Yeah, I know, I get yeah, the cover is very beautiful and it's all Michael..I do like it....but I just thought it would have been nice to have a Painting of a 2007 Michael for 2007 Material Y'know? I feel that the recent Eras look are just vastly underused and would have been nice to see them use it more :yes:

:) He is there literally and figuratively, someone pointed out earlier here that he is on the rollercoaster. And don't forget all the bubbles floating around!

This is such wonderful news. Can't wait to sit back on the 14th and immerse myself in a whole new disc of Michael's amazing artistry. Besides that, I like the artwork. The colours are really nice and I like how it is reminiscent of the Dangerous cover in the sense that you can find little details everywhere.

There's some ungrateful folk on this thread this evening, who gives a dam if the cover doesn't represent the time of the recordings, c'mon really...what matters is whats on that plastic disc inside. We've waited for this moment for such a long time, why ruin the party?

It's nice to see how much detail the artist put in to the small things that only big fans would normally pick up on and appreciate like the hyperbaric chamber thing, Bubbles, the rabbit from Speed Demon. Heck, he even painted a reflection of a faberge egg from the Dangerous cover onto a clear surface in the art.

So good to see him, I was extremely dissapointed and I had a bad feeling the whole album will fail because Bubbles was not there :)

Yes I know there is probably more artwork, but I'm talking about the front of the album here.

Like others have said, this is probably not the whole picture, there could be more recent images on the inside of the booklet or w/e. Anyway, I have no problems with using the Thriller/Bad era imagery for the album cover. This was when Michael was in his prime, this is how future generations will (hopefully) remember him, and this is when he looked his best (but of course, the latter is entirely subjective). The art work is beautiful and I could picture a painting like this hanging in Michael's house. So many little secrets in there, it's like every time you look at it you discover something new, and many things are open to interpretation (Why is the Prince symbol there? What do the butterfly and the goldfish represent? What is the purpose of those cameras? Etc.).

I made a comparison to Elvis in one of my previous posts. He is always pictured as young and handsome, as this is when he was in his prime, never as the way he was in the later years. I'm not saying we should forget (or worse: be ashamed of) the way Michael looked in his final years, but his musical legacy will always centre around Thriller/Bad/Dangerous, whether we like it or not. Therefore, I think a collage of the most successful period of Michael's life is very appropriate for the first album post-death. THIS is the artist as most people know him, and this new album should be a continuation of that amazing legacy :)

I'm just giving my opinion... Did you see what I wrote? I'm looking forward to this album. Just because I don't like an aspect of the cover doesn't mean I'm "ruining the party" or I'm "ungrateful" :smilerolleyes: Oh, and I do like the album cover, I just don't like a certain aspect of it.

I checked as far as I can see love symbol 2 is not a trademark, it's copyrighted. (trademark and copyright are two different things)

I still believe that under the "fair use" rule it would be okay to include prince's symbol and/or any other logo, person etc.

You know what?
I was very angry because it took so long all that stuff, but now I really thing this was a great move of the Estate. While most "big names" are getting there new albums in November, Michael runs in a different track and he goes out in December. Sure there will be others, but now that he is there... it's all about him!!!!!

The good sweet ways we love of Michael, always taking care of the others (so they have their time before comes the real BIG time!! hahahahaha).

The official news about Michael being released came on page 304. And before that the fuss about the rumour about the album announcement had been talked about on more than 10 pages so actually - 60 pages in this thread in less than 24 hours.

Just amazing. :lol:

How many singles do you think they will release for this album ?? 1-2 or more?

I hope they release 5-7 singles to keep the focus on the album for a very long time.

I hope it's melodic and sophisticated, like we are used to from Michael. I don't want a "club banger" a la BEP or David Guetta, if you know what I mean. I can't stand this kind of music :mello:

Before, I also wanted the Estate to be "risky" and use a recent photo. But now, after hearing the announcement and seeing the cover. I don't need anything more. I'm happy and grateful.

Michael continues to amaze me and enrich my life.

I hope the album contains great songs that will be considered as good as Billie Jean, BAD, TWYMMF, MITM etc.


I really hope the album contains some HUGE hits and some undying classics.

I hope the album will be as great as MJ's other albums.

the cover is amazing, and I am sure it will be even more amazing when wide open (the left and right obviously) - but what do you guys think the cops on the right end represent?

anyhow, I am so excited and happy for all of us - I hope that every single wonderful fan in here will feel the love and joy again... Michael is not here to see this but he left a wonderful treasure and it is up to us to cherish it and glorify him... our King!

The only thing I don't like though is the title... I was hoping for "the future" that would be more original. but still... I have high hopes for this.

Maybe the cover painting was painted before TII, so how could it contain pictures frm TII then.

Coming back to the Prince symbol thing and the possibility of some form of duet...

The week of the album's release could be the final of the X-Factor (UK) and Prince is rumoured to be performing, he could he use this to promote any song they worked on together...

Just a thought I had passing before going to sleep.

hmm, it's 2:22 AM in Denmark now, so I'll have to go to sleep before I go to the university.
