support the family or the estate? I look at the actions of both and the family are always the negative ones. Always against the estate because they get nothing from them. It was not Branca and Mcclain who decided this, it was Michael. Michael is the estate. When are his family going to respect his wishes?

Latoya goes on shows saying the estate doesn't give money to the Jacksons. They do just to her mother and his kids as stated in his will. They don't get anything because Michael didn't want them to. So they use him and try to come with as many possible schemes to make a lot of money and they use Michael's fans to get it. This Michael fan is not giving them anything. Unless it is supported by his estate and will benefit his kids I will not support these kind of things. It's funny how the Jacksons when the estate has a big deal in the works like cirque, the movie, games etc. that all they care about is money lol. That's their job to make Michael's estate strong and viable and it all goes to his children eventually. They are just mad they have no cut in it.

I am not saying that the Jacksons can't make a living but do it without using Michael all the time. They want to honor Michael? Honor him by respecting his wishes. Honor him by doing right by his children. Honor him by not sucking up to people who wronged Michael and treated him like crap. Honor him by making sure the man who killed him is punished and not walk away free. Honor him by treating his fans the way Michael always treated us.

I don't hate the Jacksons at all but I hate their actions in the last 2 years and it crosses my mind what Michael may have had to deal with in his life from his own family. It's sad because your family should be those you want to keep coming back to and not distancing yourself away.

Well said.

I also dislike a lot of their decisions, but I think they are like most families. Every family has drama, a bad uncle, jealous siblings/cousins, etc. Put that in the public arena with the most famous man who ever lived and this is what you'd see.

I put my faith in Michael's kids.

We've Had Enough lyrics is appropriate here...

There's nothing that can't be done
If we raise our voice as one
They've gotta hear it from me
They've gotta hear it from you
They've gotta hear it from us
We can't take it
We've already had enough

Strangely I do not see the family as most families. Their behavior, in total, has gone way beyond what most families will do. I would say they are like a few families. Take a look at what has been done here: brother/son died and the same week dad promotes a group, sister goes to home and finds rotten weed and give it to cops as her brother's. Members run to media and say brother was a drug addict. Family plan memorial and ask dead brother to pay for their clothes. Brother plans various tributes right after the death for money reasons that went burst. They plan a fanvention money scheme that went burst. Then we have the belt money scheme using the kids, The Oprah money scheme using the kids, The charity money scheme using the kids, The tribute money scheme using the kids and Michael's name. Don't forget going on TV and doing interviews criticizing the dead person and stating the estate have given you no money. This is not the whole behavior pattern. Now if most families are like that then the Jacksons will be the norm and I can't see that. Every family has their trial and tribulations, and true you will find some greedy, selfish, crazy ones in the bunch. A few families have murders, rapists, women beaters in the bunch, but I will state the Jacksons' total behavior in relation to Michael Jackson and his kids is in a minority category.

Thank you Marebear this is wonderfully put, exactly my feelings, although I have to admit from the get go I never trusted this family.
It should become very clear for any fan why Michael distanced himself from them and left them nothing. After he came back from the Middle East where did he end up? in the family he called "his first family of love" NOT his own flesh and blood family.

Like you said, once and for all the ESTATE IS MICHAEL. They are following Michael's wishes, and they are doing a darned GREAT job I might add!

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

This thread continues to be a pleasure to read! Thank you marebear for your fantastic post.

But I have a prosaic the question about the 3 Jackson brothers who are slated to perform. Are they going to perform as a group or as individuals? I am presuming the latter cause the thought of the 3 of them on stage together just CRACKS ME UP, I gotta tell ya!

Now if the brothers are going to have solo gigs what on this earth are they going to sing? Can they sing on their own? Can they sing!?

Maybe they're writing new material now (b/c I dont think they can sing much of what belongs to others). So they can miraculously release their own albums afterwards... After all, it's one of the point of the gig, right? Re launching their careers? :winking2:

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

So what is Alien Ant Farm going to sing? :)

Michael Jackson fans are some of the most amazing people I have ever met. If it would help Michael for you to go through a brick wall then through a brick wall you will go.

