Michael - The Great Album Debate

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

I think it's the closest he came to a fully released classical work. I know some of the long album intro is sampled from a real classical work, but even the composition of the rest of it is closer to the classics than pop and yet somehow manages to remain mainstream.

Sometimes I think, if the only songs Michael Jackson had ever made were Who Is It & Will You Be There he would still be my favourite artist ever.

The first half is from beethoven symphony number 9 i believe, i think it's his from when it stops the loud full choir, and softens a little.

I know & at end of MITM at Grammy's or Bucharest.

I was listening to Will You Be There last week, I so wished he'd have sung this live, even if it was just the ad-libs at the end.

He never did it but on this particular performance the playback goes out too early.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

i love how people who believe the tracks are fake, only compare JM songs in PARTS the he sounds like the cascio tracks, listen to his songs in full, he struggles to keep that voice... just saying

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

Of course we do parts. What, you want me to cut and paste all of his songs to one audio or something? So you could use your whole day listening to all of Jason's songs?

:hysterical::jump:

And on top of that you should have interveiwed Jason and ask him if it's him on the songs. Of course the unexpected answer from him would be:

Have you found any Michael Jackson songs to compare them to? No? What a surprise.

Hold on, hold on a minute.

Didn't you upload the full album "7Even" on Youtube, then removed it?

No, 100% real! With Michael Jackson's greatest hits "Let Me Go", "Bigger Man", "Get Her Off My Mind" and "Mamacita"!

For a moment I thought I got duped when I bought that album on a black market as a rarity for 3499.00€. Thanks guys to corroborate my thoughts that it is a genuine album in which I invested quite a sum.

Mamacita? Mama say mama got you in a zig zag? hmmmm.....

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

Heavily processed vocals with Smooth Criminal, maybe we should suggest it to Teddy:

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

Are you being sarcastic? He forgot the accent that he used from age 11 to 40 for the brief period when he 'recorded' with the Cascios? You're either being sarcastic or you're having a laugh.

It's COMPLETELY relevant. Unfortunate as that may be for you.

Why would it be unfortunate for me? Michael sounds different from the age of 14 to the age of 30. Sure, you can tell it's him, that doesn't mean as he aged, that his faster paced songs had a raspier voice, as opposed to the strong, angelic voice he used on similar songs from Off The Wall and Thriller. That doesn't mean he didn't vocally mature, keep in mind, the "we can still tell it's Michael", is still subjective, unfortunate as that may be for you.

Line one of 'All I need' "Coz this time of ours is borrowed"

2:44 (Bridge) Keep your head Up- "Everybody Say the time is borrowed"

They couldn't even be bothered to change the fucking lyrics.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

Just listen to quality of the vocals on DYKWYCA and STTR, perfection as well as blue gangster, they have tracks with stronger vocals and stronger music, why they chose these 3 songs is impossible for me to understand. And more importantly those songs were sung by Michael Jackson.

It's unfortunate for you because it's just further embarrassment, following the revelation that you originally didn't hear Michael Jackson on these tracks and now you do. 'How he sounded at 14 is irrelevant to how he sounded at 48' is complete nonsense. He was a supreme, skilled vocalist at 14. Which, according to the bullshit Cascio songs, he wasn't at 48. Not only was he completely unskilled at 48 - even though he would have had 40 years of experience - he also lost his accent, his dexterity, the texture of his voice, every little piece of skill he had, his vibrato control, his ability to extend notes, his ability to hit notes, and on and on.

So him being a fantastic vocalist at 14 is completely relevant to the bullshit being fed to us regarding the Cascio songs.

As unfortunate as that may be for your ridiculous take on events. Depending, of course, on what your take is today, that is. It's already gone through one paradigm shift... so where do you stand today?

I should remind you that the title of this thread includes the line *'ONLY go here if you want the controversy to continue'. Why do you pop up in here just to provoke arguments? You don't want the controversy to continue, so why do you continue to post in here?*

This supreme vocalist at age 11:

has a further 20 years experience and sounds like this

And then with another 20 years of experience loses EVERY noticeable semblance of his former self? Just for the three month period while he stays at the Cascios house?

It's completely pathetic.

exactly.

When I first heard Monster, I thought he was saying "Mamacita" haha

Also the pronounciation. In BN the person sings "wan-in a piece" in Monster he says "haun-in me" (I thought he was saying "WHY YOU HONKIN ME!" and that would mean it's about "every where you seem to turn there's a Mazda" and Monster trucks XD) and in Stay "Wai-in on me" He can't pronounce his "Ts"... Someone told me this is like a New York or New Jersey accent. Well Jason's from Maryland, and like the Cascios he's Italian-American. Hmm...

Hmm... All of a sudden, Michael had a NY/NJ accent although he's born in Indiana, grew up in California and never spent extended time in NY...

I know, maybe it's not him singing.

Has anyone thought of that?

Crazy talk. Sony wouldn't lie...

Oh... wait a minute...

You mean the same company who paid Michael 1 billion $ (a contract looking like a loan rather than a salary) in 1991 for several albums within a period of 10 years (without enough promotion)? The company who insured Michael and paid the Chandlers? The company which in 2001 (when the contract was expiring) "never" tried to obtain the Beatles catalogue that Michael possessed? The company which paid 250 million $ for, among others, questionable tracks opening the door to even more questionable tracks in the future?

Hmmm, I really miss the old good days when Michael wasn't under SONY's pressure to deliver music,...

As much as I like SONY's electronic products, I hate their music industry branch putting huge stress on artists and asking for figures rather than quality music. It has come to such an extent that today's singers sing for the money, whereas before they sang for the love of singing. Never will the money motivation be superior or even equal the love motivation for singing and composing music. We've never had so much crap music as nowdays.

On top of that we have unrecognizable so called Michael's voice on songs such as Monster, Keep your head up and Breaking News. Even if --let's push the argument to the extreme-- it was Michael singing on those tracks, was it worthy releasing them in those conditions. Imagine if Michael had fun and recorded some tracks with chipmunk proceessed voice, would they release them too? What's the point in listening to a MJ album if you don't hear --or halfhear-- MJ's voice?

you know it's not only Sony but all the record companies unless you go with a indie label or form your own label.

I don't really understand why people consider older days to be less pressured or more perfect. Motown made them sing whatever they wanted and didn't allow J5 to use songs they wrote, kept their J5 name etc. Furthermore if you read about the history of Motown you'll see a lot of complaints about money and ripping of the artists.

In short I don't think that record companies were these artist friendly artistic integrity places that turned evil. Instead they were always after the winning formula that made them the most money.
