Michael - The Great Album Debate

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

What i really find amazing is how alot of fans were pushing for Monster to be a single because they felt that it had good potential to get to number 1 in the charts. The fact that it might not be Michael singing on it didn't bother them, they just wanted to see the name Michael Jackson be at number 1.

I've actually heard some fans say this ''Oh well it may not be Michael but who cares. Let's get Monster to number 1''
Why would you want an angry song in the charts though? To me, the whole album needs to be all about L.O.V.E and so do the songs. So far Hold My Hand is all about L.O.V.E. and that's why I think it's the best song from the album. Absolutely beautiful.

Why it didn't do better is beyond me.

P.S. though I agree with you, it's a horrible nightmare . I wish all Michael (album) CDs could be destroyed like counterfeit copies and a new charge with BG, DYKWYCA and STTR on it instead would be produced... and all profits would go to charity.
That would be great for L.O.V.E. L.O.V.E. to all the charities all over the world.

:lmao:

obviously, calling someone a monster and an animal, is a gesture of L.O.V.E.

This, actually, was the most disgusting element of the whole scandal.

Note, in Monster he says:

HE's a monster, HE's a monster

HE? Who is HE talking about there? Obviously not paparazzi, unless they're all men.

The way I see it, the monster reference is to paparazzi.

Some here suggested that the monster reference has double-meaning. The writer is also suggesting he's being treated like an animal.

So, depends on how you interpret the lyrics.

Genius that Eddie Cascio. Genius.

Maybe Eddie and Jason wrote these in the shower together? Now the debate gets heated.

Whatever it is, I'm certain it isn't human, you try producing a "snort" and sing or speak at the same time. Go ahead, tell me what you come up with.

No, why don't you tell me why there is a 'production glitch' that sounds like a snort in more than one song?

What's a zig zag?

1) Zig-zag (or zick-zack) is an old magic trick --> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zig_Zag_Girl
--> Doesn't apply here.

2) Zig-zag is a pattern (\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/) which consists of short distances that are always strung together in the same angle so that their ends are representing two parallel lines or arches.

In the song "Monster" it's meant that wherever she (the shooting girl) runs to, they will always get her in the end. It's a metaphor.

Look at the pattern and realize that when she's reached the top, she'll be running back to the bottom and that's where she'll be caught (again).

The "mama says, mama got you" emphasizes on the fact that it's a truism. She should have known about it.

Incredible. What a genius. Profound. And inspiring.

"Shooting Girl" = "Pin-up Girl" = "Glamour Girl"

it's all the same

Personal grading of lyrics has no relevance. Everything is subjective.

Maybe you should take a look at some of the weaker songs's lyrics on INVINCIBLE...

Anything that matches 'Killing up the life in the birds and the trees... sucking up the air from the earth and under me' on Invincible?

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

Why wouldn't a pin-up girl be talked about in a song about tabloids and paparazzi?

Where is she mentioned?

I just hate that word so much now. "Subjective", URGH.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

^ The song is about a model/pin-up girl making a steep career which catapults her up to Hollywood. It's also criticizing the downfall of your personality as the career is taking over your life, the restless paparazzi and that it's common in that game that people managing you aren't good for you, they're only wanting you to continue working. They're not treating you like a person, they're "monsters", they're like animals because they are pushing on you.

The song isn't just about paparazzi. It's far more.

It's got you jumping like you should (Too bad)
It's got you bouncing off the wall
It's got you drunk enough to fall (drunk enough to fall)

Why are they never satisfied (Why are they) (satisfied)
With and all you give (Ye-Ye-Ye-Yeah) (Aah)
You give 'em your all
They're watching you fall
And they eat your soul (AaAh)

You are talking about 'Monster', right?

Woah, Korgnex, quite the descriptive story there:lol: from such vague lyrics. But I like it. :D
