Michael - The Great Album Debate

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

I remember that on the 24th I went to see a play with my school's Drama group, and on the coach trip back from London I was counting down the minutes to midnight where I could finally listen to him again. I distinctly remember playing the Jackson 5 Medley from the Bad Tour's first leg. It was magical to be reunited with that voice.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

so how long has been since the video became online again?

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

Videos still not down!

About only listening to Michael, I'd say I listen to Michael at least 75-80% of the time.

On last.fm he is skyrocketed above my other artists.

I've only had my account for half a year and already he has 1,600 plays compared to my next artist who only has 388.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

So maybe it is because of Eddie's image then...

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

Or they're just like "let's not take this one down so they think it was cause of Eddie's image."

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

I did, I do.

When? Where? What was the last thing you said about the questioning the Cascios?

according to you. I told that I heard Michael.

According to me? Alone? There is a huge number of fans who believe the Cascio tracks aren't Michael's songs/voice. See the reaction in various fora and even on www.michaeljackson.com ! For average Joe, who doesn't know Michael or who doesn't care that much really, will most probably also say that he hears Michael on those tracks.

So if you hear Michael, can you point out where exactly you hear him? What part. Is all the lead voice Michael to your ears? And at the same time, are you claiming that Jason doesn't sound at all the same or at least closer than any other Michael's song on those Cascio tracks???

Parallelly, you say you hear Michael and at the same time you question the tracks? Explain that.

I wrote my opinion about the comparison videos, remember? I hear Cascio singer and Jason having different styles and techniques.

"The Cascio singer"??? Are you afraid of saying Michael Jackson?

People here showed you that Jason was perfectly capable of singing whole lines in one breath. Why are you denying those posts?

Michael Jackson has an extremely powerful and instinctively recognizable voice. Michael had a solid lungs capacity and breath to produce such a strong voice. Are you saying that the Cascio tracks contain such strength, power and capacity alongside with instinctively recognizable voice? Not a single Cascio tracks contain a fart of Michael's power. Only Jason's snorts and MJ's ripped off music from different songs such as:

-You are not alone (All I need)
-They don't care about us (Soldier boy)
-Heaven can wait (Water)
-Earth song (Keep your head up)

Twisting and melodyning MJ's already existing music to make the Cascio tracks more Michaelish won't convince my ears, sorry. They're catchy, yes, but that's it. I suspect some material/snippets produced by MJ might have been stolen or ripped off or transformed (melodyned) and used with an impostor voice.

the law, not me

The law says that plagiarism is forbidden. I show you a case of plagiarism and you defend it and qualify it as flattering for Michael. Since when plagiarism is flattering? I showed you a real singer with a real video, not a random fan cover. On top of that, instead of confirming that it is indeed plagiarism, you ask if the lyrics are the same???? Is it relevant??? Why can't you just accept what is put in front of your eyes and ears? You can clearly hear Michael's aaoows in the plagiarized song and the instrumental of HEARTBREAKER. MJ is not credited at all.

So, you are pointing out the tiny legal action, such as the removal of the amateur video Reddy Teddy as something completely normal, and you are clearly avoiding the fact that plagiarism has been shown to you and that nothing has been done. And that's flattering to you? I just don't understand your logic, sorry. You are defending Teedy and Eddie when I see your comments. And it is not the law, but you who chose to point out what is the tiniest illegal deed against Eddy and not the biggest illegal deed against Michael -plagiarism.

read the law, have a realistic approach about copyright and defamation and who can file what complaint.

Well, I don't spend my time reading the law (however I did study the law, it was an obligation at the university), but I am not stupid to see that something has been plagiarized big time, while other things that have been removed are nothing compared to that plagiarism or Leslie Nilsen's movies or Reddy Teddy video. So how realistic is what you say about the Cascio case against the plagiarism that you qualified as flattering?

See our difference is in our emotional versus realistic approach.

Realistic? Your approach? Ivy, wake up. Look in what kind of thread we are. Look how many pages we have written and are still writing! It is absolutely unrealistic to think there's nothing wrong with the Cascio tracks and that there's nothing fishy around! Many people don't hear MJ on those tracks. That's the reality. Many people are divided like never before, that's the reality! Hearing MJ's YANA, TDCAU and Heaven can wait in three different Cascio songs isn't right! It's just not MJ's style! Although MJ reworked some of his tracks, I don't recollect a single track that is the same as the previous ones, they're all different and not a single note in any of MJ's songs reminds me the previous ones. Just admit that.

You look to that video and see defamation and emotionally argue that "oh how could they leave this video on there? they should have removed it , complaint on roof tops, that's far more important than other stuff". I look to that video even though I see the mockery my realistic approach tells me "unfortunately Michael is dead, they don't have any grounds for complaint". I see this as a simple factual realistic approach,

What are you talking about? MJ was mocked when he was alive. No action had been taken. Now that he's dead, MJ is less mocked. So, again your arguments seem always to go against MJ's legal possibilities. Yes, MJ is dead, but his music is still being protected under the copyright. So are you saying that because he's dead now we can download all his music? No, of course not. Likewise, removing the mockery videos would make perfect sense. Set aside the mockery, there is clearly video plagiarism of Thriller and video plagiarism of Bad. What drives me nuts is that you will find a million and one excuse not to take any legal action against those plagiarisms and you see million and one reasons to remove amateurish videos such as Reddy Teddy.

you again approaching it emotionally asking me "why aren't you advocating for removal of these / complaints about them?Don't you love Michael?". I realistically tell you "because it can't happen regardless of how much I love Michael." and you again emotionally choose to blame me or see me as this evil enemy as your heart doesn't let you accept the sad reality.

