Michael - The Great Album Debate

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

Can someone enlighten me please.

Is this one of the Cascios, and if yes, was it really filmed in 2010?

It's Eddie and Grace

but it wasn't filmed in 2010

see below picture and see that the clothes match
(in the second one you can see Eddie's partial body as well)

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

probably old news by now, but here's jermaine's latest tweet:

"Hi! I've always sd the new album is not Michael in its entirety. I know his sound, it's not 100% him" --@jermjackson5

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

Jermaine just want's some attention once in a while.

For the next 10 years Jermaine will propably say once every 2 month - Oh and by the way, on the album "Michael" it is not entirely MJ singing!" Just seeking a little attention.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

ya, maybe . . . doesn't make it any less true.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

In the next 10 years, I WILL still be declaring those songs fake, so Jermaine won't be alone...

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

and now the comparison video from the previous page is gone... hm.

I'll go with you to the infinity and beyond.

Go Jermaine Go, we support you in those coments.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

^^ Yeah, never mind 10 years.

Til the day I die...

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

Embedded for you. :D Just click on the 'embed' button under the video, and copy/paste it...

I know what you mean, though..the excuses...If you want to believe it's Michael...that's fine....but I just find it SO alarming that a MASSIVE amount of excuses need to be made in order to justify that it's Michael singing....It's tiring, and just completely useless...It's NOT him...

Excuses are only made because you keep asking for them.

You don't have to respect people's opinions. I don't respect Hitler's opinions, for example. I respect his right to have an opinion. But the opinion itself, I don't respect.

Now you're comparing people who don't share your opinion regarding this matter, to Hitler? Give me a break, get over yourself. People have the right to believe what they want, with that right comes another right that people don't have be told they're wrong over and over again. Nor do they have to be told that belief is a result of being 'deluded' or 'brainwashed', respecting an opinion means just that, there always comes a point where you agree to disagree. And to stop telling people their opinion is wrong, and why.

No. Excuses are only made when the 'truth' doesn't add up. Again. And again. And again.

Desperate attempt to cause an argument. My 'Hitler' reference had nothing to do with Jesta. Absolutely nothing. It was a reference to 'opinions'. Which was clear to every member of this board without an agenda.

Everytime someone posts that it's Michael Jackson on those tracks, hence, that I'm wrong, I have EVERY right to counter that claim. That's democracy for ya.

I still await your response to my question that I posted earlier regarding your sudden and swift turnaround. How did you go from claiming 'something is up' to 'hearing Michael' on these tracks? You can continue to ignore me, but your silence only speaks volumes I'm afraid.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

I'm listening to This Is It now. A thought just came to my mind. I remember fans' reaction to the song was generally negative. Many fans felt deceived by the Estate. This Is It is a song discarded by Michael. It's clearly a demo recorded in the early 80's. However, the Estate advertized it as a "brand new song recorded specially for the This Is It tour." Many fans felt the production of the song is outdated and dislike the Jacksons' background vocals. No matter how one feels about the song, one cannot deny the fact that This Is It features genuine vocals of Michael Jackson.

Now, many fans who reacted negatively toward the song This Is It support the Cascios tracks. Why? In terms of quality of the vocals, This Is It (also a demo) blows the Cascio tracks miles away.

Sorry for my randomness... Just a thought...

Good observation. I'd like to know too, now that you bring it up. I wasn't entirely privy to how others reacted to the song. Although, its clear that we are hearing 100% MJ vocals, I never really actually liked the song, so I guess I didn't pay much attention to it.

Something else that really saddens me is that I find more and more fans seem to only care about getting MJ to number one. Quality and preservation of Michael's legacy seems to be taking a back seat. Not to mention a disgusting slap in the face.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

I loved This Is It the first time I heard it.

But yes, the song is from the late 80's/early 90's so of course it isn't going to sound like Michael Jackson from 2007.

I know. I don't know whether to laugh or to cry about the chart and sales obsessions. I mean do we really need another #1 to validate Michael's achievements? Another #1 really doesn't mean much.

This Is It is not my favorite song, but it's still a lovely ballad. Do people react more favorably toward the Cascio tracks because the Cascio tracks are more mainstream and have higher potential to become hits?

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

The single 'This Is It' was a disgrace. An absolute disgrace. The beginning of Sony's 'hack and slash' approach to Michael Jackson's legacy. I work in multimedia. And the 'orchestral' version of 'This Is It' is a complete fraud... they lifted a file from their OWN commercially available audio library (The file is called 'Orchestra Warming Up' and is on Sony's 'Complete Sound Effects Vol 6') and tagged it onto the front-end of that song.

To the layman, it's an orchestra warming up. To someone in the know it's a disgusting, shoddy, patch-job with a COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE audio file! And then you have that tapping... before Michael counts in the track? Just a fucking horror show. Like putting pieces of Frankenstein's monster back together. Disgusting.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

Actually the song sounds as if it was from the late 70s and it is much more touching as far as lyrics are concerned than all the Cascio songs united. As far as vocals are concerned, for a demo it is brilliant compared to the Cascio tracks.

This is it ressembles very much "Bless his soul" which is also a good song:

Yes, that sounds plausible. It seems to tie in with the obsession with chart positions. That's the thing with the Cascio tracks. I've heard people say, 'Oh, it may not be 100% Michael, but it's a sure hit, let's get it to number one!' Huh? This sort of thinking puzzles me.

Bless His Soul is a MASTERPIECE. There are some fans who claim that Michael only became 'personal' in his songwriting in his later years. Just listen to the Destiny and Triumph albums for 'personal' references. Just a GENIUS songwriter. And as Quincy said, that skill must have been so cathartic for him.

"Sometimes I cry ,cause I'm confused
Is this a fact of being used
There is no life for me at all
'Cause I give myself at beck and call"

Genius.

Now THAT is something I didn't know...Not that I'm surprised, of course..

It's crazy! It's NOT Michael and it's NOT a hit....it's a r&b/pop slow tempo track that comes a dime a dozen. Michaels mastery far exceeds this perfunctory track.

Ha! Just found it on YouTube. GO ON SONY, DELETE IT OFF YOUTUBE! Destroy all evidence! Quick, quick!!!

Agreed...All three are a dime a dozen. Do we know if 'Monster' is still being considered for a single release?

But how far can this pleasing go...

Exactly! The song This Is It, while not great, is of higher quality than any one of the Cascio tracks. It's a demo; yet, the vocal is good enough to get a Grammy nod.

The Cascio tracks, supposedly are demos as well, sound far inferior than anything Michael had ever recorded.

I don't understand some fans' thinking neither. Of course Sony puts profitability above quality. But, why fans are so obsessed with getting a "hit" rather than a quality track? Michael Jackson doesn't need another hit song. What he needs is respect.