Michael's fans have truly been at their best when things have been at their worst... Just amazing and I am sure he knew it all along.

Odd but I never really thought about them doing that,,,writing new material so that they could release it after the tribute..THAT scares me..IF this is their motive...then they have again hit a new low..using their dead brothers tribute to make even MORE cash and revive their dead careers... that will need a HUGE jump start. Oh man we know how they read here.lets not give them any new ideas.:ninja:

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

The brothers might sing some J five songs together. There will be no lead singer, like Michael, and Jermaine does not want to go, so I guess no lead singer. How about the guys who were trying to write a song for them during their reality show. Maybe they might sing that if it is completed. Remember they could not even come together properly to rehearse some songs during the show, so how are they going to come together now? Maybe papa Joe will be there to straighten them out. I really do not think they can work together properly without Michael, unless papa Joe is there with a strap.

35 MICHAEL JACKSON FAN COMMUNITIES CALL FOR CANCELLATION OF 'TRIBUTE' CONCERT

The door is slowly closing on the Michael Forever Tribute concert, set to take place at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium on October 8th, after over 35 of the leading Michael Jackson fan forums issued a statement advising the organisers Global Live Events to cancel the gig.

The open letter, led by MJJCommunity, the largest online Michael Jackson forum, highlights their refusal to support the gig and describes the concert as ‘doomed’. They also heavily reiterate points such as the addition and removal of Gene Simmons and his band KISS, who publicly branded Michael a child molester, despite the singer being cleared of all charges in 2005, and the fact that the show is scheduled to take place during the Conrad Murray manslaughter trial.

A part of the letter reads: “From the timing of this tribute, in the middle of Dr. Murray's trial, to the ticketing prices, to the obscurity over what charities will be receiving the donation, to the no-guarantee policy of performers, the addition of Gene Simmons and dishonoring, thus tarnishing Michael Jackson's legacy was simply the last straw.

“With the damage done, it will be the fans who work hard to overcome this debacle for Michael Jackson's legacy.”

A video protesting the tribute has also been created, which you can see embedded below.

Pressure has been growing on promoters Global Live Events to cancel the gig – initially, it was just Randy and Jermaine who opposed the concert. In a significant twist to the saga, last week, Michael Jacksons' Estate published an open letter they sent to Global Live Events concerning the show, forums worldwide have displayed their displeasure at the concert and even the event organiser's official Facebook page has been bombarded with attacks from fans.

Now this fan community letter, which is supported by MJ forums in countries like USA, UK, China, Russia, Germany and many, many more, encompassing million of registered fans, has edged the tribute closer to a premature end.

Organiser Paul Ring recently made comments regarding the future of the concert to the BBC, saying “The concert is very much going ahead.”

The registration period for the concert is set to end at midnight today (August 21st). The organisers have indicated that tickets are set to go onsale at 9am on Wednesday August 24th BST, with those that preregistered for tickets being contacted within 24 hours.

Do you think the show will still go on? Or do you believe the concert should being cancelled? Tell us in the comments section below.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

Following this whole misadventure leaves me with a feeling of overwhelming sadness. The light of truth is shining on Michael's family for the whole world to see and what it reveals is not flattering: a group of people who seem to lack judgment, lack caring, lack good advice and lack understanding and knowledge about their own son and brother. They have managed to show the world that they are incapable of putting on a professional tribute to Michael, that controversy is the normal course of business and that they are unable to attract stars of truly international stature. They have shown themselves to be totally and completely out of touch with the people who meant so much to Michael - his fans. They are a perfect example of the reverse Midas touch: everything they touch turns to lead, at least where Michael is concerned.
I am embarrassed for them and angry at the same time. With all the protestations of love for him, to think that his own family cannot manage any better than this for their most famous son and brother ...words fail me. It is time for them to pack up their tents and disappear into the night for all time.

