Michael - The Great Album Debate

Shout is awesome. I wish it would be added to itunes so more people hear it.

I remember when I bought the maxi cd and heard it for the first time. I just couldn't believe it wasn't on the Invincible album.

A little anecdote though, when I inserted my Invincible album in my old pc, the tracklist was indicating the song SHOUT. I think that the song had been probably forseen, but finally replaced by "You are my life" or another one, I can't remember right now by which one.

I agree, I love Shout.
To think some people in youtube still think that's not MJ...

Whaaat? Really?

You know, when I heard 2000 Watts, I was like, 'Oh his voice is deeper..'...then I moved on...lol...I never once thought it wasn't him...I never once doubted...Same with Shout...He raps so quickly, but clearly it's him...

It was replaced by You Are My Life at the very last minute. Originally it went 2000 Watts, Shout, Don't Walk Away, Privacy, Cry until Michael swapped Shout for YAML and shuffled the songs around. Shout was even on the tracklisting in the first press release.

Yeap. Not long ago I was watching a video and some people believed that, it was just a few people but still. :)
Maybe they are casual fans. I never had doubts either but I can understand why some believe is not him in Shout, probably because he raps so quickly and almost like whispering (not sure if whispering it's the right word here).
2000 Watts it's soooo him though.

Yeah, it's like this husky whisper....but I could never doubt it cuz he's pretty much speaking and you can hear his pronunciation so clearly..

Of course I could never doubt it either, it's just that I understand why they think that way :)

Besides it being a completely awesome song, the lyrics are amazing too :)

I love Shout!!! Awesome lyrics. Excellent vocals. The bridge is simply out of this world. I had the song in loop once. Just couldn't get enough of it.

Same with We've Had Enough...the buildup in that song to the climax...gives me shivers..

This!.
MJ's voice give me shivers most of the time, that's something I could never experience with certain tracks...

EDIT.
Captain Obvious reporting for duty: I'll say that I meant "Cascio tracks" when I said "certain tracks", just to avoid confusion.

Ok, Captain Obvious is saying goodbye now.

Hey guys lets cool it. There is not anything unusual or special about their account except they are a Jr member. Now most likely this member is interested in reading topics on the board. Is there any specific reason this members is being harrased or called out in this is thread for doing that ? It may seem fun to you but maybe not to them. You may be creeping them out so Please lets dont do that. Thanks

Will You Be There. Not shivers, but some sort of trance. It sucks me in completely. Only song I've ever had this feeling with.

....and the speakers each time a little bit louder until the climax of the song (for the ultimate experience..:D).

Naaah :D Nasty and burn2nite have been lurking forever in this thread, we are not scaring them away, they have become like furniture to this thread, completely imbricated.

Believe me or not, I have had the same feeling plus the shivers with every single song, whenever I heard MJ's voice. I never cared if I actually liked the song itself or not, to me from the moment I could hear his voice it was like drugs. I needed to have the song even a snippet of it.

When I had Internet I tried to find unreleased stuff that I have been looking for forever, among others the unreleased songs Bumper Snippet, Nite Line, Trouble, and all the titles that I was reading in the press that I couldn't possibly buy anywhere nor get anywhere.

Before this website was created, it was called differently. I think it changed twice actually before becoming MJJC. I was here from the very beginning. And I waq lurking for a single news, unreleased leak etc. When too many people started downloading too many songs from Internet, the unreleased stuff have become a privilege and usually you had to register and be a member before accessing the links.

It was on another website that I had finally managed to download Trouble, Niteline, etc.. in 1997 or 1998 on floppy disks with a very low quality. I made it listen to another MJ fan, but I was disappointed by his reaction who said "I understand why he never released them". It is then that I understood that not all MJ fans, no matter how big fans they were, were not as obsessed as I was or as people I saw on MJ videos screaming, shouting, fainting...

To me the fact that MJ's voice is present in a song makes it a good song, and not the other way round. To me if MJ sang a song, it means that to him it was worthy singing it and that it mattered. So I always tried to understand his styles and choice for singing any of the song he sang, including the Motown's ones, like for example the songs from the album Farewell My Summer Love, I just love it!

Now, again, I am turning my self to this topic, for the first time in my life of my hardcore fandom of literally melting when I heard no matter what MJ song, I just had the opposite reaction when I heard the voice on Breaking News and Monster! I am not talking about the songs whether they are good or not. They are indeed catchy, but the voice for the first time in my life left me indifferent, without a slightest shiver, without a slightest feeling of trance, without an ounce of magic.

For the first time while listening to those songs I was frowning and whispering to myself "ouch! ouch!" first because of unusual flat (non-sparkling/unhusky) voice timbre and second because of the pronunciation of some words. For the first time ever, I felt awful when hearing a supposed MJ track. That's why I had already said earlier in this thread, even if Michael Jackson came himself and told me that it is him singing, I'd answer him "Look man, listen to the voice, that ain't no yours!" To me it's just a new voice, and at the same time very disturbing because of some similarities, but no real perfect match with what I had been used to hear over the years day and night.

And all I've got from the Estate to convince me is a report with nothing to back their words? No way, I am just not buying promises, words, blablahs. Give me something tangible.

I cannot stop listening to the Invincible album.
Just noticed I didn't listen to any Cascio song all day :)

I just wish that Sony would release a 10th anniversary edition of Invincible with a shiny/3D slip case that shows all the covers in 1, but yeah I'm sure they won't but it would have been amazing to get a 10th anniversary edition.

Oh and @QBee we're not harassing anyone :) (I hope we're not)

And anticipate the hype of discovering maybe some unreleased songs or getting curious about the remixes and alternative versions such as Bad Extended, 12"The way you make me feel, 12" Billie Jean, 12" Smooth Criminal, 12" Another part of me, or SHOUT on CRY Maxi cd:

The unreleased tracks is what really excited me bout cd singles but the remixes never fazed me

Well, do you know why I liked the remixes?

Because back in the 80s I had the BAD album to which I was listening so many times that I damaged it and had to buy it 7 times. I was so eager to hear any new stuff that even a remix had a wow effect on me. Especially when I heard BAD extended on the radio for the first time which I recorded. There were some ad-libs and vocals that were not on official albums. So it was extra voice, extra verse, extra ad-lib, etc. Since then, I couldn't afford to miss a single official remix. However since Internet came there have been so many official remixes from different countries that it's been a ruin to buy them, not to talk about fan made remixes and bootleg albums, it was too much.

Not sure I heard that before, the 'false fade' makes me doubt it.*Copies 'Bad Extended version false fade', pastes it into Googlebar*:D
Oh you'll love it! Michael's ad libs are fantastic!I like it better than the original :)

It's so cool, it just goes on forever with MJ ad libbing all over that shieeaat
