MJ Estate Statement Re: Justin Bieber Slave To The Rhythm Recording. [Merged]

Re: Someone's mixed STTR with Bieber

I wish there was a way to persuade them to stop this bullshiit. Michael's reputation and dignity is more important than record sales.

Re: Someone's mixed STTR with Bieber

he' just a kid - how dare he sing that?!

Re: Someone's mixed STTR with Bieber

ehmm. thats their statement? what the ****. no thanks. well done estate, youve lost my faith.
I was just kidding Zakk, being sarcastic. As far as I know there is no statement yet.

That’s just so horrifying that I can’t even process this right now. Who could possibly have thought this is a good idea?

This song might sell some copies because Bieber still has fans who will buy anything with his name on it. But nobody else will touch this song because who, except for Bieber fans, would want to buy a Justin Bieber song? He’s a joke, and any song featuring him will be seen as a joke too. STTR and Michael deserved more. For his legacy it would be crucial to get the focus back on his music, and remind people how brilliant and talented he was. A track with Bieber will be seen as a ridiculous and desperate attempt at selling a few singles, and it won’t do anything to help Michael’s image or legacy.

Maybe this is a bad practical joke, and soon we’ll get a message from the Estate saying “LOL just kidding you guys”?

Re: Someone's mixed STTR with Bieber

This is a slap in the face!!! Im so angry!! If this is official or released, i will be deeply hurt. You wouldn't see Elvis Presley or The Beatles Estate do something like this.. Why? BECAUSE THEY RESPECT THAT THEY ARE REPRESENTING MUSICAL ICONS. The MJ estate acts like they are representing Rihanna. I wish sony didn't even get the rights to the material... i wish someone else had... and honestly, if i would have known it would have come to this, i would rather no future releases. This is PATHETIC.

Meanwhile in a parallel Universe...

Re: Someone's mixed STTR with Bieber

"As an apology for this, here is a link to Michael's full performance from Oslo in 1992. We are deeply sorry you felt this way, and it will never happen again.

John Branca"

haha imagine it!

I was defending it before but I now have changed my opinion in some case. This is Michael Jackson's song. No one else's. It is also like naming the Mona Lisa "Mona Liz". It is WRONG. I was semi-ok with it as they were paying tribute possibly but now they have let Bieber take all the credit and changed the title of the thing. Why not release another GH package and have Billy Jeen on it? Now I'm pissed.

I'm sure they are scrurrying around trying to find the right words to calm us all down. I don't know what they could possibly say, other than it's just a joke.

Re: Someone's mixed STTR with Bieber

Just a kid? He's 19/20 years old! He's a grown man!

Can't use that excuse anymore. He is trying to prove himself as a mature artist now, he certainly is not a kid.

Re: Someone's mixed STTR with Bieber

They can drop this single. Like they did with "Monster". :)

Re: Someone's mixed STTR with Bieber

Wildfire of Madness round 2 huh

Re: Someone's mixed STTR with Bieber

Odds are, if this is official, the estate isn't going to make a statement to "calm us down" because the fact is... they don't care.. If this is official, it will be played on the radio, and it will sell a lot of copies, no matter how pathetic and sad it is.. They are probably busy remaking "Buffalo Bill" with Carly Rae Jepsen and "A Place With No Name" with One Direction... Michael Jackson is the most revolutionary and influential artist to ever live, his estate however, is the most embarrassing thing since Milli Vanilli.

It will sell a lot of copies only because it will be bought by `beliebers`. Almost no MJ fan will buy this. I also have a feeling that if an album is released with this song on it, it will be a bigger disaster than "MICHAEL".

Re: Someone's mixed STTR with Bieber

Sad day for Jackson fans. I expected anything but seeing "Justin Bieber ft. Michael Jackson" some day.

Re: Someone's mixed STTR with Bieber

I can't wait to hear what bull s**t excuse the estate has for this one

Re: Someone's mixed STTR with Bieber

The song was recorded in April 2012, before Believe, his latest album came out. If he was using Michael for fame, wouldn't he have put it on the album?

Michael Jackson ft Justin Bieber - Slave to the Rhythm. Didn't expect that this morning!

Re: Someone's mixed STTR with Bieber

I'm not happy with the possibility of a duet with Bieber but can we wait to see the statement before we hang people and act like it's the end of the world.

I think such statements are problematic and highly dramatic and quite premature. It all depends on the final album. First of all duets of legit songs cannot be really compared by allegations of fake songs. Secondly if they do the album properly - such as if it has duets with Freddy Mercury - fans can buy the album and ignore a Bieber and /or similar duets. for example I'm no fan of Pitbull remix of Bad but it didn't stop me from buying Bad 25 as the rest of the package warranted the purchase.

Maybe he didn't have permission from the MJ estate to release it at that time

Maybe he's desperate now. Does the timing real matter? He's ruining art. It's like finding Da Vinci's rough drafts, erasing three-quarters of the drawing to redraw it yourself. Why did he need MJ's vocals there? I would have been so much happier if it wasn't Justin Bieber feat. Michael Jackson with MJ's vocals decreased so much and Bieber and his producer massacring the ending ad-libs. Cover the song, but don't mash MJ into it!

Re: Someone's mixed STTR with Bieber

Where you hear that?

Justin Bieber, Alfredo Flores, Scooter Braun all tweeted in April that he had just recorded a historic track, and JB tweeted he was honoured to do so. The guy may have good intentions, but we want 100% MJ (yet people don't know we only have a remix anyway)

I agree. Because Bieber fans will download this one song and won't care about the rest. So for album sales they have to rely on MJ fans, but if this song is on it in this form I'm not buying it. And I'm someone who supported everything so far. I even bought the Michael album, despite the fact that the production is poor and we haven't even talked about the Cascio songs. But I wanted to give the benefit of doubt and show support. But enough is enough.

He alone cannot decide to put it on his album. Michael's Estate must approve. And apparently they had other plans with it.

Re: Someone's mixed STTR with Bieber

Must be like this;

NOT LIKE JUSTIN DID; STEALING HIS FAME & SONGS WITHOUT HIS PERMISSION...

I hope these videos shows what I mean...

Re: Someone's mixed STTR with Bieber

It would have been the estate that approached Bieber, not the other way around as they have the acapella. Also interesting to note that it is Sony who are removing uploads, not Bieber's label.

Re: Someone's mixed STTR with Bieber

seriously hoping we get some kind of statement soon, i cant deal with this. it has always been in my top three leaked song's with blue gangsta and xscape :( i seriously hope this isnt the only version that will be released. i want to hear michael's solo demo's that he worked on in 1989-1990 and 1998. keeping slight hope, although that has mostly diminished now.
