Michael - The Great Album Debate

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

Because the other tracks are widely agreed to be MJ. Although quite how someone could doubt another 4 is a bit confusing....given the evidence of MJ's heavy involvement.

So despite the possibility, that The Jacksons and Rooney, who most of you seem to be putting putting your faith in, questioned not only the Cascio songs, but four others that they had nothing to do with, we just leave that alone right? Forget that they ever said that, if they did, and just focus solely on part of their argument, as if what they say is gospel? Wow.

I don't take anything they say as gospel...same with Sony. I trust my ears. Lots of other fans trust their own ears as well. Which is why the vast majority of us 'doubters' don't agree with their assertion that another 4 tracks are questionable. Simplez.

P.S. Like the 'Wow'.

But other fans have questioned the vocal authenticity of songs like Hollywood Tonight and Best Of Joy, and remember those fans also trust their ears, so again, why the dismissal of these other songs, solely to focus on the ones produced by a certain individual?

And thank you. :)

No gold pants. Michael's definitely best outfit is:

For Human Nature, the part where he starts to sing the song in front of Kenny Ortega, and Ortega leads the band into the music : that part was autotuned on the "why's". In the original video, MJ's "why's" sounded a bit shaky, and a bit out of tune. They were fixed in post-production.

As for WBSS 2008, I honestly don't know : I think they're new, but I don't know whether they were recorded at Angelickson studio, or in Akon's studio. Even if they are new, the fact that MJ only recorded one new verse for the complete Thriller 25 project kind of indicates to me that he wasn't at his best during that period. Let me put it this way : when I heard MJ say during a TV appearance that he was "in the studio recording" for the new Thriller CD, I did not think that the only thing to come out of this would be a 15-second new verse.

What did you expect to come out from Thriller 25 then? Thriller 25 is a re-issue. The remixes are supposed to feature new artists. How much involved do you want from Michael? I'm glad that he didn't get too involved and do a duet with Fergie. Thank God!

Let's say Michael didn't sound his best, why would he record the demos then? Why would he risk further damaging his voice? Again, Michael Jackson always knew his limit.

I don't get your reasoning. We all heard HMH. We all heard how great he sounded in 2007. You still suspect he didn't sound good enough. So, what is it?

If he didn't sound good enough, why would Michael want to be in a studio recording?

If he sounded good enough, whey he sounded the way the Cascio tracks are?

I consider those fans to be in a very very very small minority. I've never seen one, I've heard about them though, so they're pretty rare...kinda like leprechauns.

In answer to your second question, because they don't sound like MJ! I kinda get the impression you believe there's some influencing here. I, and many others, are just going by what we hear.

Plus, let us not forget that all this is based on the assumption that quote is true, which is highly unlikely (like I previously said) since many were heard/leaked in some form before he died!! EDIT: There's not even four that weren't previously heard in some way!!!

Only 3 of them were, that isn't really "many". But I suppose you have a point.

Well, 'many' in the context of the numbers we're talking about. That quote has got to be wrong.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

Did he just go to the studio and give his vocals and get out once he's done?

Appparently, yes, judging from Dr. Freeze's statements, and from the demo for Whatever Happens.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

So, the Cascio tracks were guide vocals recorded with crappy equipment by crappy producers. How's it artistic truthful to release those songs then?

Let me put it this way : let's say the Cascio tracks ARE indeed MJ. Would you rather those tracks stayed in the vaults forever? Or would you rather they be released, so people could hear them?

In the vault, for one and only reason: DOUBT!

^ That.

Re: Michael - The Great Album Debate (Only Go Here if You Want To Continue The Controversy)

Maybe the Cascio's or whoever wrote these songs intended for MJ and they hired Malachi to record the demos, because he sounds similar. Then later MJ would re-record them with his own vocals at a professional studio location. But it never happened.

Or maybe not.

Judging from the Cascio tracks, I think MJ sounded just fine. What, is KYHU such a terrible vocal performance? Is All I Need an out-of-tune, unlistenable mess? On those songs, MJ sounds like a 50-year-old MJ who's recording stuff with friends, in a basement, in the hope of maybe using some of that material, once recorded, for an eventual album.

According to some, there's no way a black male trained in the Motown vocal style will sound as one does on these songs, under any circumstance.

Go figure.
