Michael - The Great Album Debate

So Arky, did you have a good, "Michael"-free birthday? What did you get? :D

Anyone wanna see my MJ chart? Actually, it's more of an era timeline...

1964-1969 Chitlin' Circuit Era (AKA Steeltown Era)
1969-1975 Motown Era
1975-1979 Jacksons Era
1979-1982 Off the Wall Era
1982-1987 Thriller Era (AKA Victory Era 1984 onwards)
1987-1991 Bad Era
1991-1995 Dangerous Era
1995-2001 HIStory Era (AKA Blood on the Dance Floor Era 1997 onwards)
2001-2003 Invincible Era
2003-2009 Vagabond Era (AKA Number Ones Era)
2009-2010 This Is It Era (AKA Unreleased Era/Film Era)
2011-???? IMMORTAL Era

Personally I think the IMMORTAL Era should be the last defining era for us, a nice cap to the King's reign.

You forgot the best: the Cascio era :D

You forgot the best: the Cascio era :D

See, I WANTED to put that in, but I think the term "Questionable Tracks Followed By Suspicious Silence Era/Fan Split Over Questionable Tracks Era/Cascio Era" was too much of a mouth-full ;) Hey, we gotta be truthful, huh? :D

Maybe if you create Jason's chart, you could insert the Cascio era somewhere. :D

19??-2007 Supposed MJ Fanship Era
2007-2010 Suspicious Tracks Recorded, Let Me Let Go Release Era/Third Person Gloating Era (AKA Fan Split Beta Era)
2010-20?? Critical Era/Mysterious Disappearance From Internet After Premier of Breaking News Era

Any good? :D

Yeah really.
Well let's start official
"Michael" album booklet :)

Now people and companies

Teddy Riley,Eddie Cascio, Bruce Swedien, Dr. Freeze, Michael Prince, Stewart Brawley, Matt Forger, Howard Weitzman, John Branca, 2 Forensic Musicologists, Epic Records, Sony Music, Michael Jackson Estate.

Teddy Riley worked with Michael for over 20 years.
Eddie Cascio knew Michael since he was a child and was like a family to him.
Bruce Swedien work on all of Michael's albums.
Dr. Freeze produced songs for Michael's Invincible album.

Now why would all these people confirm it's Michael if it's "Not" Michael ? Shouldn't they know his voice since they worked with him so many times.

2 forensic musicologists that are trained to identify vocals and match them to others how can they be fooled ?

And why would Sony Music, Epic Records, and Michael Jackson's estate risk everything for 3 songs ?

"Sorry Ear, you deceived me when you told me the Cascio tracks were fake. All the people employed by SONY or can financially gain from them are telling me that they're real. And dammit, they MUST be telling the truth! After all, only crazy people listen to their instincts and ears."

I hadn't asked you anything else but who said it was Michael.

Now, you answered who said it.

Ok those people claim so. Do Michael Jackson's fans -including the hardcore ones- share what those people say? You see it for yourself that the fans don't share what those people said. Why?

Because there is a good reason for that: fans don't need anyone to tell them what or who they hear, especially if it's their idol they've been listening to.

Many do some don't.

Why do you think this thread this Believer free ?

Because they know it's MJ and they have no point of coming here and many of them are hardcore Michael Jackson fans.

Why do you think there are like 10 Doubters here ?

Trust me there are more than 10 doubters. There are maybe at least 11 doubters. :D

10 doubters? What am I reading?

Clearly, you haven't been following this "debate" since the start.

They don't know it's Michael. There is absoluetly no proof whatsoever that these questionabke songs are Michael.

Let's talk about what we hear...

Few days ago Stella had posted a Malachi song saying how convincing it would be with MJ adlibs. People commented on it either saying it sounded better and like Michael or said it sounded nothing like Michael.

I set to listen to it using a technique I was told. (side bar: when the lead vocalist of the band I worked for started to take vocal lessons I heard about technique a lot and the vocal coach had told me to listen to songs in an absolute silent environment with no distractions with no lights with my eyes closed so you focus on what you hear and you listen to the delivery - not words or meaning just the style)

While I was listening to the song I laughed. Still Jason was struggling and didn't have a flow, it was forced. Still he had a different breathing pattern/ technique, had troubles with high notes , falsetto.

In short Jason might sound like Michael to some but he certainly doesn't have Michael's technique and delivery style. It makes sense because that's is learned and not copied. To me personally Jason's technique and delivery isn't a match to Cascio songs at all. I feel people micro focused on certain words and vibrato on end of lines and cannot see the bigger picture.

I wrote this before and I'll write this again. It might not be Michael but I'm also having hard time believing it's Malachi. That's one of the reasons that makes me take doubters seriously sometimes..

ps: and sorry to burst some of you's bubble that believers are all logic or believing to statements. There's a hearing factor as well.

Exactly, we did a petition before the album came out which was signed by 39 fan clubs and 7 and a half thousand fans asking for the Cascio tracks to be removed.

Irrelevant. You haven't heard the Cascio demos. If you had heard Fall In Love, Water etc then you would realise that those poorly sung songs are quite clearly Jason, struggling to keep in tune. And it should be noted that the Cascio singer quite clearly does not have Michael's technique and delivery style, which is why we are here. As dor the flow, there is no difference between the Cascio singer and Jason imo.

and the album sold 2.5 Million. This is the official number given by MJ Estate.

2,500,000 > 7,500

Sony et al. might not consider doubters significant, sorry but it might be a reality.

I heard Water, very recently I heard Burn 2 nite. I think Fall in love might be the only one that I didn't hear. and you are irrelevant.

And you think all 2.5 million were hard core fans that were aware of this situation in the first place?

I heard Water and you are irrelevant.

Thanks for the insult. I was simply stating that your opinion is irrelevant if you have't heard heard all the demos. The last time it was discussed you said you hadn't.

doesn't matter if they were hardcore fans or not. It just must show that doubters aren't causing that much difference hence they might consider them as significant.

if you don't want to be insulted , don't insult my opinion.
If you insult me, I'll insult you back.
now you can cry and complain. (man I called it :p )

meanwhile I'll wait for intelligent replies from other people.

Now Ivy, you are right. I myself am guilty of saying that Malachi sounded more convincing on ONE of those tracks than the Cascio vocalist. That just tells me I have to learn Malachi's voice more. But please answer this: you say the flow of the Cascio vocalist doesn't match Malachi. Say Malachi isn't trying to imitate Michael's technique/style in his own songs, yet in the Cascio tracks he (hypothetically) would try his best to copy it because he's passing himself off as Michael. Is that scenario somewhat believable?

I didn't insult it. I simply said it was irrelevant if you hadn't heard the demos, which you haven't. It was not an insult. It was a fact. You are commenting on songs that you haven't even heard, hence it is irrelevant. I did not insult you. Of course you had to insult me though. Twice now. Act like a moderator and grow up. You should lead by example.
