Michael - The Great Album Debate

Oh? My "new song" thread a few months back says otherwise...

As Chamife said, he could probably fool with one sentence or two, but with a whole song? I strongly doubt it, despite his talent.

I remember that, yes.

The snippet Pentum posted was around a minute I think.

If Malachi can fool people, I do not see why Jean Walker (with some studio magic) could not. He is much better at imitating the sound of MJ's voice.

IMO Jean and Jasno are complementary. I personally don't see one better than the other. If people heard "Do I do" by Jasno, they could easily have been fooled by that song.

Damn, Jean is getting better and better with the English and the singing. Let's pray the Fiascos don't contact him.

There are some parts that do that blow me away...But, of course, his English gives him away, and I find he always has this whiny/childish sound to his voice that I don't believe can ever fool fans...It's so interspersed with the really good parts, it gives him away right away...

Yes, his imitation is good, but I don't think he could really fool MJ's fans. Set aside his different voice from MJ's, his vibrato is even faster than Jasno's.

There are many people who think Jean Walker sings Hollywood Tonight and the spoken lyrics on Childhood (Immortal Version).

Seems like one day Thriller will be questioned as well.

Hmm. In my opinion one sounds a little bit like MJ sometimes (Jean) and the other one never does (Jason). But that's just my opinion.

Clearly, both of them have fooled fans (see ADKI's example for instance).

Some people tried to debate Hollywood Tonight's authenticity in this thread. With all due respect, personally I don't even take time to respond to such a ridiculous doubt. Those who claim that have really zero knowledge of MJ's voice.

I never took Paris's claim seriously, she's just a kid. Latoya's or other people's comments on so called fake voice on Hollywood Tonight is pure a waste of time discussion. Saying that the vocals are fake on that song is indeed saying that MJ didn't sing Off The Wall, Thriller, Bad and so on. i have had never had a slightest doubt about Hollywood Tonight, ever. From the beginning till the end it is MJ's voice on that track.

Oh yes =P

Atleast he's out of the "possible lead vocalist" list now for some doubters. ;)

So it's not right for people to doubt Hollywood Tonight but it's perfectly fine to doubt Keep Your Head Up ?

Isn't that hypocritical ?

Oh Jean walker could DEFINITELY fool some fans. I mean, if some people believe, 2 years later, that Jason's pathetic attempt at "fall in love" is real, I think MY voice could fool people.

And OMG its not hypocritical to not doubt Hollywood because Hollywood is real and KYHU is fake. Its the opposite of hypocritical

OMG! You said this exact same thing before and clearly you didn't even read my post about it! ...It's not hypocritical...Hollywood Tonight sounds exactly like MJ, no doubt whatsoever...I'm sorry, but if people are doubting that one, they do not know MJ's voice...PERIOD (I really don't care if I offend anyone saying that because the very thought of it is insulting, seriously) If Hollywood Tonight could be compared to the doubts on Keep Your Head Up, we'd have an 1800 page thread debating the vocals too...But we don't...THAT'S why it's not the same, and THAT'S why it's not hypocritical....You even said yourself that the Cascio songs sound 'a bit off'...Does HT sound a bit off too? I don't think so. According to your logic, we might as well question every single MJ song that's ever existed...You can't just throw it all in the same basket that way....

No offence ADKI, but you've been part of this debate long enough to understand this...

You THINK it's fake not a proven fake.

@Arklove I know what you mean but I never said all of MJ's songs should be questioned and if I ever did it was being sarcastic.

And it is hypocritical because other fans (Doubters) are calling Hollywood Tonight fake and you are calling Keep Your Head Up fake so why isn't their opinions respected as much as you want yours respected?

"Hollywood Tonight sounds exactly like MJ, no doubt whatsoever...I'm sorry, but if people are doubting that one, they do not know MJ's voice...PERIOD"

As I said, Hollywood Tonight sounds classic MJ....If people are doubting it, then they don't know his voice...How can you respect the opinion of those who think that a classic MJ song which can be compared to any other in his career, is fake? One may as well doubt then the authenticity of Bad, or They Don't Care About Us, or Liberian Girl or whatever....Does that sound logical to you? As for Hollywood Tonight, I'm not even talking about Michael running through his demo or his notes for it because we don't NEED these things to know it's Michael....We only have to listen to the voice...The Cascio songs can't be compared to any other MJ song in his career. Therein lies the difference...That's what I'm saying...

I know Hollywood Tonight is MJ just as I know Keep Your Head Up, Monster, and Breaking News are sung by MJ.

But I was just saying because to us believers when something like this comes up it feels odd because a doubter calls Hollywood Tonight fake and then another calls Monster fake but the one that calls Monster fake always thinks he's right.

@azsummergirl Care to provide some evidence?

"Innocent until proven guilty"

Look at this post that I found on MichaelJackson.com

LOL...u just said that u know those songs are MJ and then ask azsummergirl to provide evidence that the songs are fake?

Now who's being hypocritical?

It is perfectly all right for anyone to doubt anything they want. I said I don't care who doubts HT, because I am not going to waste my time on debating it at all, because for me it would be the same as debating with people who would doubt BAD or THRILLER.

The same goes for those who claimed that there was a double that was used for This Is It. I just didn't care nor did I have my precious time to waste on such ridiculous statements.

Not long ago I saw people claiming that a double was used for MJ's BAD video. All I do is just skip.

It is not a question of hypocrisy, it is a question of not wanting to waste my precious time.

Now, as far as the Cascio tracks go, they just appeared by magic out of some underground studio with a strange accent, vibrato, different timbre, no power, no nothing. To me those songs are not even close to any of MJ's song. (I am not talking about melodies or rhythm, but purely about the voice). And as I stated earlier in this post, even if by some kind of I don't of magic it appears that those vocals are genuine, it is an abomination and total disrespect to release them for commercial and marketing purpose.

Elvis Presley's Estate, for example refuses to release an Elvis's song that sounds off even though a forensic is undoubtedly formal it is Elvis's voice. At least that forensic explained why he thinks it's Elvis and accepted to be filmed.

In our case we have non-forensic's Eddie's unsure voice on Oprah saying "this is Michael's voice" and Teddy's amateurish answer "Nobody can scream like that" implying that this is how we should know that it is indeed MJ's voice (yet omits to say that the screams were copy-pasted).

So, even though, I don't need a single confirmation about HT authenticity, thos who doubt it have at least handwritten notes of the song and a recording of the demo session.

And I also miss enthousiastic stories from Eddie Cascio.

Look how impressed all the other producers were about working with Michael. It's such a pleasure to read. One anekdote after another.
Eddie never shared any exitement or any memorable (funny) story or oneliners like "I want a beat when people hear it they just wanna eat it" from Michael in all these three months they worked hard. His dream came true...working with the one who encouraged him and inspired him to write music and songs and he has nothing to say about that?? Or maybe he wasn't that impressed anymore after all these years knowing Michael.
