If this source is true about the artwork cover, it must be the discussion we had of famous portraits or people in Michael's career ie like Sargent Peppers Album, plus there's story on the web today refers OPRAH Winfrey refusing to appear on the cover of Michael Jackson’s new album — because she wasn’t getting paid!

I like the idea of the album having oprah on the cover , in fact i think it should go like this :

That's not exactly true, cause above We Are The World you see an image of Michael from the Billie Jean music video. But if you mean the Motown 25 look, you're right

I meant the song. This album is supposed be full of NEW material. So finally an album with out Billie Jean on it in some form. Not that I dont like the song, but I dont need 20 copies of it.

Totally agree. The pictures should be of the same erras that the songs were recorded by Michael. Which would means more recent "looks".

Still buying it anyway. I'm more excited to see if it contains "controversial" lyrics about the trial period.

MJ fans will have the best Christmas this year!!!! Can you guys picture us sitting back after stuffing ourselves on Christmas day, playing with our MJ dolls, watching videos, and listing to music!!!! Oh, and wearing his favorite perfume.

but it'll be God's birthday, so I'm just going to devote my time to him on Christmas day....lol

LOVE the title of the album by the way. just slap his first name on the front cover and thats all michael jackson needs. really nice

I want to know more about the cover art, like about when in 2009 it was done. Maybe a superfluous question, but I'd still love to know.

We're getting NEW MUSIC! Finally, after all this time waiting and waiting, it's finally frigging happening! New Michael Jackson Music!
Obviously it's not the same since he's not here to promote it and confirm it. But I've dealt with this thought already. I think i've overcome it a little as well. Well enough to be freaking ecstatic about this holiday season!!!

That's what I was thinking. Plus the last line of the press release. "Stay tuned for the worldwide launch of the official first single from MICHAEL later this month". Sounds like Breaking News is just a sample of the album, a promo single. The real first single will be later on in November.

Samples of songs from the album, or just a long sample of Breaking News.

What some artists do now is that before the actual release of the album they give some "previews" of the songs, that is, they allow you to hear some seconds of different songs of the album. You can even leave comments on the songs, and so on. It's very good and it certainly encrease the hype and the excitement!!! :wild:

If you look at it, the cover is obviously a gatefold one so there's more to it. That's most likely the first part of it which is 1979-1990 and the second half expands to 1991-2009.

Guys I hope this information^^was not true. If Oprah was on the cover, I would immediately tear my cover off and put the disc in a safe and secure place. I really do not want my disc to be contaminated. I hope I do not hurt anyone's feelings here.

WOOOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!:clapping::clapping::clapping: I can't believe it!! It's really here. I had almost given up that it would come out this year! OMG OMG This is unbelievable.

I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE THE COVER ART! AMAZING, ICONIC, SO SO CAPTURES MICHAEL'S ESSENCE. He looks soooo beautiful on the cover- just perfect! His best years were the 80's and 90's imo- that's when he looked his most beautiful. Why not capture the Michael of the very succesful eras??

And the title - just on the money! MICHAEL - SIMPLE - THAT'S ALL THAT NEEDS TO BE SAID. The painting says it all - THE KING OF POP - THE CROWN - ALL HIS GREAT ACHIEVEMENTS.

This is the essence of Michael - this is how I will always remember him.

i would definitely buy it..but i'm a bit disappointed with two things:

1. cover itself shows that as if michael was no longer exist after bad
2. michael doesnt involve in finalising the album the recording company determines what good or bad or even tweaking something which we don't know..i still remember what happens to the this is it dvd

I'm still decoding the cover...I was surprised to see that most of MICHAEL's iconic items were there, the hat, the glove, the glasses, Bubbles, a popcorn, the oxygen chamber...but no surgical mask.

I think that's also an iconic piece that makes you think of him...and I think I see something in this bubble. I don't know what it is, it could be the shoes, something else or the mask...but there's something there :

OMG when I first heard that she might be on the cover I felt the same way!! I would have been sick to my stomach about it. UGGGGHH I just can't stand her! Thanjs goodness it wasn't the case!!!

No, that's not the way it works.
They don't put "the whole" song, but just a few seconds, a teaser. So you get a general idea of the song, no the whole song. And you can't donwload it. At least not the first day.

See for instance what Josh Groban is doing with his upcoming album. They gave the release date. Then during the following weeks they gave different "clues" about the sound of it, the concept, then the track list and then they announce they will let you hear a few second of one of the songs. Great. you have it for, say, 4 days. Then they sell it in iTunes (the whole song).

After that (and once they have a clear idea of how well/bad did the song), they will have a second teaser and follow the same structure: free short teaser X days, and then they say you will be able to buy it in iTunes in this-that date, etc. So far, in the case of Josh Groban, they did that with 3 different songs, so you can really get an idea about the sound and the feeling of the new album and it builds anticipation

And then, everytime you buy a song in iTunes, you can always use the "Complete this album" feature, that is, to buy just the rest of the songs in order to have the whole album, the day it is released. Phill Collins did something like this too, while groups as Take That or Westlife (and Josh and PHill and many others too) will also offer "teasers" with pics of the upcoming videos, again, to keep people engaged.

It's a great way to use the social networks, because they do all this in FB, Twitter, My Space, you name it! So the promotion is, at the hand of the day, in the hands of the fans And it also gives the artists and their companies a better understanding about how good/bad the album will do. While others are "leaking" songs, these guys are actually using the net to study the market. It's great!

Actually, the teaser would be a different thing.

BREAKING NEWS will be fully available for listening for a whole week, starting Monday. That's what it says on the release statement.

I was just thinking how some of you were so ready to criticize the estate and Sony for the handling of this album. Well, I think so far they are doing an amazing job. They are releasing a teaser song before an official single- which creates even more excitement imo. I always had faith in them. I give the estate an A+ so far in the handling of Michael's legacy and Sony well as of right now and A- just from the pr and the buzz created right at this moment- I'll see how everything progresses before I give them a solid A+, but I have a great feeling they are going to blow our minds!!!!:yes::yes:

1) To the right, there is half of the Dangerous album
2) Well its the next best thing to having Michael choose the songs. Michael is not here and I know what ever song is gonna be released is gonna be good but not as good as when Michael was here… However we've got really no Choice other than be satisfied with this album. Not everyone agrees but it is what it is…

Tomorrow, an exclusive teaser for the project will appear on www.michaeljackson.com; on Monday, November 8th the world premiere of “Breaking News,” a full track from the album, will stream on the site for one week only.

So the teaser and new song are 2 different things and the song will be in full.

This I agree. As far as I can tell this artist (Kadir Nelson) is known to make murals (see 2 examples below) so I believe there's more to this cover than we can currently see.

They want this to be everywhere and they US to take it everywhere.

Teaser will probably a TV Commercial Teaser to promote the album.
