Michael - The Great Album Debate

Yes, the For All Time bridge is Michael stacked on top of himself singing harmony. That you can't hear that is telling.

You don't see the difference between the overall sound of that bridge and the classic MJ voice that immediately follows it, when the chorus comes in again? Didn't someone on your side, on this very board, say just a few days ago that the FAT bridge featured other background singers, but that MJ was there too. It's not as obvious as you say it is.

It could be a "stack-of-MJ's". But when were those vocals recorded? Why did they use this "stack", when it could have just been MJ "solo"? To cover for the difference between his "new" voice and his older voice from the lead vocal?

It could be MJ with a bunch of anonymous "hired" voices. Could even be MJ + Porte : wouldn't that be fun?

Could be there's no MJ at all.

For all Time.....

What a timeless, beautiful song that is.

A rare pearl.

Will love you for all time Michael.

Don't care if you drank a little too much or swallowed a little too much.

Yeah Kreen, I'm not blind to Michael's problems. But I can be both rational and emotional at the same time.

I have the feeling you think a lot of 'doubters' are a bunch of emotional people who can't think straight. Am I wrong?

I want to clear that misunderstanding up.

Those bridges on For All Time are identical on both. The only difference is that the first three lines of the bridge are sung very low by MJ in the original, and in the Thriller 25 version they have been stacked to make them stronger. So to be clear, it is all MJ on all of both bridges, just stacked in the second one.

Dude, I know Michael's voice. I could pick his voice out of 10 voices singing at the same time. It's MJ stacked.

I can't believe people think there is no MJ in that bridge. It's very clearly MJ stacked as you say. It's the same take stacked in the final release. How did the discussion get to this anyway? It has nothing to do with the fraudulent Cascio tracks.

Demo included one voice: MJ

2008 version includes multiple voices, where most of them sounds like MJ (I rechecked, making the vocals clearer, although it's not so easy to identify all voices when there are like 3-4-5 voices).

Why are we talking about this?...

It just came up in discussion is all. In my opinion it's very telling that kreen can't tell if he can hear Michael in the bridge. His voice is very prominent.

I'm more interested in discussing WBSS 2008.

Yes, but someone not being able to identify MJ in vocals where we have many voices is to me understandable. It's not so easy, cause it's confusing the brain with the other voices. Maybe MJ IS in a few parts in random places in the BG vocals on one or two of the Cascio songs - I can't say 100% for sure he isn't.

A lead vocal however - I'd like to discuss 08 WBSS as well. Kreen, suggesting it's from the 80s from a demo? You saying that tells you don't know MJ's voice very well. Anyone who knows MJ's voice well, can easily tell that voice is a much older MJ.

Here's a quick comparison, comparing 80s WBSS MJ to 08 WBSS MJ.

I always think Michael's voice sounds more bubbly and fluffy and light in the 08 version.

Soft like a baby's butt sorta.

For me, the Thriller album version of Startin' Somethin' vocally had the feel that Michael was bashing the media for their constant coverage of him, not unlike future tracks Tabloid Junkie, Privacy, etc. In the Akon remix Michael sounded more like he was giving a warning to anyone who hoped to become a star. His overall vocal performance sounded calmer and more subdued, but still with some energy. I really wish Michael had completely re-recorded Startin' Somethin' in 2008 with that effect.

WBSS (original) vocals are clearly younger, more tumultuous..:D

At least Birchey won't be going to trial now. I knew it would all be good in the end. Hopefully we will hear from him soon. At least he's ok and won't be getting locked up!

Some members of this board who have been dreaming to lock him up and to lynch him are going to be greatly disappointed. I am glad everything's settled.

^ Wow, didn't even know of that thread until today. Thanks, I often wonder how all of that is going.

Hopefully, the fiasco songs will leak in full soon so you can see why they didn't release songs like fall in love and ready 2 win
