Michael - The Great Album Debate

I think is because Stella was banned before for no reason at all and people here have his back or are kinda protective over him. And at this point you were kinda provoking him and some found that unfair and responded to his defense.

no one gets banned for no reason first of all, that's an insult to the moderation team. secondly it wasn't a ban but a time-out , there's no need to exaggerate it. thirdly people have been protective before the ban as well. and lastly I'm not provoking him. This is a heated discussion thread and people that cannot handle it and see it as an attack etc should not be in this thread to start with. Furthermore as I wrote multiple times he had already had a "whatever" post and over the topic and yet you all came poking making it bigger and bigger and go on longer and longer.

Ivy, come on now, let's not blow it out of proportion either. All people are saying is that we're equally obsessed or else we wouldn't bother coming back to this thread. Singling out one person and expressing concern is as appropriate as actually expressing concern for all of us who keep on coming back to this thread. Why would Stella be more obsessed than any of us? Are we any better? I don't think so, we're all on the same ship, so let's have a nice cruise.

Time for a little something we don't often hear on the radio waves:

Oh, yes you were provoking him. What did he said that you called him obsessed? He made an observation on a thread about the Cascio songs. So the right comment in the right place. So why with the obsessed thing? And if we take it a little bit further, if Stella is obsessed, then we all are obsessed. so you are actually offending every single one in here, including yourself, (if that is possible of course.)

Furthermore as I wrote multiple times he had already had a "whatever" post and over the topic and yet you all came poking making it bigger and bigger and go on longer and longer.

No, actually he said whatever and you kept provoking him and at some point even suggesting that you are concerned about his mental health? Let me see
And yes this concerns me. Furthermore I have seen " I will shoot myself" comment as well over a possible use of a song in a Canadian documentary - to me that's not normal
The thing is that some people here who have been witness of you exaggerating on a situation between you and Stella, thought of supporting him. Now you are trying to make it sound like we exaggerate but who is exaggerating i believe everyone here can see it.

So, all in all what i'm trying to say is that if you provoke then be prepare for people to answer back.

I listen to all this stuff all the time in my car (it just happens to shuffle to these songs on my ipod lol)...I love this particular time and the transition of his voice...Still sounds a bit like a child, but maturing into an adult...

But for whatever reason God forbid if I ever write something to Stella, 3-5 people jump on my back attacking me and defending him. Why the need for that?

This is a heated discussion thread and people that cannot handle it and see it as an attack etc should not be in this thread to start with.

Oh, the irony...

BTW I'm not attacking you here. I'm just pointing it out. People did jump out to defend Stella, but from where I'm sitting, I didn't see it as a personal attack directed at you. Maybe you took it personally, but I'm sure no one who saw your comment thought: "OMG! Let's attack her for calling Stella obsessed! Let's not use completely valid points to defend him and just attack her for no reason, make it personal too."

Defend? Yes. Attack? I wouldn't say so...

Don't take this the wrong way Ivy. I understand your concern for fellow MJ fans and their 'obsessions', especially since some of them got in trouble for them but seriously, people here don't just sit around waiting to attack you whenever you post something. At least I hope they don't...

Thanks for posting the songs Bumper.

Maybe a bit morbid, but 'I'll come home to you' to me is a perfect funeral song. That's what I thought of, anyway. Never heard it before.

And 'Here I am' sounded familiar to me. I only knew this version, same intro:

But I sooooo prefer Michael's..:D.

When he sings at 0.14: "A burning deeeeeppp down inside", or at 0.24 "I know it's yooouuuu and me baby"....and think about his age at that time, 15....and then compare them with the interpretations of songs of the Cascio singer......

Enough said.

Yup! Definitely....His skill at that young of an age (and even younger) far surpasses the skill of the Cascio singer...hands down...

Well that's cuz there's no goaty vibratos, snorts and no inserted words within sentences to fabricate a new one. It flows sweetly, softly and naturally.

But that's too much to ask for a posthumous release, I guess....

And people wonder why we have a problem with these songs...

Yes, saw that on Youtube... Don't know that Al Green version though.

Yup, with Michael it comes naturally...because of natural talent and watching and studying the greatest from a young age.

BAD era lovers, here's something I remember I recorded on VHS back in time :)

Better not post too many videos...We're obsessed :nono: :D

When you see the fans in the documentary the obsession is the weakest word to describe them... and, yes I used to be one of them. Now I have kids and so on, but it's still within me. Michael's magic touched me as far as to wake some kind of obsession in me. The Cascio tracks never managed to wake the same feelings, except one: disgust.

Of course....It's almost like you just can't help but have that magic in you....He stays with you forever :D

That's why this Cascio issue is so hard to swallow :(

To swallow? I can't even smell it. These songs are NOT MJ's. Period.

I'm an 'off the wall' girl. The real masshysteria came after that, I think.

That 'where it began' video was emotional and all kinds of different thoughts went through my mind.

And of course also: "How is it possible that an artist with, how much?, millions of fans throughout his carreer....Fans that bought his music, put their ears to the speakers to hear his every breath in his songs, changed their lives because of him....screamed their lungs out calling his name, fainted in concerts, traveled countries to see him....is replaced by another singer without it getting any real attention. My mind cannot understand that.

It is unfair beyond words.

You know, I closely followed him (not geographically), and I witnessed how much MJ's populariry was tarnished by the accusations. It all ended in 1993. The rest of his career he tried so hard to re-build it, but the press continuously suggested that he was a pedophile.

Another thing he should have never done imo was that interview with Oprah. MJ's private life is none of anyone's business. Also, the one billion contract in 1991 with SONY definitely affected MJ's freedom of creativity.

A think a lot of fans were fooled and there are others who simply refuse to even accept the possibility. And I understand that. I really do. I would do anything for the songs, regardless of quality, to be Michael. I'd rather have the crappiest MJ songs ever than a masterpiece sung by a soundalike simply because of what such a thing represents: betrayal and exploitation. But I can't help, what to me, is instantly recognisable.

I have exactly the same feeling. Why do I enjoy more listening to Niteline than Monster?

I'd rather hear him singing 'dun ber ber lee' in the Billie Jean demo than Monster....Michael simply mumbling gibberish elicits more soul than these songs....I wonder why that is...