This is a very nice video, although I wish they didn't use white text on a black and white background. It made some parts nearly impossible to read. With that said the term 'fanmaily' is a cute touch.

Personally, I was never fond of calling Michael family just because I am just a fan at the end of the day. He may have love us, but it's nearly impossible to care about a sea of strangers over people you grew up with or grown to know through personal experience. Even the fans Michael personally met and knew didn't have the same imput as those who worked with Michael everyday. Which is why I always found it tragic that fans who were mostly distance strangers in Michael's life seems to care about him more than his own family. In this case the term fanmily fits.

Quite frankly, this should make the entire Jackson family feel ashamed. However, I think the family has passed being ashamed along time ago. If even after Michael's tragic death that family can't see him as nothing more than a paycheck, then the outrage of millions mean nothing to them.

Re: Michael Forever Tribute/ MJJC Official Statement / Discussion / Estate statement / Fan letter @p

One of the meanings of tribute is something indicating the worth or virtue of the one being honored or (additionally) something indicating gratitude or respect or affection. Can the 'organizers' ie., the involved family, actually still believe this 'thing' will be a fitting tribute for Michael? Do they possibly believe that this abomination will reflect in any way, shape or form the worth of Michael or the respect due his memory? Under present circumstances, this stands a very good chance of being a big humiliation. I feel sorry for his mother, at one level, because let's face it, at her age the mental processes are not as quick as they used to be and perhaps she is being influenced by 'outside' sources in addition to the 'inside' family members. Maybe someone told her this would be a great idea, maybe she doesn't really realize all the upheaval being caused. I would like to be a fly on the wall during the family meetings about all of this!
Sometimes when I consider his family, I wonder where Michael got his sensitivity, intelligence and his civility.

The brothers might sing some J five songs together. There will be no lead singer, like Michael, and Jermaine does not want to go, so I guess no lead singer.

They can always ask one of the 'new generation' to be lead singer on that, I see Austin doing it... too bad, I liked him. ;)

^^That was "follow the money LaToya." They wanted to make a case that Michael was a drug addict, because the media was saying that he died from an over dose of drugs. Latoya found this in the house in the kitchen cupboard. She does not even know if this was there before Michael moved into the home, but ran with it to the police. What kind of sister is that. At the same time Oxman was shouting that he knew Michael would die of DA, and she thanks this man in her book. Thinking of them makes me tired.

^^You see the big problem is that they really do not know what Michael was doing or what was going on in his life, so they listen to the media or follower fans for news. The family did not see him on a regular basis, so are clueless. If the media says something they run with it like idiots.

Monday is tomorrow, lets see if we have more news on the nontribute concert.

This is the kindest way to look at what they had done.

At worst, they knew very well that Michael was no addict, but ran with it because they fit their means. Namely, it made Michael look like he was unable to run his business, therefore they can blame and sue anyone around him for taking advantage of his 'addict', like AEG and Kenny. It also gave them a path to challenge any will he had and they didn't like. One of the clauses Randy and Oxman tried to use to challenge the will was 'undue influence'. It also makes the family look like heroes by trying to 'save' Michael from his addiction, but the evil people kept them away. This allows them to win over both the media and fans, rallying them to their causes.

If they really believed Michael was an addict, why did they try to get him to tour and weasel themselves into his tour. Not to mention Joe and Rowe hounded him for money to the point Joe had one of his screaming fits. Plus, no one apparently gave a damn about any addiction when he met his family during the family dinner. Joe didn't care to the point that he admitted in an interview that the last time he talked to Michael about anything was about pound to dollar exchange rate or dumb crap.

It wasn't the media who started this addict crap, it was the family using Oxman as a mouth piece. It was so bad that the people in the news were upset and confuse because they thought it was too soon to be talking about a cause of death, especially with something as serious as drug addicton, since Oxman ran his month not even an hour after Michael died and people were still in shock. You know things are bad when the people on LKL were practically WTF when they saw Oxman.
