VERY excited.
'Michael' is perfect for me. It is personal.. and I feel since Michael's death he has been thought of more as a person, rather than some kind of character with no feelings to hurt. Calling the album 'Michael' illustrates that to me.
The cover art I understand it is an oil painting. It is similar to Dangerous, with the hidden references etc. but actually reminds me more of the paintings Michael's artists created of him, and he had at his home. I do like the main image of Michael with the cherub angels crowning him, though some people will find it pretentious....I like it because it's kind of an 'EFF you' to the 'haters'...hahah.
I was surprised that MTV would be on the cover, but it is obviously because Michael made history on MTV and changed them forever. So personally I think it is great that is on there, to remind people about that. The Prince symbol I didn't even notice until someone kept posting about it over and over. From reading the posts on here I see there are references to lots of things, and people in MJs life on there. The Prince symbol is probably one of these references..you know, the whole 'rivalry' thing, even though they actually respected each other greatly and were good aquaintances. Please try not to be negative over and over, you made your point, after you've made it there is no need to continue to spam.
I tweeted about the album.. other fans are getting angry and saying those who are happy about this album are being disrespectful to Michael, and our excitement, I quote, 'is like dancing on his grave'. 'Boycotting fans' are also tweeting that this album is fake, to discourage fans from buying it. I assume they are saying this based on the TMZ reports about Kat, Jr and Paris claiming some songs are sang by an imposter. TMZ lie about everything, why am I going to believe them now? There is a whole campaign organised by a section of MJ fans, with false nonsense information, to encourage people to boycott this album, not to buy it or anything else Sony release with Michael's name on it - THIS is the sort of thing which can cause damage.. not a tiny Prince symbol on the cover..
By the way, there was a tabloid story about Oprah refusing to be on the MJ album cover unless she was paid. The story said the album cover would be a 'group photo' of people from Michael's life (which sounded so stupid). Maybe this story had a teeny bit of truth, but rather than a group photo the cover has some references, like Michael Jordan, Eddie Murphy, Martin Luther King, MTV, Prince.. sooo perhaps they got Prince's permission. I'd assume they would have to get the permission of MTV..?
HERE is an article from May mentioning the song 'Breaking News'. I know it's RF but perhaps it is allowed this once..?:

Bombshell exclusive:
Michael Jackson recorded a whole new album of material in the fall of 2007. The information about the album was only recently revealed by sources close to the late pop star.
Readers of my old column will recall that I reported on November 19, 2007 that Jackson spent three months with the Cascio family in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey after decamping from a Northern Virginia home he’d been renting courtesy of then manager Raymone Bain.
Jackson, his kids, nanny and tutor landed on the Cascio doorstep at the end of the summer of 2007 and stayed until November 7th. During that time Michael was not idle, as some thought. He recorded at least a dozen tracks with Eddie Cascio, who is also known as Angel.
I’m told that Jackson’s manager and adviser, Frank DiLeo, knew that Jackson was working on a new album. DiLeo and the Cascios all declined to comment for this article.
The song titles that I’m aware of include: “Water,” a song Michael actually sang a little bit of in the movie, “This is It” (Jackson fans have commented on this on fan blogs), plus “Breaking News,” and “Burn Tonight.”
According to one source who’s heard the material, Michael’s vocals are “perfect.”
