Michael Jackson: The Experience - Discussion News And Updates Thread

The game for Kinect comes with a white fedora!!??

Mine did not, just the code for the bonus song.

I finally got around to set up my XBOX and play the game a little to get a feel for it. I just wish I had more room so I can dance like I need to. I need to figure something out.

I have an Xbox360 but no Kinect... it costs too much for me and i don't know if i'm going to buy it only for try MJ's game :(

On the PS3 I can no longer see my best bits after a song? Why is this,I am trying to get the 10 photo to Facebook trophy Thanks ;)

...!!! I cannot 5-star "Smooth Criminal"'s Master Performance! It requires such precision with your movements that you're bound to miss out on your combo!

I got the game for my Xbox Kinect yesterday and I gotta say that I'm a pretty disappointed...this thing is nothing compared to Dance Central - the only reason I'm still giving it a try is because it's MJ. If it was any other dance game with any other musical theme, I would probably put it back in its case and let it sit there. They had me so hyped for the Kinect version...I thought it'd be the best dance game on the planet! I'm starting to think that I was wrong :(

The menu is hard to navigate & the gameplay/learning experience is just a mess. The game doesn't break up the steps and walk you through everything, you're expected to catch up with their high-speed pace...(and lemme remind you, these are THE KING'S DANCE MOVES...they're already hard enough, the game doesn't need to make them any harder). Instead of interactively teaching you, it gives you the option to watch videos of Travis Payne dancing (Travis is cool, it's just that I would have preferred a more engaging experience as opposed to just watching a video). The point system is a little wack, it compliments you too much. You could be failing at the dance and it'd still say "good" or "perfect". There's no little red markers that tell you which side of your body and which moves you need to fix, everything's so rushed & it doesn't give you a chance to take it all in.

The graphics are much better in Dance Central too IMO, you can actually see a 3-dimensional dancer up close with all his/her features as opposed to this game where there's a small dancer you see way off in the background trying to teach you Michael's moves. I haven't had a lot of time to play with it, but I can usually tell if I'll like a game or not just from the first 5 minutes of game play. I really wish they had done better, I mean they had it all laid out for them, they weren't even the first ones to release a dance game for Kinect so it's not like they started out from scratch like the Dance Central developers did (I know, I know, I'm using DC as an example a lot, but that's just because it's one of the best dancing games out there & I really thought MJEXPKinect would beat it!). I just hope a big update comes out soon, because this game needs to be totally redesigned. It feels too cheap.

Sorry for the rant.

Has anyone seen videos of people using the kinect version on youtube???

Hi! I ordered mine for Ps3 with Another part of me included. I'm looking forward to receive it. I already have the Wii version.

It was said that it would include the song You rock my world but some friends said that it is not included. Does anyone know if it's a especial version or it would be a downloadable track?

Thanks!!

That is so cool! :wild:

Unless there is a special edition in another country that I am unaware of, it does not. They showed that hat in the Smooth Criminal promo vid and it made us think it came with the game, but it doesn't. The only "special edition" is that one you can get with a wireless mic and shirt.

Sorry for the rant.

You summed it all up perfectly. I gave the game a much higher score than it deserved and the more that I play it...the lower the score I want to give and the more I'm glad I only paid half price for it. Still, as you stated it is cheeply made. I will continue to play it just because it's MJ and that alone makes it tolerable. But compared to "Dance Central"...it's just sad. I finally played "Dance Central" for the first time yesterday...now THAT game is a dance game. It's a shame I'm not a fan of most of the songs because it is amazing and destroys "The Experience" in every regard other than having MJ. Which, being through most of the tracks at this point...I feel like a backup dancer and not MJ which was the point.

I know I'm not the only one that bought Kinect for this game...so to those that did the same and want a real dance game, I highly recommend checking out "Dance Central" in all seriousness. When you compare the two you wonder what Ubisoft was thinking. The only excuse I will give is that this was not a Kinect only game. Perhaps if it was it would have been better.

The 'Funky Rocks' trophy is IMPOSSIBLE!
Oh and if you want to add me on PS3 then its dm2040,could you put your MJJC username in the request also please,Thankyou!

Is anyone else having trouble getting picked up by Kinect when it's sunny/hot outside? I've got my curtains closed, I'm doing the right movements, but it's just not picking me up that well. Also, when I'm singing the first chorus of "Smooth Criminal" in Master Performance mode, it barely acknowledges my singing even though I'm keeping in time with MJ!!!!! It's so annoying!!!!

I get the same here. Kinect does pick me up very well, contrary to Dance Central :'(

Yeah it can be annoying at times especially when your trying to hit high notes on songs like Earth song and it won't register it

seems like the game is a pain in the a..., is this true? I bought the Xbox 360 for it but returned the game sealed after I read so much negative things about it.

It has flaws, definitely but it is fun. It captures the essence of MJ, both on stage and his short films. The choreography isn't spot on, but it has the essence of MJ in it. The only flaws are the inconsistency in game modes and the extreme difficulty of some Master Performances and that about half the songs require you to sing. But it has a pretty good practice mode.

LOL

Do not believe all the trash you read. It's a good game. A very good game.

From what I heard from a friend TDCAU on the Xbox is nothing like the choreography? Is this true?

It has traits of the stage choreography, but it does take liberties. Keep in mind, there's also Master Performance mode which has more of those traits.

Well, I tried PSP and Wii versions and honestly didn't like any of them. The PSP version should be fun for kids (7 - 12 y.o); and Wii ... you don't even have to dance, just shake your wii-mote in the right direction. Haven't tried Kinect yet but don't think I'm gonna invest in any of them.

Why don't you go see youtub//? Do not be lazy. Watch the videos and have your opinion.

Well, the same for 'just dance', THE BIGGEST dance game, but nobody complains about that game.

Sorry,But I saw Performance mode and thought it was terrible but did not see 'master performance' So I was only questioning people who have the Kinect game what it is like on master mode.
