what a tiresome thread this has become
I'm sorry love but you're in complete denial due to your love of MJ clouding every single thought. This literally means nothing. Nothing but talk and your own personal opinion.
Watch the Maury show or paternity court on youtube and you will see example after example of naysayers saying the child doesn't look like the father or the fathers family, the child is too light skinned or doesn't look black enough. Blah Blah Blah. Plenty of times the man turns out to be the father and naysayers end up with egg on their faces.
In 2024 and people still think their eyes and their worthless opinions about who looks like who, are the same as a DNA test.
For real, some are going to be very disappointed because they're expecting a documentary. Why do you all expect so much?
The movie will not be longer than 2 hours and it will only show the most important moments of Michael's life. And most of these moments will not even be accurate. Why? Because a movie's main purpose is to entertain! The director will try to make the audience be excited, happy, moved to tears and get goosebumps. It's not there to show us how Michael's life really was, it's there to make us understand and like the man and to have a good time at the theater. If we're lucky, this movie will create new MJ fans who can check out all the facts later.
Some of his manners will probably be depicted in a funny way to make the audience laugh. And some will be totally made up. It's Hollywood after all. Don't be offended, just see it as a celebration of Michael Jackson. You really shouldn't ecpect more.
They're expecting the entire Wikipedia blog put up with healthy dashes of their personal fanfics to boot. For real, some are going to be very disappointed because they're expecting a documentary.
You take that back. No one is as bad as Star Wars fans.Michael Jackson fans are equal to Star Wars fans
Michael Jackson fans actually like Michael Jackson, star wars fans don't like Star WarsMichael Jackson fans are equal to Star Wars fans
They're gonna show him climbing up a tree?I do think there should be a demonstration of MJ's songwriting process.
I'm confident the creation of MJ beatboxing Billie Jean will be in itI do think there should be a demonstration of MJ's songwriting process. Especially during the Thriller era. To dispel the notion that it was all Quincy doing it. Maybe even showing him contributing to the creation of "Human Nature".
The whole film is gonna take place in the tree. They're gonna show him climbing up a tree?
Lol. I mean, I would watch it.Lets include every small interaction Michael had and include it in the 200- hour long biopic.
That giving tree that keeps on giving...The whole film is gonna take place in the tree.
It will be a 3 hour equivalent of the American Dream mini series, it will make a billion easily and people will love it. But the Estate needs to avoid fucking up & actually re-issue his albums after the Biopic to capitalize on the hype and sell more records. This movie isnt going to be perfect but I am heartened by the family involvement, the casting, the directors/screenwriters, and the images we have of him doorknocking. Hopefully it shows us things about Michael we never knew. But it's not going to be able to do cover everything, nor should it. And I'd be surprised if it were 100 percent accurate to the very letter. But I think things are tracking well and I am not seeing any glaring red flags for this movie.
Probably a really good shot Thriller and/or a greatest hits compilation reaches number 1 on release. OTW, BAD, Dangerous would also sell well Id imagine. It will be a 3 hour equivalent of the American Dream mini series, it will make a billion easily and people will love it. They could also use the biopic profit for remastering as many short Films as possible. A new concert would be nice too.It will be a 3 hour equivalent of the American Dream mini series, it will make a billion easily and people will love it. Invincible is the one that needs it the mostProbably a really good shot Thriller and/or a greatest hits compilation reaches number 1 on release. OTW, BAD, Dangerous would also sell well Id imagine.
Michael Jackson albums on Epic don't need any help. It's The Jacksons & Jackson 5 records that are not as well known, other than a few songs like I Want You Back or Shake Your Body. I think albums like Goin' Places & Moving Violation are kinda obscure. They did not do that well when originally released. Probably most people don't know the group had a Saturday morning cartoon show & a variety show on TV during the 1970s. Same for specials like Goin' Back To Indiana. Those are not still rerun like The Monkees' 1960s sitcom. DVD compilations of the old Dolly Parton & Cher variety shows are sold on Time-Life infomercials. Starting last year, the owners of Midnight Special started putting entire episodes of the show on Youtube. Previously, Midnight Special also had Time-Life DVD compilation sets.Invincible is the one that needs it the most
Kind of. But Thriller could hit number 1 at some point for Halloween, in the same way Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas did in December 2019.I think expecting any MJs music to hit Number 1 on the Hot 100/Top 200 in 2025 is Way More Delusional than any idea for this movie, or anything else we've argued about here.
But that's just me.
Those are the exceptions yeah. I'm talking off the success of the film. It's a real long shot is the key.Kind of. But Thriller could hit number 1 at some point for Halloween, in the same way Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas did in December 2019.
Also, if some artist with a huge fan base like Drake would do a feature and they released it as a lead single, it could also work out.
Music biopics in general don't make huge amounts of money. The Queen movie was a fluke. Besides the recent Oppenheimer, no other biopic of any type (music or not) made close to it. Before the Queen movie, the highest grossing music biopic was Straight Outta Compton about hip hop group N.W.A., which has made $201,634,991 worldwide. Going by that, then the Bob Marley movie did fairly well, especially since today very few non-IP movies make much money in theaters. Unless you count Chinese made movies in China. I think the 2022 Elvis Presley movie has passed up the N.W.A. one for 2nd place, but movie tickets cost more now than in 2015.The Bob Marley biopic only got around 150 million at the box office. I expected much bigger numbers for a legend of his stature. Maybe we have to keep our expectations regarding the box office for Michael in check. It will probably end up around the 200 million mark comparable to Elton John’s rocketman.
The numbers aren’t bad but I did expect something closer to 500 million. I also didn’t expect Dune 2 to turn into a box office hit so that movie likely took some steam from One love. Next up is the Amy Whinehouse biopic.
Yep these are the more successful ones out there. Hopefully Michael gets up there with Elvis. Also look out for the upcoming Beatles BiopicsMusic biopics in general don't make huge amounts of money.
