Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)
Well the main thing that it's similiar to 'Michael' and Malachi in this comparisons is the vibrato.Theoretically they said that they screwed up/stretched the vocals so this vibrato appeared/was added.
What it's really strange is that even the samples from the other songs had that weird vibrato added and people (including me) didn't even realize who was really singing there. As you can see in one of my lasts posts here, I was making fun of the last snippet of Soldier Boy saying that the snippet is fake as hell/weak/weird and things like that. After I said that I listened to the snippet again with headphones (as it was 12-1 AM here and my mother was sleeping) and noticed that before the 'weird' 'Hee-Hee-Hee' there was an 'Ah!' before and after it.It seemed familiar and I thought it was similar to something.I started to search through the acapellas I had and noticed that it was the SAME 'Hee-Hee-Hee' from 'They Don't Care About Us'.
Even though it was the same, I wasn't able to notice it because of the weird vibration added to the vocals. This tracks might come up to be real, in the end, and I might get back on my Cascio-defender/believer position.Just waiting fore another leak to make my final decision.
Those would technically still be considered 'copy-and-pastes' and the majority of the vocals with the vibrato would still be faked.
And no it's not just the vibrato, it's the way the songs are sung and performed and the vibrato and the yelling and
everything screams Malachi instead of Michael, in my opinion. Then I go and listen to Slave To The Rhythm or Best Of Joy or Behind The Mask and I'm blown away.
I think one of the best parts of the comparisons are not the vibrato parts but just the little identical quirks between Malachi tracks and the Cascio tracks, like You keep on breaking the news! compared to Tell it like it is! Don't you be ashamed!
And also the 'gulp' noises and the yelping.
It sounds nearly identical, the scream has that less powerful, less raspy, less throaty sound to it. It has a very weak sound, and it's the same on the Malachi track.
Now I understand, when I'm listening to a random Cascio track at work or when I'm out and about or whatever, when it's not side-by-side to a Jason Malachi track in a comparison video I might hear Michael more, too, with all the copy-and-pastes, breathing pasting, MJ-style production, etc.
But when I listen to the comparison videos I can't deny it.