First of all you misquoted me, I never said anything like that. So if you put quotes, please quote exactly what I said, don't twist my sentences. Second, the sad reality is that you accept it as such, as if there is no other way to solve problems. You sound as a defeated knight without even delivering a battle, with such a statement.

I don't blame you, but look at your posts. They all go in favor of those who divided MJ's fans -- The Cascios and Teddy. Even when Birchey said something about the Casio songs, what you report publicly is only the positive thing that Birchey said, but not a single negative thing he said. So again, this goes in favor of Eddy&Teddy. I don't recollect once when you blamed them for the division in MJ's fan community. However, I read tens of your posts justifying them or their actions, such as removing the videos or the comparisons or this or that. It's just sad to see at what extent you seemingly dislike being proven wrong and that you will exploit the single legal logic, be it the last drop, only to show that you are right. But the overwhelming piling discrepancies related to the Cascio songs seem to be completely neglected in your arguments.

Also, your opinion regarding the tracks is not really clear. You seem to be afarid to take position because it seems that you are again afraid to be proven wrong if ever it appears that you opted for one side or another. You say you hear Michael, then few lines after you refer to supposedly Michael as "the Cascio singer". So, who is it actually that you hear on all of the tracks as lead vocals. Only Michael? Or do you also hear an impostor voice?

You never really answered about the strange lyrics. They mean nothing and are so stereotyped. It is nothing but a pile of MJ-ish kind of sentences with some poor attempt to use ghetto-like or slangish/original MJ-ish expressions: "killing up the birds????", "sucking up from beneath???", "she's working two jobs????" I'm not an English speaker, but my ear's are shocked by such nonesense. and believe me, I am quite used to hear Michael's nonesense. At least Michael's nonesense make sense -- sham on.

So again I would really wish to be not blamed for the law and what can be or can't be done.

You are not blamed. But some of your posts in favor of the Cascios are.

^^

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

Yes, because Eddie just wants to shut Ivy up. In fact, he wrote this song earlier today and dedicated it to her. Heck, he ever got a Christopher Lloyd impersonator to sing it!:

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

am i the only one who is super excited to see bumper's long post? :fear:

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

Probably not. Me and Arklove probably just posted a tad after Bumper's.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

I thought BUMPER's post was absolutely incredible and I applaud it. I was also very excited to see it. I completely agree.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

Try soulless. The music these days have been autotuned to death to make everyone's songs perfect to the point where it's hard to distinguish anyone's music. The industry desperately needs innovation.

This is exactly how my situation is. If I try listening to other artists which I like, I end up clicking an MJ song after a few songs. He's just that good. I even tried to have MJ days off where I didn't listen to Michael. I can only do it for like 1 day.

yeah... no artist is distinctive now. When I listen to WATW with my eyes closed, I can "instinctually" indentify who's who... Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springsteen, Diana Ross, etc... Now, I don't know if I can tell Chris Brown's music from Usher's...

I'm the same... I don't remember a day that I don't listen to at least one MJ song.

When I take a break from Michael and listen to other albums, I further realize how great Michael's albums are. When I listen to the greatest hits of other artists, I find myself skipping songs a lot. I just can't go through the entire album.

But, every song on every one of Michael's albums is enjoyable. Yes, he's really that good.

Enough with the 'instinctually'!!! :lmao:

Yeah, I've been taking a break from Michael lately...I've been listening to more 80s/90s stuff lately...I usually don't last that long without listening to Michael, though....I do like other artists, but a lot do lack the magic that Michael's music has...:D

80s ROCK. Here are some forgotten jewels; Some of them are uptempo and excellent 12inches remixes. A must have or at least a must listen:

LOOOOOOOOOOVE Monkey! Especially the extended version....SO funky! And the rest you posted, Bumper...Love them too ;)

WHy can't music be like that nowadays? No wonder everyone is remixing/remaking/COPYING stuff from the 80s, cuz they truly rocked....Have artists lost all creativity lately? Actually, not lately, for years and years now, the music truly blows.

Monkey extended is absolutely amazing. I was listening to it in my car, and I don't kno wif it's me getting older, but I have impression that the extended remix hasn't aged at all. It's still so fresh and full of energy. The song is mixed by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, they worked for Janet and Michael too. Their mixes are incredible!

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

Music is amazing these days, you just have to keep searching. You won't find it on the radio anymore.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

i know you two are not arguing. but, exchange of your posts are very stimulating!

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

Remember the days when you could listen to the radio though, and it was actually good?

Yes!!!!!!!! Absolutely! I remember when I was listening to the radio to catch a MJ song to record them on my tape. I had the BAD album, but "leave me alone" wasn't on it. So I wanted to have it so much! I was waiting for hours to have at least some of the song. :D

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

What a throw back Bumper! I remember having a cassette player and thinking that was the stuff! :hysterical: Taping off of radio! What a hoot. I used to do that all of the time. I still have some of them!:cheeky::jump:

Oh i know! That's why I never listen to radio nowadays...The only good stations I used to listen to were in Toronto...they're still pretty good now, though....But, back in the 80s/90s the music was always good, radio, videos...everything...it was about the talent, the music, the innovation...And it was all good mainstream stuff....Mainstream is what isn't good these days. I believe there's good music out there, but it's the shitty stuff that gets airplay because it's clearly not about talent anymore, but shock value and sex, really...
