Re: Memorial Tribute for Michael in Rome *Update Post 42- Press Conf June 4th*

As far as I can see the press conference was canceled? Don't know where this person takes her infos from, but she posted it on her facebook

Anyone knows something?

The estate/kids will do a good one some day ;)
Has the press conference really been canceled?

A newspaper just confirmed that the press conference has been canceled yesterday at the last minute bc (I'm translating) Marlon and Tito Jackson said they needed to be in the US to keep track of the criminal investigation on Murray.
This is the article: http://iltempo.ilsole24ore.com/spettacoli/2010/06/05/1166656-ultimo_forfait_jackson.shtml
I watched the news yesterday and today and there was no mention of the press conference nor of its cancelation anywhere on TV.
Anyway it looks like they haven't sold many tickets.
Meh...this is so embarassing...

And I don't like the last comment of this article...not at all.

Re: Memorial Tribute for Michael in Rome *Update Post 42- Press Conf June 4th*

There were ticket sales?

My God, is that the family is aware that Samantha Zolla is involved in this tribute and the article in Vanity Fair? This tribute will be a fiasco.

There were, I read about people going to the tribute on several Italian forums...

Randy knows for sure that SZ is one of the organizers, he tweeted about her a couple of weeks ago:
I've never met tribute organizer Ms. Zolla. In Vanity Fair Italia, she says my brother is alive & speaking 2 her. I'm mortified.
The problem is that many people believe this girl  (and btw I'm still spellbound that Vanity Fair would publish such a statement)

Now, when Randy tweeted about the tribute concert saying none of the brothers was attending I thought it was the end of this..."thing" but now there's the annoucement of the press conference and then its cancelation.
It looks like a fabrication, and I really want to hope it IS a fabrication and not the truth, the brothers can't be supporting this concert...

I imagine and I fear this concert will cause a mayhem

:2cents:

Summarizing: the whole story is a big mess and confusion. :bugeyed  I doubt that this tribute will happen.

Re: Memorial Tribute for Michael in Rome *Update Post 42- Press Conf June 4th*

Love 3T...God bless 3T & MJ3

Re: Memorial Tribute for Michael in Rome *Update Post 42- Press Conf June 4th*

God bless 3T. Love those guys, they're so sweet. It seems like this Rome concert just popped out of thin air and what the hell happened to Jermaine's concerts anyhow? I know the company financing it went under but that's all we ever heard.

Re: Memorial Tribute for Michael in Rome *Update Post 42- Press Conf June 4th*

another sure fire event up in smoke before it had a chance to work. just WOW!

Re: Memorial Tribute for Michael in Rome *Update Post 42- Press Conf June 4th*

Tito has announced that he will do some tribute shows in Japan (July 15-19) at Blue Note, Tokyo.

Re: Memorial Tribute for Michael in Rome *Update Post 42- Press Conf June 4th*

^^ well, according to todays news from Jackson Source I assume, Tito doesn't know, where he wants to be...
UPDATE:: Tito's management informed Jackson Source that, at the moment, the situation is that Tito's performance in St. Kitts has been officially cancelled. Tito is now planning to perform on June 25th at the event in Rome.

---
Tito is doing a concert tour this Summer. The dates announced so far are:
June 19: Soul Food Festival, Jacksonville, USA.
June 25: MJ Memorial Tribute, Rome, Italy (Europe).
June 27: 24th Annual Long Beach Bayou & Mardi Gras Festival, New Orleans.
July 15, 16, 17, 18, 19: Tribute shows at Blue Note, Tokyo, Japan. Tito will perform 2 shows per day so 10 in total.
The show for June 25 at St. Kitts Festival, Caribbean, South Pacific is cancelled.

Plus, Tito announced he's playing in Japan this Summer too.

Tito and his band will perform at The Soul Food Festival in Jacksonville on June 19th.

hmmmmmmmmmm

will japan happen..

I thought Rome was the one that would have happened.. seen as Travis and the This Is It dancers were supposed to be performing there, it seemed quite 'official'. So now it's over?

Re: Memorial Tribute for Michael in Rome *Update Post 42- Press Conf June 4th*

UPDATE: I'm not sure this memorial tribute (which is not even a memorial tribute in the mind of the organizers, but I digress) will take place AT ALL. It's still unofficial but it looks like the event will be either moved to the Palalottomatica (seating capacity: 11,200 people versus the 70,000 capacity of the Stadio Olimpico) or just canceled (the billboards in Rome say it will take place at the Palalottomatica).
Tito Jackson, 3T, Craig David, Ne Yo, Joss Stone won't attend and there may be other defections (Marlon, Travis Payne and Akon are still set to appear at the Tribute though).
I read this on another forum and people are starting to get frantic and furious bc nobody is telling them anything official and bc they paid quite expensive tickets (90€ on the average) to see some artists and they will see some others (who of course have to replace the ones who will not attend).

More info and a useful phone number here and in this FB group.
That's all I know for now, I'll update and/or rectify if needed.

But do they know they are set to appear at the tribute?

Cancelled the tribute in Rome, Italia

Sorry i translate this with Google Translator

Annulled by the Entertainment Worldlive "Michael Jackson's Memorial Tribute" Stadio Olimpico in Rome on 25 June 3500 due to poor advance ticket sales (on 82mila seats available). "The significance of the charges went beyond the fact of seeing artists (more or less famous in our country) to perform, - reads the press -. The real meaning was to honor Michael, but the public response Italian there was" .

"Our company has stumbled, too, unfortunately, 'ambiguous characters' that have undermined the credibility of the tax which, in the past, have become involved in actions against fans unclear Italian clubs, using the wrong name Michael or pretending to event organizers (never realized). This of Rome could be a good revenge for all. The few thousand tickets sold are not even sufficient to attain the minimum required by the public involved in some star tribute to make their performance .

"The security purchased in advance - concluded Worldlive Entertainment - will be reimbursed by the same outlets no later than June 30, 2010. For their full face value including booking fee. For more information www.mjmtribute.com - Tel 06.97304159

I'm italian and i'm very sad that this tribute is cancelled, but i'm angry too because they used Michael's name to be rich.
(sorry for my bad bad bad english)

Re: Cancelled the tribute in Rome, Italia

I guess we'll see Randy pretending to be the one who cancelled this tribute.

this event was organized by incompetent and unprofesionnal people like Oxman

Re: Cancelled the tribute in Rome, Italia

And MJ's name is used by a bunch of bastards....AGAIN.

Re: Memorial Tribute for Michael in Rome *Update Post 42- Press Conf June 4th*

tribute cancelled here : http://www.mjmtribute.com/

we'll see soon Randy pretending to be the big master mind behind this cancellation

Re: Cancelled the tribute in Rome, Italia

thank god it's cancelled

I hate that Michael's name is used by all these people. Michael doesn't deserve this.

Re: Cancelled the tribute in Rome, Italia

I'm happy it's over!
this is what you get when the estate is not involved...
how many failed tributes must the jacksons collect before they understand ppl ain't dumb?everything needs financial support and no-one with some sense in his brains should work with them on large scale projects, they are simply awful,if they had some sort of talent to menaged this kind of events they would have an estate and a name of their own to profit from..

Re: Cancelled the tribute in Rome, Italia

Had a feeling this would happen....

Re: Cancelled the tribute in Rome, Italia

This is so sad and embarrassing.
