Wonder if the are finally going to release "What More Can I Give"

I hope it not cuz even though it is a beautiful song thats been done & dusted now . We need new material thats never been heard before

This year we'll have an album related to MJ ONE.
We'll also have Bad25 Doc by Spike on BluRay.
I don't think there will be a third release this year.
How should they tie all these things together?
Even ONE & Bad25 is a long shot.. I don't understand why they wait so long to release the doc.

Maybe late (very late) 2013 or early/mid 2014 we'll see some other project emerge to follow up ONE & Bad25.

MJ ONE takes place in Vegas and it's gonna be there for a long time so I don't see it as a 2013 project... it's not for the global masses - unlike the IMMORTAL tour. MJ ONE could be a good support to other MJ projects in the future.

Bad25 movie is really last year thing, it's just going to be the DVD. Most fans already saw it - and that's their main market. I actually doubt it's gonna sell much.

so a "third" project seems plausible to me.

JMO.

I want new songs too but I always thought WMCIG needs a proper release. Only MJ fans know about that song and I think is better than WATW imo, (I'm talking about the song not the singers who participated in the song :p)

I would LOVE to hear a MJ solo version of WMCIG !!!

Hope the song is released one day - maybe as an extra song on the new album. Hope for the MJ solo version!

Who owns the rights to What More Can I Give now? I hope Schaffel doesn't see a penny of it. I can't stand that leech.

Loving the speculation, all adds to the anticipation.

OH MY GOD. If Bruce Swedien is on board, I'll have a heart attack. :woohoo:

There is a solo recording of What More Can I Give from 1999 and that's the one we'll be getting, assuming we get it at all. You can actually hear part of it in the B-roll footage of the WMCIG music video that was uploaded a few months back. It truly is a gorgeous song and I would love to hear Michael sing it alone!

As long as Bruce is involved i'm all in. But honestly, I'd rather hear a mastered & mixed version (by Swedien of course) for something like "Blue Gangster" or those Will.i.am tracks, its about time those saw the day of light to be honest. Oh!, and also the classical album that Mike was working on, according to David Michael Frank, it was almost, if not already completed.

Yes .. all of that! 100%

Bruce and the others are too old. It'll sound too old. The world wil ignore it.
They need to add a modern feel for radio to play it and for people to want to buy it.

Let's not say they are to old. I know what your saying but we don't want anything like we did with the Michael album. If Bruce is at the helm all will be good. We have to keep that MJ feel in the songs not take it away. I am sure the estate will do it right this time. I think the trial will actually help publicity. I believe the world will be sympathetic to MJ as AEG tries to trash him. This might be a great summer of music coming up. As MJ himself says Keep the Faith. Love will prevail!

Bruce is a sound engineer so his age is irrelevant unless his ears are damaged. Funny - young producers are no good, old producers are no good.

Bruce is the best one out there. Great choice!

"Great music and great melodies are immortal." - Michael Jackson

Does Billie Jean need a modern feel for radio to play it? I don't think so. If you make a song thinking "it has to sound modern", then your song will sound dated in 5 years. People still buy old songs, they buy them because they are good, not because they sound modern.

George Martin is old too. But he's still always the producer working on new Beatles releases (like the Beatles' Cirque album, for example). The guy who produced Adele is old too.

to put it simply, Michael's music was, is and will be timeless. Who listens to a song recorded 30 years ago? Every song thats being released nowadays are history after a year or at most two. It's Michael we're talking about folks

Bruce Swedien is the "Master" at what he does. He is a sound engineer not a producer. He also is a mentor, a teacher now and the younger people pay 1000's of Dollars to go to his classes and seminars just to learn his techniques, to apply to their own work. His technique and work is not considered outdated or old. Its considered the template for great Music engineering. He is well respected still in his field and I'm glad he is passing down his expertise and experience to others. While he is still with us I feel he is the best choice. Bruce knows Michael best and what Michael would want beyond what the industry or label wants for best airplay. His work will satisfy both IMO.

Sorry but we have to have these people like Swedien working on it while they can, it will make it a more authentic MJ album then getting some no mark who's only ever listened to Thriller do it. These people know what they are doing. 'too old'? No, they just know what they are doing. Can't wait!

I'd rather have something that I, a Michael Jackson, like listening to and something close to Michael's vision. I don't care if random people don't like it.

Bruce Swedien is a master. Quite honestly I'm surprised to see him working on this, as I remember hearing that he wasn't on the best terms with the executors of the estate (which might explain his absence from Michael). But his age means nothing; as long as he still has good hearing he can do the job right. And as it was said, Bruce isn't a producer, he's a sound engineer. He isn't in charge of what the music sounds like instrumentally, but rather what it sounds like sonically, if that makes sense. Making sure the bass isn't overpowering, keeping the vocals at a good level, etc.

Additionally, they don't NEED to add a modern feel to the music. Most of the songs included will be from 1998 onwards, and they're the most modern stuff we have. As for any additional/bonus tracks from pre-Invincible years, they shouldn't be touched. The estate already had one failed experiment with trying to make songs sound more contemporary. (Lest we forget what became of Hollywood Tonight?) Songs done with people like RedOne and will.i.am, assuming the latter agrees to release the songs, will be the ones released to contemporary radio.

I would rather have someone who has worked with Michael most of his career and knows him as close as you can working with Michael than somebody who will take guesses what Michael would have liked.

Bruce is a great choice IMO.

He will make MJ proud and give us great music!
